Because at Ordination they take a vow of celibacy.

I am married. If i were to switch rites to a Greek Catholic Rite (Like Ukrainian Catholic) i would be able to be ordained into the priesthood. A Married Anglican priest may be welcomed into the priesthood of the Roman Catholic Church without being forced to leave his wife.

Celibacy for new priests also remains to be a discipline in the Roman Catholic Church. It could be repealed tomorrow if the Pope wanted to.

Also, I could be ordained, as a married man, into the diaconate (as a deacon). If my wife were to pass away after, I would have to remain celibate.

 

thats stupid. can you back that up with scriptures? cause I read verse where Gods speaks of men needing a helper...

 

1 Cor 7:1 "Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry."

1 Cor. 7:7 "I wish that all men were as I am [single and celibate]. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.

1 Cor. 7:27 "I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs—how he can please the Lord."

Note that Paul does not say that ministers cannot marry, only that they shouldn't. Ukrainian Catholic priests, as I have said, may be married before ordination. priests know well that they may not be married once ordained. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 7:24, Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to.

We believe the Holy Orders, just like marriage, is a calling and a vocation. If God calls you to the priesthood, you should remain celibate.

EDIT: God identified with female things to, does this make Him the Whore of Babylon as well? This is a logical fallacy.

2) Video Claims: Revelation says that the whore will persecute specifically "born-again believers".

"Born-Again" is a term that is used for "baptism by spirit" which catholics believe happens at confirmation at the laying on of hands mirroring the biblical practice of laying on of hands by apostles to converts for them to receive the Spirit.
Protestants have hijacked the term to mean "My". "Born Again" Christianity is really "My Christianity".

3) Video Claims: The Vatican can/or will have control over the "kings of the earth".

Well we will not know if it will unless it happens, so we will have to wait that one out won't we. Until then, does the Vatican have any real power over the nations? No, in fact your own president has numerously moved against teachings of the Church in favour of the culture of death. He appoints "Catholics" who support abortion that the church says are wrong in an attempt to look catholic friendly.

4) Priest on Larry King teaches proper Church teaching.

Wrong, the church teaches that Jesus Christ is the only salvation. All salvation is through him. If and non-believer is welcomed into the beatific vision, it is through Christ's own mercy and not the ordinary path of salvation of faith.
I too can see some "beauty" in Islam in terms of the 5x a day prayer, but that is also included in the Catholic tradition in the Liturgy of the Hours. Basically I think this guy is misguided and trying to make the Church "nice". like I said: If it is to easy, it probably isn't good for you.

5) That Protestant guy talking about the Bible and the Qur'an.

He seems to confirm the false teachings of the priest when he says that god is the perfect moral being and is all loving and all forgiving. Too easy?

6) Excommunication is different from banned from communion.

Can you see those two words? What do you think Excommunication means? Communion is not only reception of the Blessed Sacrament, but includes taking a full and active part in the liturgy. this was meant to foster repentance, rather than just a malicious looking punishment.

7) Letter from Bishop about whether Catholic can be Masons.

In case you haven't noticed from the former Prefect for the Congregation for doctrine and Faith, now Pope Benedict, has said NO!!! If you are a Mason, you are in grave sin and if you die and do not repent for being a Mason you will go to Hell! That is actually quite stronger then a simple excommunication which only means you have to be avoided or shunned.

8) Upside down cross = Satan

No, upside down cross = tradition of Peter being crucified upside down because he was not as worthy as Christ and the Pope sits in "Peter's chair"

9) Bent cross is grotesque.

"Be his stripes we are healed". Christ was beaten and flogged to the edge of death. This is an attempt by Protestants to "clean up" Christianity to make it easy to digest. Why does Paul say to preach Christ crucified, and not to preach an empty cross?

10) Divine Mercy icon is "New Age".

What came out of Jesus' side? Water and Blood. the Red and Blue symbolize this. His death was the sacrifice for our sins. His wounds healed, and continue to heal us.

The point was to show the fallacy of the guy in the clip who said that the Whore of Babylon is a woman, so obviously the Catholic church is the whore because the Church is also called "She" in official language.

I attempted to show how they have always been against it. There is some grey areas in the rewording of the Canon Law, but it was clarified. you will die in your sins if you are a unrepentant Mason. According to Church doctrine, mortal sins sever your relationship with God. If we die in mortal sin, we should expect to go to hell.

The Liturgy of the Hours prior to Vatican II had 8 different times to pray, now there are 7 because one was suppressed. priests are required to say this daily. Deacons are required to say only two certain ones, and the laity are exhorted to take up the practice as well.

Because you cannot be married (or remarried) after any sort of Holy Orders. The diaconate was restored as a ministry to married men during Vatican II.

That is simply a condition of ordination. You pledge to remain celibate.

I think you missed the main point of what I was talking about. I was speaking about special circumstances of a married deacon or priest in the Eastern rite who becomes a widower. They cannot remarry.

I am a lay married man. If my wife were to die, I would be able to remarry. But if she did die, I could be ordained to the priesthood.
