    Greetings Ganja Gumshoes!

The online slander campaign targeting Pua Mana 'Ohana & our Genetic Specialists orchestrated by the failed mainland drug dealers of fake "Hawaiian Seed Company" from Central Oregon who lack the skills to compete with high quality dispensary medicine continues...

Now Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana by Pua Mana 1st Hawaiian Pakalōlō Seed Bank has been hit on Leafly by canna-cowards using the name Kerry Emerson to further their slander campaign against Pua Mana 'Ohana:

    Screenshot_20181119-071610.png Screenshot_20181119-071619.png

What is Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana?

"Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana, Pua Mana’s genetic specialty, is a cross between Hawai'i '78 (also known as the “Sweet Lady of Waiahole”) and Crockett Family Farms’ masterpiece, Double Tangie Banana. This pungent, tropical genetic offspring was then hit with a prized Tangie cut from the Pua Mana genetics library, resulting in an absolutely outstanding strain. Reeking of citrus, banana, and tropical flora, Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana stays true its name, offering similar flavors upon combustion or vaporization. But beware, as the potency of this resinous flower is not to be underestimated." ~ Leafly

Fake Review of Sweet Hawaiian Tangie :

    Screenshot_20180916-094349.png

Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana is still in development & has not been released to the General public making this review under one of our Genetic Specialists names the epitome of #FakeNews

Those here in Hawai'i who have sampled Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana know she is absolutely phenomenal:

    20171012_235640.jpg
(Sweet Hawaiian Tangie Banana by Pua Mana 1st Hawaiian Seed Bank is not even close to "larfy" as the fake review states & is coated with crystals & tasty tropical terpenes)

    "Regulators
We regulate any stealing of his property
    And we damn good too
But you can't be any geek off the street,
Gotta be handy with the steel if you know what I mean, earn your keep!
    Regulators! Mount up!
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon
Warren G was on the streets, trying to consume
Some skirts for the eve, so I can get some funk
Just rollin' in my ride, chillin' all alone
Just hit the Eastside of the LBC
On a mission trying to find Mr. Warren G.
Seen a car full of girls ain't no need to tweak
All you skirts know what's up with 213
So I hooks a left on the 21 and Lewis
Some Brothers shootin' dice so I said "Let's do this"
I jumped out the ride, and said "What's up?"
Some brothers pulled some gats so I said "I'm stuck."
Since these girls peepin' me I'ma glide and swerve
These hookers lookin' so hard they straight hit the curb
Won't'cha think of better things than some horny tricks
I see my homey and some suckers all in his mix
I'm gettin' jacked, I'm breakin' myself
    I can't believe they taking Warren's wealth
They took my rings, they took my Rolex
I looked at the brother said "Damn, what's next?"
They got my homey hemmed up and they all around
Ain't none of them seeing if they going straight pound for pound
I gotta come up real quick before they start to clown
I best pull out my strap and lay them busters down
They got guns to my head
    I think I'm going down
I can't believe this happenin' in my own town
If I had wings I could fly
    Let me contemplate
I glanced in the cut and I see my homey Nate
Sixteen in the clip and one in the hole
Nate Dogg is about to make some bodies turn cold
    Now they droppin' and yellin'
    It's a tad bit late
Nate Dogg and Warren G had to regulate
I laid all them busters down
    I let my gat explode
Now I'm switching my mind back into freak mode
If you want skirts sit back and observe
I just left a gang of those over there on the curb
    Now Nate got the freaks
    And that's a known fact
Before I got jacked I was on the same track
Back up back up cause it's on
    N A T E and me
    The Warren to the G
    Just like I thought
They were in the same spot
In need of some desperate help
The Nate Dogg and the G-child
Were in need of something else
One of them dames was sexy as hell
I said "oh I like your size."
She said "my car's broke down and you seem real nice,
    Would ya let me ride?"
I got a car full of girls and it's going real swell
The next stop is the Eastside Motel
    I'm tweaking
    Into a whole new era
    G-Funk
    Step to this
    I dare ya
    Funk
    On a whole new level
The rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble
    Chords
    Strings
    We brings
    Melody
    G-Funk
    Where rhythm is life
    And life is rhythm
If you know like I know
You don't want to step to this
    It's the G-Funk era
Funked out with a gangster twist
If you smoke like I smoke
    Then you high like everyday
And if your ass is a buster
    213 will regulate

