Support the Troops?

The world is much more complex now.

If you brainwash your kids that the only way to solve a problem is with the force of a gun, soon they'll even blow away a cockroach with a gun, because that's the only thing they've been programmed with.

I never had respect for soldiers and the military. Never will. The military exists as programmed automatons to do the commander's bidding. In a capitalist society, the military protects the interests of the military-industrial complex.

You would taunt them too if they came into your country, utterly DESTROYED it, MURDERED your family, friends, RAPED your women, STOLE your most precious natural resource for their own profit.........these kids are expressing justifiable rage......how can you see it any other way?

Most parents don't spend enough time with their kids to even suggest their influence is that great, it's rather politics and the military come in and fill a void that parents are too busy to even acknowledge.

 

If parents wish to abrograte their roles and allow the politics and war machines to assume their roles they are in fact at fault.

We are now in position where not only do we put our young men into active combat but we are now subjecting our young women to that same control Who's to blame?

Some young women have no other choice. I thought after the TailHook scandal this sort of thing in your link would be rare, but I guess I was wrong.

And I wish to state that women can add a lot of benefit to the military services if they are not held as second rate contributors or chatel. Women are many times more grounded and foucussed than males during combat. But you have a point if they are really intelligent they would stay clear and let the testosterone loaded dumbshits combat their own wars.

 

How is this any different than the man who blindly adhere to enforced mandatory commitment to armed services in other countries? if people were so against it, they would do something to change that policy. If most people were against it, they would fight it. But they do not on a large scale. So by what you say, many people in most countries are evil and mindless drones than since they either join or do nothing to change enforced mandatory service.

War, as much as I can not stand it, is unavoidable at this point because everyone feeds the war machine, you and I included. Each time you purchase gas or pay your taxes, you support it. Can people stop it? We may have fed the beast to much. Can I now call you a mindless drone than since you feed the effort? No, I won't. and I won't call some of the troops that either. Some are pigs and mindless, but your description again is not a one size fits all description. just like walmart isn't filled with white trash as some would like to state. I don't support it (walmart or the war), but will stand up for it when blind blanket assumptions and statement are being made about some of the people. Nothing in life can be summed up in one simple one sided 1000 word post. It would take books to even scratch the surface and do the topic (psychology of war) justice, but NOT one post with a few hundred words typed out in 30 minutes.

Overall, I take issue with the over simplicity of the post and maybe not 100% thinking threw things. I will explain: I can't agree with the war but can't agree with dealing with anti war like this (Vietnam or what you propose). By insulting people and calling them evil killers, spiting on them, you won't change minds and change anything. I would rather educate them, show compassion, ect. Cause this attitude you propose would have the contary effect on some people and NOT convince them of how bad war is. and I don't think that is something you can deny. generalizations and stereotypes is what divides this country. simple as that. can't make them.

 

So, you say you do not believe in generalizations. Meaning to say, there will be certain exceptions..

i do not support the war whatsoever but i do support how much courage those soldiers must have.

 

There's the other problem with our society.

Iraqi "insurgents" are called "terrorists".

The American military who's troops illegally invaded, destroyed, occupy an entire country, have contributed to the deaths of more than 100,000 Iraqis
and committed numerous atrocities are "courageous soldiers" just doing a job.

Tell me who is the terrorist?

 

America is a terrorist nation, united states soldiers are terrorists.......How much courage does it take to MURDER people fighting for their own country? How much courage does it take to fight a people that are using technology 50 years behind yours? How much courage does it take to shoot and bomb civilians, women, and children?
