Why use a converter at all... Just use a car stereo instead of a home unit.

Why would I want to power my truck for 12hrs + a day though? I leave the truck locked up. :)

I need the inverter to convert it to 12v don't I?

It will need to power my stereo system and maybe some phone chargers and an electric blanket at night. :)

I know every single person's advice has been "hook it up to your truck" on every single message board ever, in the history of camping message boards but I'm not technically minded like that. I don't want to use the truck just yet. I will eventually get the truck sorted and as far as I can tell this kit is good for my truck i just need to get a DC/DC charging chord to run from my alternator through to truck bed.

But I don't want to do that now, I'm just looking for a stand alone, plug and play type situation where I, Jocelyn Irminsul, can just plug stuff in and it works.

I wasn't suggesting using the truck radio.

Instead of buying a home stereo and using converters to get the solar/battery/thingy from 12 volts up to 120 volts, just use a 12 volt stereo.... which just so happens to be what car stereos are. Less drain on the battery too.

This should not be rocket science.

I just don't want to risk draining or damaging any part of my truck, that's why I don't want to use it... Like, I get the idea etc but then if have leads running from my truck all around the place. Where if I can just get a battery and solar kit, then it just seems so much simplified.

If I was going camping off road etc. Then yes I will look into the 2nd battery for the truck.

But atm, the ranger battery is very particular, it only charges to something like 30%, enough to start the truck. I can ask them to switch that off though.

Basically I don't want to leave and be like oh great, my truck won't start.

I don't want to be that person who has wind turbines all over my 8x8m camp site. :tearsofjoy: I'm already pushing the limit of our site this year as I need the trailer and the toilet on my site. Might not be able to put the shower tent up. Actually I'm sure I'll squeeze it in somewhere and just cable tie it to the toilet cube lol.

I'm really looking forward to this. Less than 5 weeks. I think. The first wave of campers will be there in a couple of weeks.

you're right. i guess teenagers are often more dramatic and take it too seriously.. this has made me wish to see a "Daria in her 30s" standalone film.

    An incubus.

So happy I downloaded the Molly Hatchet albums. Good camping tunes for sure. :)

As usual though I gotta stop l reading opinions on what's the best album lol. Not that it matters cause I can download any album on the site, but so far album #6 is my favourite. Definitely not the first two as advised.
