Does anyone know where I can learn about and hear some Taoist music? Also, does anyone know what types of instruments used in Taoist music?

    Thanks!

i believe there is an instrument called the sakahachi. incredibly simple in its design and concept, making it increadably difficult to play. it almost takes a kind of taoist, or taoist like, mindset to get a sound out of it, let alone actually play something on it.

i don't own one. i remember once upon a time holding one to my lips and being told to essentially exhale softly into/across it. similar to a flute in concept, but incredibly simple in appearance and construction. it's just a bamboo tube, with the mouth end cut a particular way (two unequal cuts at 90 to each other, offset and at some angle other then 45 (possibly 60?) to the length), and the holes placed in the right place to make the notes.
