I might be old fashioned but best leave the military games to the men IMO.

 

I questoned the actual motivation more so .

Rhetoric about being more focused for victory, is something in the planning?

This kind of stuff usually precedes sonmething more sinister.


As for the numbers, 11000 or 15000 out of 1,300,000 on active service, 800,000 in the reserves seems very high. Up to 1.15% if they are not including reservists. Normally transgender in the population is about 1 in 4000 everywhere else, as low as 0.025%. That is, the US military has close to 50 times more transgenders than most populations on the planet.

0.3% if you go by wikipedias stats for US domestic, thats still 3, 4 times more in the US Military.

But i dont think it has actually anything to do with transgenders.

Even if it does, there are always going to be that 1/4 of a percent that are the real thing, but i find it very hard to believe there is an extra 1% that are going to get their thing chopped for reasons like the influence of chelsea manning, kaitlyn jenner or becuase they can get in done for free in the military.....and yet the figures suggest.....

 

Its medical motivated. Hard enough to pay for wounded veterans, let alone some twatwaffle that wants to get sex reassignment surgery .. Meanwhile trying to get affordable healthcare to everyone else in the country, legally here and not.

I should just stay out of this because I have no health care experience, no military experience and no transgender experience..

I don't see why they cant just ban using public funding for sex reassignments instead then.

If someone wants to pay for their own reassignment surgery and hormones AND lay down their life for this stupid backwards country, I don't see the problem

I said what I said and stand by it because in this era of warfare it's not just sending people in to fight and then go home. The stress of war is becoming increasingly difficult on the minds of the people going to war. They return home with a lot of post traumatic stress, tinnitus, flashbacks and so on and so on.

So if we are going to mould our nations soldiers (yes I know it's a US deal but I'm ecompassing it for all nations) so if we are to mould our own citizens into war machines that come home with a lot of problems then how or why are you going to send people already living with problems out into a battle and how can you expect them engage like they're meant to and come back to a society that already outcasts them, I just don't see how that's fair or how that can work.

You gotta a mentally tough cookie these days and you hear about transgender people even with an open identity still every day has an identity crisis with themselves, how can you trust that person to have your back in a firefight if they've got their own personal problems surfacing day to day?

I wouldn't. I couldn't trust that person whether they're male or female or whether they think they're male or female, couldn't trust them. Their minds have to be on the task at hand and statistics suggest that there's a lot of drama and ongoing problems that some of these people face. Well I wouldn't that person accountable for looking out for me.

And I know how powerful women can be, but I'm not going to pretend that a platoon of females is going to save the world. Like they're all good news stories to read on Facebook, like these supposed women from Palestine that kill ISIS members I mean yeah that's all fantastic to read, would make a good book or a movie too, but is it winning the war or anything?

Is anyone going to earnestly say that the military would be a better fighting unit if it was mixed between straight, gay & transgender groups of marines? I don't think so.

You can't even get a marine to work with women on Hells Kitchen, those types of guys, those gun slingers that actually wanna go in and do some fighting, they don't want women on their squad. Don't even want women in their kitchen. They can't trust them, they won't.. I gots me a feeling they ain't gone bend over backwards for some bloke with a set of tits either.

It's about comradeship, the brotherhood of sorts. A band of Brothers. Not a band of girls boys men women and uncertains.

 

My best bet on "Wtf Is This Really About" is that it's likely a distraction to take peoples minds away from things like the Obamacare issue or perhaps the fact that we spend Billions on a new Aircraft carrier while there are folks who are now running a good chance of losing their health insurance or the latest actions / reawakening of the "#fightfor15" crowd who seem to have been recently coming out of their initial post-election state of shock & awe, maybe "all of the above and more", more incursions into Syria or maybe Iran.

Keep the masses in a frenzy and they'll never be able to focus on any one ring of the Circus for too long,,,
