It is a process of memory. I recalled the lyrics and originally wanted to post the song but I didn't know exactly the title so i looked up the lyrics. I simply copied and pasted from that position rather than going on to the song. There was no intent to claim authorship. What do you find amusing about the quote in relationship to any thing I have previously said? i don't think that is an honest statement. Put up or shut up. I didn't say Meagin was unjustified. You are claiming fault for me and of me. Suggesting that I did something dishonest or presented something not in the realm of my own thinking or recognition. Couldn't be farther from the truth.

When did I claim anyone's work as my own? It is a testament to your prejudice that you suggest I did. As I have pointed out credit was in fact given whether you recognize it or not. Suggesting Fry is naive without any explanation or bringing his nose as a talking point are just as much an assumption and an irrelevant argument.

 

Duh, of course not. But I was not talking or meaning to focus on any kind of privilege... I ment because this topic is focussing on the humourous outlook of Stephen Fry and relaxx and Fierce Flower share that outlook.

Nox seems to have given a proper explanation already. I agree about the nose comment too, but I think we can both determine that was not ment serious. It seems there has been a mutiny and you have taken the function of captain Obvious Besides that it seems you're out to take things out of context...

How am I the one to take things out of context? The first two responses against Fry's points were him being naive with no explanations why and his celebrity status. If there is anything I have learned from my time on this site, it's that there is nothing that can be too obvious.

So no contrary to his suggestion that you ask me to account for his behavior. He should speak for himself on this issue, which you have correctly surmised that he has not. All the same he is not required to respond. From this position we are left to either form a conclusion or consider the results inconclusive. Now considering his objection to plagiarism he says that it is a scourge to rational discourse but then chooses to respond to my inquiry by telling me to f... off. Now this leads me to believe that the appeal to rational discourse as being valuable is less than the actual point he wanted to make.

It is not unusual for frustrated people that I relate to over time to find some kind of relief when they believe I fucked up in some manner. They applaud when I fall down.
I have seen it before, at the same I am very sincere in wanting to bring people out in the open simply that some may know the relief of not having to protect a personal image. In the course of that exchange, the subject brought to attention had absolutely nothing to do with the subject of the thread or the actual quality of discourse. It was a personal sidebar expressing relief for a personal confusion? As I mentioned it remains to be known if he was actually even confused or if a disparity even actually occurred to him absent Meagains contribution. The whole affair seems to me a lashing out of personal frustration that has a historical basis in our previous exchanges.

The only information I have on Frye is that I have seen him in a comedic actors role. His take on the subject is comedic if not naive in considering the potential depth of the issue.