And now a #Word Up motivational message from our sponsors #RealHipHop

    "Come on come on
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
Is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor and even worse I'm black
My stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
Pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
One less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope and let 'em deal the brothers
Give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
Two shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
Unless we share with each other
    We gotta start makin' changes
Learn to see me as a brother instead of two distant strangers
And that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
But things changed, and that's the way it is
That's just the way it is
Things will never be the same
That's just the way it is
    Aww yeah
That's just the way it is
Things will never be the same
That's just the way it is
    Aww yeah
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
Misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
One better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'Cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
And only time we chill is when we kill each other
It takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
The penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
Try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
Bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
Sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid, "
Well hey, well that's the way it is
That's just the way it is
Things will never be the same
That's just the way it is
    Aww yeah
That's just the way it is
Things will never be the same
That's just the way it is
    Aww yeah
    We gotta make a change
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
And let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
What we gotta do, to survive.
And still I see no changes can't a brother get a little peace
It's war on the streets and the war in the Middle East
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
So the police can bother me
    And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the blacks givin' it back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
Crack you up and pimp smack you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
They get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
My mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
And I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
Some buck that I roughed up way back
Comin' back after all these years
Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh
That's just the way it is
Things will never be the same
That's just the way it is
    Aww yeah
That's just the way it is
Things will never be the same
That's just the way it is
    Aww yeah

And now with a #Word Up #RealHipHop public #Service announcement #Hear iz the heart beat & soul who speaks for Hip Hop Himself Tha Blastmasta also known as Tha Teacha the one & only KRS ONE:

("M.C.'s Act Like They Don't Know" ~ KRS ONE of Boogie Down Productions from the boogie down Bronx)

"Clap your hands everybody, if you got what it takes
'Cause I'm KRS and I'm on the mic, and Premier's on The Breaks
If you don't know me by now I doubt you'll ever know me
    I never won a Grammy, I won't win a Tony
But I'm not the only MC keepin' it real
When I grab the mic to smash a rapper, girls go "Illlll!"
Check the time as I rhyme, it's 1995
Whenever I arrive the party gets liver
Flow with the master rhymer, that's to leave behind
The video rapper, you know, the chart climber
    Clapper, down goes another rapper
Onto another matter, punch up the data, Blastmaster
Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everybody
Call up KRS, I'm guaranteed to rip a party
Flat top, braids, bald heads or natty dread
There once was a story about a man named Jed
But now Jed is dead, all his kids instead
Want to kick rhymes off the top of they head
Word, what go around come around I figure
Now we got white kids callin' themselves niggas
The tables turned as the crosses burned
    Remember You Must Learn
About the styles I flip and how wild I get
I go on like a space age rocket ship
You could be a mack, a pimp, hustler or player
But make sure live you is a dope rhyme sayer
This is what you waited all year for
The hardcore, that's what KRS is here for
Big up Grand Wizard Theodore, gettin' ill
If you see then ya saw I'm in your grill with mad skill
MC's can only battle with rhymes that got punchlines
Let's battle to see who headlines
Instead of flow for flow let's go show for show
Toe for toe, yo, you better act like you know
Too many MC's take that word 'emcee' lightly
They can't Move a Crowd, not even slightly
It might be the fact that they express wackness
Let me show ya whose ass is the blackest
I flip a script a little bit, you ride the tip and shit
Too sick to get with it, admit you bit, your style is counterfeit
Now tone it down a bit
My title you will never get, I'm too intelligent
I'll send your family my sentiments, my style is toxic
When I rock and shock and hip hop it unlock your head, I knock it
It split quick from the lyric
Direct hit, perfect fit, you can't get with it
Some MC's don't like the KRS but they must respect him
'Cause they know this kid gets all up in they rectum
Slappin' and selectin' em, checkin' em, disrespectin' em
Just deckin' em, deckin' em, deck-in' em
Who in their right mind can mimic a style like mine?
I design rhyme and get mine all the time
MC's standin' on the sidelines, always dissin'
When I roll up and rush their crew they start bitchin'
    I don't burn, I don't freeze, yet some MC's
Believe they could tangle with the likes of these
Cross your t's and dot your i's whenever I arrive
Wide, magnified, live like the ocean tide
You dope, you lied, I reside like artefacts
On the wrong side of the tracks, electrified
Comin' around the mountain, you run and hide
Hopin' your defence mechanism can divert my heat-seeking lyricism
    As I spark mad iszm
The 1996 lyrical style's what I give 'em

"Higher Ground All you need to do is just figure it out the answers right in front of you so start looking around I know you’re feeling lost now like you’ll never be found but if you believe in yourself we can make it to higher ground.

