The set deity would be the image. That doesn't mean the characteristics are untrue, but they shouldn't be confused with God. When the prophet Isaiah was communicating with God he simply said here I am Lord. He was fully present in the presence of God.
True Christians believe in Christ the Lord; nevertheless they must interpret the Revelations as happening for all time and personally accepted that one loves the World as only one could. Bare up and forsake God the Father for He is the not the Lord to God the Son. None of my business what He really was that way, only in prayer.
Actually, "Yahweh" is [the causative form, the imperfect state, of the Heb. verb ha‧wah′ (become); meaning “He Causes to Become”].
Agree. This is what being filled with the Holy Spirit is all about. The Bible tells about it but isn't it. It reminds me of the William Blake quote, "Both read the Bible day and night, but thou read black where I read white"
You are correct that a true Deity should not be defined by image. Yet at the same time to worship a deity such as God or Jesus or Shiva one must define them. That is all that the bible really is. A definition. Very true brother, glad to see that one does their research. Not all religions have a concept of good and evil. Most perhaps but not all. The philosophy I follow does not know inherent good or evil, only human good and evil. A very narrow way of thinking. A very limited way of teaching. We are all seeking the same thing and not all will go through the same needle's eye to obtain it.
true statement. I never understood why so many people place so much emphasis on the trinity. I even had a christian get down right mad at me one time because I didn't understand the trinity and couldn't explain it to him, he started yelling at me. then he condemned me for having a false gospel. talk about demons. I don't think it really matters as long as you understand the significance of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus was a man -- the messiah. He even said, why do you call me good? no one is good but God alone. after He overcame he was placed in authority over all principalities in heaven and on earth. then he sat down at the right hand of God until his enemies are made a footstool, putting away his corruptible body and becoming incorruptible -- just like his true disciples will too if they overcome. He is our high priest, the son of God. Not God Himself. The Holy Spirit is the helper. Jesus' ministry didn't really begin until He was baptized and "the holy spirit descended like a dove." I would like to understand more about why various sects of Christianity believe what they do. well anyway that is my response to the OP, going to read the next 7 pages. I admire your beliefs OWB, it seems like you are a sincere searcher that has found a fair amount of truth in your lifetime. I hope that you apply it to your life as well.
if anything, the character of God is best represented in the family unit, not a shamrock. the shamrock was a tool used for evangelism by st. patrick in ireland to help people understand.
I believe it. It is a false doctrine integrated into most of Christianity and it is incorrect. God is the father Jesus is the son the Holy Spirit is Gods active force. They are not intertwined and the bible does not say that they are.
And Jesus said, "I and the father are one", then they picked up rocks to stone him. Jesus said, "In that day you will realize that I am in my father, my father is in me and I am in you all perfected into one." Both from the Gospel of John.
Don't know. Don't care. True Christians don't believe things like this are important. Only false prophets worry about such issues.
I'll slip this one now that the worldly situation is as it is (Obama and Putin and whatever, Israel). To have it, the Blessed Trinity, one could insist that peacemaking is no longer attacked by humanism, nor humanism is all concentrated on peacemaking.
It seems Jesus thought it was important but then what does Jesus know about being a Christian anyway? (John 17:3)
