This is the movie that made my wife and I realize we had to set a confirmation password for buying movies on our Xbox.

Our kid, who was probably 2 (maybe 3) at the time (he's now almost 4), was playing with the Xbox and ended up clicking through to movies.
Obviously, he ended up clicking things until he ended u[ buying (but not watching) this movie.
I've yet to watch it, but will have to some day... simply because we paid for it.

A few hours ago I saw a good movie.
I'm not sure exactly what it was really about, but it was enjoyable and seemed to be saying a bunch of stuff.

    Anyway, it was...

    Barry Lyndon

Winner of four academy awards and called one of the top 100 movies of all times.
Shot with all natural light, even the interior night scenes are lite only by candle, fantastic cinematography.

There are some movies that are only meant to be seen once and at 3 hours (and slow paced) Barry Lyndon fits the criteria – its good but once was quite enough.

Agreed, but it was done very well. The costumes, sets, and photography were superb. The acting was low key and the story progressed along at a modest pace. It was refreshing to view a movie that depicted "ordinary life" sans the reliance on special effects, rehashed story lines, and shock and awe.
I did look it up and found that considerable work went into the filming using lens developed by NASA and a combination of natural and artificial light to result in award winning cinematography.

Unfortunately the 18th century mansion burned down several months after the filming so the movie is a record of parts of the interior.

Was there ever a bad Kubrick film?

I paid $1.59 at Redbox and that was too much.

Latest was Rock The Kasbah with Bill Murray, much better than WTF, but not one of his best. It was worth $1.59.