So just figure it out the answers right in front of you so start looking around I know you’re feeling lost now like you’ll never be found but if you believe in yourself we can make it to higher ground.

I know hard times a lot better than most I’ve been to the bottom of the barrel struggling to stay afloat all alone in the shadows giving in to the cold getting so close to signing my soul to the devil losing everything I’ve ever loved and known let it go to far out of my reach and lost control thrown back tumbling from heaven got me hell bent on misery missions so broken wings are once again mended.

I know about insecurities and shattered dreams I know about jealousy envy and greed I know about broken hearts and bad seeds but what I don’t know is why its so hard to believe. I know about feeling suicidal tendencies I know about self pity and misery I know about being lonely in need so what I m really trying to do is help break you free.

You and I we can touch the sky as we gain full control of our inner mind said you and I we can touch the sky aim high leaving all of our problems behind say You and I we can touch the sky as we gain full control of our inner mind said you and I we can touch the sky aim high leaving all of our problems behind.

I know I’ve been there before taken as much as I could take and couldn’t take anymore. I’ve searched high and low anticipating opportunity behind every door.

Its time that you come to your senses break them barriers and topple them fences. I know the pressures of life can be relentless a day of a new bring a positive message.

You and only you can decide which road to choose. Be humble in victory and lift your head up when you lose. The battles there to be fought another day but the question is to stand and fight or turn and run away.

All you need to do is just figure it out the answers right in front of you so start looking around I know you’re feeling lost now like you’ll never be found but if you believe in yourself we can make it to higher ground.

So just figure it out the answers right in front of you so start looking around I know you’re feeling lost now like you’ll never be found but if you believe in yourself we can make it to higher ground.

You and I we can touch the sky as we gain full control of our inner mind said you and I we can touch the sky aim high leaving all of our problems behind say you and I we can touch the sky as we gain full control of our inner mind said you and I we can touch the sky aim high leaving all of our problems behind (If you chose take a chance and start all over again.) Its been a rough road and the worst ain’t over yet the more that we grow the colder it seems the world gets weighing heavier upon the shoulders every new step getting closer to the boarders of losing your grip just hold on and stay strong and it won’t be long till a better day is coming and were humming a new song.

Able to move on from the modern day tragedy successfully on top of your game believe me I’ve seen strength shining in the skies of your inner mind as I looked into your eyes all you need to do is find the same strength that I see inside yourself so vibrant the world has been waiting its time to be felt

    COURTESY THUD RUMBLE
Taking a turn with DJ QBert
    By Jason Genegabus
    jason@starbulletin.com
DUBBED THE "Undisputed King of Turntablism," part-time Hawaii resident DJ QBert returns to the islands this weekend to headline "Skillz" at Lotus Soundbar on Saturday.

    'Skillz'
    With special guest DJ QBert
    Place: Lotus Soundbar

    Time: 9 p.m. Saturday

    Call: 591-3500

Born Richard Quitevis, QBert is a product of the Bay Area, with more than 20 years of experience on the decks. After being recruited into the world-famous Rock Steady Crew in the early '90s, he joined forces with DJs Mix Master Mike and Apollo as the Invisibl Skratch Piklz to dominate at the DMC World DJ Championships.
QBert continues to tour the world in support of turntablism, but has also expanded his legacy to include the QFO, a turntable-mixer combo. The Star-Bulletin spoke to him last week to talk about his success with the product, the importance of DJs in hip-hop, and QBert's plans for the future.

QUESTION: Do you still live on Oahu?

ANSWER: I'm in California right now. I go out there to re-energize ... and then I can come back here and do a lot of business. My father is from Hilo, on the Big Island, so I've got a lot of relatives out there.

Q: Why is the role of the DJ so important to hip-hop music?

A: Well, I think the root of it is the music. The music and the drums are what drives the spirit, and the DJs are in control. They move people and make them want to dance.

Q: What is the biggest difference between a scratch DJ and the guy who spins at a club a couple of times per week?

A: There's a difference in skill. It's like chess players, (there are) guys who play the long games and guys who play the quick, one-minute games.

There are scratch DJs, and then there's also guys who produce. And then there are guys who produce and scratch, and guys who produce and scratch and mix in the club.

