It's too bad that the Republicans have thrown out their liberal past. They were doing pretty good until they gave Teddy Roosevelt the boot for being to liberal. The parties began to switch ideals with Wilson, faltered, and then accelerated with Franklin D. Roosevelt. Truman tried for universal healthcare and other liberal ideals but was bested by the Southern Democrats. Kennedy and Johnson made great strides in liberalism.... Some Democratic improvements or support for: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare Reform, Food Safety, New Deal, Great Society, Peace Corp, Vista, Job Corp Civil Rights, Women’s Right to Vote, Equal Rights, The Voting Rights Act, Equal Pay Act, Motor Voter Consumer Protection, FDIC, Banking and Wall Street Regulations, SEC, Federal Reserve System, Anti-trust Legislation Funding for Science, Medical and Engineering Research, Space Exploration, NSF, NIH, Support for Public Education, Head Start, School Lunch and Breakfast Programs NLRB, 8 hr. Work Day/40 hr. Work Week, Overtime pay, Unemployment compensation, Protection for the Environment, Increased Numbers and Support of National Parks and Wilderness Areas, Endangered Species Act, FEMA, Veterans’ Benefits, GI Bill, UN, NATO, Marshall Plan, Vehicles Safety Requirements, Reduced Emissions, and Fuel Economy Standards (CAFE) TVA, Federal Loan Program, PBS, NPR. And so it goes, now the Republicans have Trump and that says it all.
Lol. Of course I am. You go back into history proclaiming results. Your choice. Im sorry you hate all the efforts the Republicans have done for social causes that the Democrats proclaim to embrace. I can't change history for you. Sorry.
Those are causes your party has chosen to abandon. Glad you're pointed out how far they've fallen. And tell us again about that Desegregation Act. Something you made up? BTW that last President of ours, the one with the dark complexion, was a Democrat, wasn't he?
Dammit, man, your facts are blowing modern stereotypes out of the water! How are modern dems gonna grab power and advance their elitist agendas if the people are educated??? If you don't keep quiet, you could end up helping to keep future generations from increased oppression. Probably no reason for concern though since your post is probably tldr for those who'd benefit from it. There's way too much meddling and resource burning in the govt for my taste. The real problem, imo, is the two-party system. Everyone in each party is expected to toe the line dujour. Anyone offering an individual stance is an outcast. I'd love to see the party system abolished and every candidate run as him/herself, spelling out stances on various issues. I think most who would like to see the country continue to prosper and have a dominant seat at the world table would be concerned about policies rather than arbitrary party allegiances. Laws would be reviewed every five years, and every vote supporting or dismissing a law would be accompanied by a written statement of reasoning all posted to the internet for public review. Citizens would become more informed and involved voting for individuals not parties.
Manufactured outrage derived from gossip is all this is. It's so pitiful. I care so little about what "insensitive" remark a celebrity may or may not have said. Oh America and your first world problems....
Oh, here we go, A roseanne free version got the green light ABC network announces Roseanne-free spin-off, The Conners
"The Conners" has been announced for this fall but why? The money will move on without her but I bet most of their audience is gone now. They liked it because she made them feel like they were not crazy racists. Now the man wants them watch after they caned her in a PC world gone mad.
I still say they should have her on the show, but in jail. Let the family visit for 5 minutes every other episode.
