Yep. Although since moving here two and a half years ago, I prefer to call Brisbane "Freakytown'. I love it here but given it's close proximity to Toowoomba and all the houses or factories that are now self proclaimed churches of the new non descript, new fandangled order such as Springwood People's church, as opposed to Springwood's marsupial church or maybe Springwood's Cloven footed creatures church, I find quite a bit to laugh at too. In the 80's I married a man from Perth and had two kids which meant I was stuck between the desert and the Indian Ocean for twenty long, long, years. Before that I lived in Alice Springs, Adelaide and grew up in Melbourne after being born in Dublin, Ireland. Now I am married to a gorgeous feminist man. After travelling the world, we plan to be grey nomads when we grow up.:2thumbsup:
13.7k posts you find my insignificant Howdeedoodie 2nd post here bizarre? Pftt. Really? You need to get out more. It would have been useful if you could state exactly how and why. Not just calling it bizarre. That's so 16 year old. If you actually ask a question, I can answer it. If my reasonably short posts confronts you as bizarre, I'd be very happy to relieve you of your confusion if you could just indicate what it is. Thanks. Frankly your post is bizarre to me too but I will tell you why. You don't really state anything other than you can't keep up or you are confused even though you have spent fourteen words. Was it the Freaktown reference? The church reference? The marsupials? Alice Springs? The desert or the cows? Which one was it? I am truly sorry to be the one to tell you that it sounds like you have never really taken your little chicken body far from your shell. Help me help you. I can find lots of Australians who know exactly what I mean. Maybe you are one of those Springwood People's Church People. Small world hey! Cheers, Annie.
Oopsie. Yes. Indeedie. That's where I was born. Inchicore to be precise. House backing onto the Camac with daily walks through Phoenix Park. Thanks for rerailing the derail Jiimmyjoe1.
Yep. Phoenix park, Castle Knock to Dumdrum. Apparently I share genes with everyone in the vicinity. :2thumbsup: Nearly midnight here. G'night.
I was NSW girl when I lived in Aus. True to the light blue! Still have my NSW state flag, hanging in my garage.