Q: You introduced the QFO (a stand-alone turntable/mixer combo) four years ago. Has that piece of equipment lived up to expectations?

A: Actually, it has. I look online, on MySpace, and there are tons of guys with QFOs.

When I was living in Hawaii, I would go to the beach ... hook up my turntable and mixers to my car, then ... look at the waves and scratch over there. The whole QFO idea came about because of Sandy Beach.

Q: What's up with your company, Thud Rumble?

A: Google approached us and gave us our own channel on YouTube, so we're making all these stupid videos. Actually, half of it is stupid and half of it is serious. We've got a bunch of cool scratching and performers on there. And then the other half is stupid stuff, like the old 'Turntable TV.' Just really random stuff.

Q: So it's an extension of the old 'Turntable TV' videos?

A: It still is 'Turntable TV.' It's just on YouTube now. It's knowledge for everyone, and we just finished another video that took about a year to make ... called 'Scratchlopedia Breaktanicca.' It's a huge dictionary with almost every scratch that we've come up with over the past 20 years.

Q: Are you still touring on a regular basis?

A: Sometimes we have big tours. A few weeks ago, we just got off a tour that was, like, two months long. We were all over South Africa and Europe. We just got back from Japan for a week, and now we're going to Hawaii and some shows in the U.S. It's very random.

Still speaking on da mic of the wheelz of steel here is the dynamic duo #Outkast of Atlanta Georgia originally from the Planet Krypton with a #Word Up public #Service announcement straight outta ATL down deep in dat Dirty South where da Dungeon Crew keepz it tru:

"As I sit in my b-boy stance
With flip-flops and socks, and sweatpants
We finna enhance your brain, check it out
Once upon a time not long ago
When the player from the Pointe didn't have no flow
A nigga hit me for my tennis shoes, walking to the sto'
Caught a nigga slipping, but now I lay it to the flo'
Just like carbon, cause I got the heat in my rhythm
Momma nay not, never bragging just to stay knot
Even when I was a younger lad I learned my lesson
Never talked to strangers in the trap and answered questions
The Pope and his folks got us under a scope
But for unknown reasons cause we don't sell dope
That you distribute, we don't contribute, to your clandestine
Activity, my soliloquy, may be hard for some to swallow
But so is cod liver oil
You went behind my back like Bluto when he cut up Olive Oyl
Two things I hate lies and thieves they make my blood boil
Boa constricted, on my soul that they call
Touched by the wheelz of steel
Now show me how you feel
Touched by the wheelz of steel
Now show me how you feel
It took your momma nine months to make it
But it only took a nigga thirty minutes to take it
Cut that kronk clean up I did, but I did so not safely
Don't want no AIDS, no claps, or no rabies
Yo, we take no shit, like, stopped up commodes
Gotta collect call, they done locked up my folks
Low blow, hit me in the left ventricle
We won't be able to ride out till two thousand fo'
But not for long cause we got a better sack to serve
Trying to take you other people for your rims at the curb
Fore you swerve and bust ya forehead, go head, go head
More head for me, while you ride to the beat
Drop, like Tears, like For Fears, you know
Shout Shout let it all out, just for my peers
And pupils who feel like it's time to unwind
    Like December 31st, on nineteen-ninety-nine
Touched by the wheelz of steel
Now show me how you feel
Touched by the wheelz of steel
Now show me how you feel
    Okay, like this, yeah yeah
One time for my boy doing King shit
Two times for Legit and it don't quit
Three times for my folks in the drop top
Four times OutKast and it don't stop
One time for my cause doing Queen things
Dead fresh to the teeth eating chicken wings
Three times for my guhls in the beauty shop
Four times OutKast and it don't stop
Touched by the wheelz of steel
Now show me how you feel
Touched by the wheelz of steel
Now show me how you feel

