What is something you must spend top dollar on if you need it to be of good quality?

    Exactly as I suspected!

Sane people know better, they foist it off as a quality surface here in Mexico...

Even a glass of water with condensation will leave a permanent ring in the stone. I have spent a lot of money on polishes and cleaners specifically for granite, but nothing seems to work. Youtube searching next...

    Definitely food first.
    I hate GM stuff
    Only buy organic.

A bed too. Cheap beds are no good at all.
    Just cause back problems.

Multitools. It's the one category of items, where brand name really counts. If you want the actual good stuff, just go straight for the Leatherman and Victorinox offerings. The Chinese crap, off-brand knock-offs are just terrible in quality.

I don't know about Mexico , but in Oz cast iron skillets are sold as camping equipment. I once bought one at a yard sale for $2 minus the wood component of the handle. I cut a section of broom handle, drilled holes in both ends and fitted it.

Yes they are quite affordable, I have to decide exactly where it will fit into the kitchen :) Although Mom would just leave it on the stove top as a permanent fixture as I remember.
