My hands aren't steady enough to weld properly anymore... Gonna be a shitty trailer, even for just hauling wood.

 

i have trouble with stick welding too...mig is easy but i shake too much for stick and its hard to keep the gap

 

Yeah... It's been 40+ years since I welded last too.


But so far these welds could be used as "what not to do" on a welding website. Actually some of those look better than mine.

If it does the job for you, who gives a damn what it looks like? Somebody has a perfectionist streak.

 

I can stick weld better than I can mig. Unless someone sets the wire speed correctly, I can't seem to get it right but I'm fine with a stick though I tend use both hands. Hold with right, hold right wrist with left is what I was taught. Also once you stick inserted I'd bend it like a banana seemed to work well.

I remember having the flux lift itself off a weld, a sign of a good bead.