    "Well it's the M - I - crooked letter, ain't no one better
And when I'm on the microphone you best to wear your sweater
Cause I'm cooler than a polar bear's toenails
Oh hell, there he go again talking that shit
    Bend, corner's like I was a curve, I struck a nerve
And now you bout to see this Southern player serve
I heard it's not where you're from but where you pay rent
Then I heard it's not what you make but how much you spent
You got me bent like elbows, amongst other things, but I'm not worried
Cause when we step up in the party, like I'm out-you-scurry
So go get your fuckin' shine box, and your sack of nickles
It tickles to see you try to be like Mr. Pickles
    Daddy fat sacks, B-I-G B-O-I
It's that same motherfucker that took them knuckles to your eye
And I try, to warn you not to test but you don't listen
Giving the shout out to my Uncle Donnel locked up in prison
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit
Then everybody let me hear you say O-Yea-yer
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit
Then everybody let me hear you say O-Yea-yer
Now, my oral illustration be like clitoral stimulation
To the female gender, ain't nothin better
Let me know when it's wet enough to enter
If not I'll wait, because the future of the world depends on
If or if not the child we raise gon' have that nigga syndrome
Or will it know to be the hard regardless of the skintone
I really feel that if we tune it, it just might get picked on
Or will it give a fuck about what others say and get gone
The alienators cause we different keep your hands to the sky
Like Sounds of Blackness when I practice what a preach ain't no lie
I'll be the baker and the maker of the piece of my pie
Now breaker, breaker 10-4 can I get some reply?
    Now everybody say
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit
Then everybody let me hear you say O-Yea-yer
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit
Then everybody let me hear you say O-Yea-yer
Everyday I sit while my nigga be in school
Thinking about the second album at the Dungeon shooting pool
Like E-S to the P-N, cause we adjust to the beat in the zone (zone)
Honey I'm home but I'm not married
Carried a lot of problems around being frustrated
And now I'm sitting at the end of the month I just made it
Like you made the B team
And like the daddy's wife you making the coffee
    You heard the A-T-L-iens
So back the hell up off me
Softly as if I played piano in the dark
Found a way to channel my anger not to embark
The world's a stage and everybody's got to play their part
God works in mysterious ways so when he starts
The job of speaking through us we be so sincere with this here
No drugs or alcohol so I can get the signal clear as day
Put my glock away I got a stronger weapon
That never runs out of ammunition so I'm ready for war okay
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit
Then everybody let me hear you say O-Yea-yer
Now throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you like fish and grits and all that pimp shit

And now here is our Algonquin Native 'Ohana = Family of The People from the North American Continent on dat Planet Earth with a #Word Up #Message from our sponsor The #Great Spirit:

    :kissingheart:
    Algonquin Pow Wow
Pikwakanagan First Nation of Golden Lake
Ontario Canada North America Planet Earth

    North American Indian languages

    North American Indian tribes

What's new on our site today!

Yurok in California to the Powhatans in Virginia, from the Cheyennes in the Great Plains to the Naskapi Innu in cold northern Labrador. Obviously, the Naskapi couldn't keep warm wearing grass skirts like the Yurok, and the buffalo-hunting culture of the Cheyennes would have been useless to the Powhatans (no buffalo roamed the forests of Virginia!) Making generalizations about "Algonquian Indians" is difficult at best.

So what are you going to do about this homework assignment of yours? Well, that depends. There are three things teachers could mean when they ask you to do a report on Algonquian Indians:

    1) Maybe your teacher wants you to report on Algonquian Indians from your area, but doesn't know those tribes' specific names. For example, the Wecquaesgeek are often just referred to as "New York Algonquians" in textbooks. Especially on the east coast, there were many tribes who lost 75-90% of their people to smallpox and other European diseases. In most cases the survivors of neighboring tribes merged together. This history can make their identities confusing. If you know the regional location of the group of Algonquians you are looking for, you can follow these links to learn more about the general type of clothes and food and shelter they used. The Long Island Algonquians are generally Mohegan Indians. The New York Algonquians are generally Mahicans and Munsee Delawares. New England Algonquians include the Wampanoag in Massachusetts and the Mohegans in Connecticut and Rhode Island. Maine Algonquians are the Wabanaki tribes. Mid-Atlantic Algonquians include the Lenni Lenape in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and the Nanticokes in Delaware and Maryland. Virginia Algonquians are generally Powhatan, and Carolina Algonquians are generally Lumbee (Croatan). The Ohio Valley Algonquian Tribes are poorly known because most of them were destroyed by smallpox epidemics and Iroquois attacks, but the Shawnee survived and are probably representative.

There are many other Algonquian Indian tribes, including the Cree, the Chippewa, and the Blackfoot, but most non-natives know them by their real tribal names.

    2) Maybe your teacher wants you to report on the Algonquin tribe. Anthropologists invented these two confusing terms, intending "Algonquin" to refer to one specific language and "Algonquian" to refer to all the languages related to the Algonquin language (just as Germanic languages are related to German.) The Algonquin tribe call themselves Anishinabe, and they live in Canada. If this is the tribe you are trying to learn about, we have a lot of information about them on our Algonquin page.

    3) Maybe your teacher just doesn't realize that the Algonquians are not a single tribe. It is an easy mistake for non-natives to make. If there is enough time before your assignment is due, you can print this page out and talk to the teacher about it. Perhaps you can pick one Algonquian tribe to write your report about. If there is not enough time, maybe you could write your report on Algonquian people who live in your home state (as listed above). Hopefully that will narrow down your research enough that you can finish your project in time.

For your additional information, here are some general facts about Algonquian people, with our answers to the questions we are most often asked by kids and Algonquian pictures and links we believe are suitable for all ages.

Beothuk and Wappinger tribes, but the vast majority of Algonquian tribes still survive today.

    Which tribes are Algonquian?
The many Algonquian tribes include the Abenakis, Algonquins, Arapahos, Attikameks, Blackfeet, Cheyennes, Crees, Gros Ventre, Illini, Kickapoo, Lenni Lenape/Delawares,Lumbees (Croatan Indians), Mahicans (including Mohicans, Stockbridge Indians, and Wappingers), Maliseets, Menominees,Sac and Fox, Miamis, Métis/Michif, Mi'kmaq/Micmacs, Mohegans (including Pequots, Montauks, Niantics, and Shinnecocks), Montagnais/Innu, Munsees,Nanticokes, Narragansetts, Naskapis,Ojibways/Chippewas, Ottawas,Passamaquoddy, Penobscots, Potawatomis, Powhatans, Shawnees, Wampanoags (including the Massachusett, Natick, and Mashpee), Wiyot, and Yurok.

Where do the Algonquian Indians live?
Algonquian people live throughout the United States, from California to Maine, and throughout southern Canada, from Alberta to Labrador. Here is an Algonquian mapshowing the original homelands of various Algonquian peoples. (Remember that some tribes were forced to move after the Europeans arrived--there are many eastern Algonquian people who live in Oklahoma now, for instance.)

What language do Algonquian Indians speak?
Many different ones. See our page about theAlgonkian language family. You can also read an article about some English words that come from Algonquian languages.

All of the Algonquian languages are related to each other, but that doesn't mean the different Algonquian tribes could understand each other. English, French, German, and Russian are all related to each other, but a speaker of one of those languages can't easily understand the others!

What is Algonquian culture like? What tools and weapons did they use in the past?
Each Algonquian tribe had different cultures and traditions. Most Algonquian Indians made birchbark or dugout canoes for transportation by water. Here is a picture comparing Algonquian canoe styles. Northern Algonkian tribes used snowshoes and dogsleds to travel in winter. Here is apicture of Cree snowshoes. Hunters and warriors usually used bows and arrows, spears, and heavy wooden clubs. Here is a website with pictures and more information about Algonquian Indian weapons. Algonkian Indian children had dolls and toys, such as a miniature bow and arrow or hand-held game. Here are pictures of Algonquian games from the Mi'kmaq and Maliseet tribes. Most Algonquian mothers traditionally carried their babies in cradleboards on their backs--a custom many American parents haveadopted.

How were Algonquian tribes governed in the past? How are they governed today?
Each tribe had its own form of government. Most Algonquian tribes had some form of tribal council. Some tribes' councils were made up of the leaders of each village, others were made up of the leaders of each clan (large extended family), and still others were made up of warriors who had distinguished themselves as battle. Usually a principal leader, or chief, presided over the council. In some tribes either men or women could be council members and chiefs, and in others only men could do this. It depended on each tribe's culture. Some tribes didn't have chiefs at all--instead each village or clan had its own leader and they were all equal in stature. Other tribes did not have councils and the ruler was more like a king than a chief. You should look at the fact pages for individual Algonquian tribes to learn more about their governments.

    What were Algonquian homes like?
In most Algonquian tribes, each band lived in a village of small round buildings called wigwams. Here are pictures of Algonquian wigwams and how they are built. Algonquian tribes on the Great Plains used tepees for shelter instead. Some northeastern Algonquians built longhouses like the Iroquois. The California Algonquians lived in redwood-plank houses. Some Algonkian villages, particularly in the east, were permanent and had palisades (fortified walls) around them. Other Algonquian tribes were semi-nomadic and moved their houses frequently.

    What was Algonquian clothing like?
Traditional clothes, headdresses, and hairstyles were different in every tribe, and Algonquian Indians could tell each other's tribal identity from their style of dress. One article of clothing shared by all the Algonquian Indian tribes was moccasins. Here are some pictures of Lenape andChippewa moccasin styles. Algonquian men generally wore breechcloths with leather leggings, and Algonquian women wore skirts or dresses. In northern Algonquian tribes, Indians also wore a shirt, tunic, or mantle, but in southern tribes and in California, they went shirtless. Indian hairstyles typically included long braids for women and partially shaved heads for men. In the Plains Algonquian tribes, men wore feather headdresses. In colonial times, many Algonquians adapted European fashions such as cloth blouses and jackets, decorating them with fancy beadwork. Here are some of pictures of beaded Maliseet clothing. Today, members of most Algonquian tribes wear their traditional clothing only at ceremonial events such as powwows or a wedding. Here is a link to our page on Native American clothing in general, where you can find photographs and more links about these traditional clothing styles.

    What Native American food.

What are Algonquian arts and crafts like?
Each tribe has its own artistic tradition. One art form most of the eastern Algonquian tribes shared was crafting wampum out of white and purple shell beads to use as regalia, currency, and commemoration of important events. Like European tapestries or Celtic tartans, the designs and pictures on wampum often told a story or represented family affiliations. You can see some photographs and read some more details about these art forms at our Native American art site.

What kinds of stories do the Algonquians tell?
There are lots of traditional Algonquin legends and fairy tales. Storytelling is very important to the Algonquin Indian culture. Here is one legend about the flooding of the earth that is told in several different Algonquian tribes. Here's a website where you can read more about Algonquian mythology.

    What about Algonquian religion?
Religions are too complicated and culturally sensitive to describe appropriately in only a few simple sentences, and we strongly want to avoid misleading anybody. You can visit this site to learn more about Algonquian religious traditions or this site about Native American beliefs in general.

Can you recommend a good book for me to read?
There are many good books on the individual Algonquian tribes--visit our tribal pages to see some of our book recommendations. In particular, Abenaki author Joseph Bruchachas written many excellent historical fiction books for kids of various ages, most of which are about Algonquian Indians. We're especially partial to Dog People, a collection of short stories about Indian children and their dogs. (In most Algonquian cultures, dogs were considered an important part of the family.) Algonquian Spirit is a highly recommendable collection of Algonquian legends, songs, and stories from many different Algonquian tribes. For young children, An Algonquian Year is a good picture book illustrating life in the northeast Algonquian tribes. If you are a K12 teacher looking for a good classroom book with information about many different Algonquian tribes, we recommend Encyclopedia of Native American Tribes for elementary school students and A Native American Encyclopedia for high-school students. You can also browse through our reading list of Native American book recommendations.

How do I cite your website in my bibliography?
You will need to ask your teacher for the format he or she wants you to use. The authors' names are Laura Redish and Orrin Lewis and the title of our site is Native Languages of the Americas. We are a nonprofit educational organization working to preserve and protect Native American languages and culture. You can learn more about our organization here. Our website was first created in 1998 and last updated in 2015.

Hawaiian Trinity by Pua Mana 1st Hawaiian Pakalōlō Seed Bank released to the General Public through dispensaries & online in 2016 displays a moderate level of genetic variation indicative of a stabilized hybrid in only 3 years of breeding & backcrossing -- yet we are supposed to believe Hindu Sun by the fake Hawaiian Seed Company from Central Oregon has been here over 50+ years with a high level of genetic variation that is LITERALLY OFF THE CHARTS?!?

    Homie don play dat

    She came
There's blood on the streets, it's up to my knee
    She came
Blood on the streets in the town of Chicago
    She came
Blood on the rise, it's following me
Think about the break of day

She came and then she drove away
    Sunlight in her hair

    She came
Blood in the streets runs a river of sadness
    She came
Blood in the streets it's up to my thigh
    She came
Yeah the river runs red down the legs of the city
    She came
The women are crying rivers of weepin'

She came into town and then she drove away
    Sunlight in her hair

Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind

Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven
Blood stains the roofs and the palm trees of Venice
Blood in my love in the terrible summer
Bloody red sun of Phantastic L.A.

Blood screams the pain as they chop off her fingers
Blood will be born in the birth of a nation
Blood is the rose of mysterious union
