...because either the atmosphere, gravity, or magnetic field to it may be. What is seen is light reflecting off the planet to make it appear as though it's in space, but it's technically not, correct?

And the atmosphere, magnetic field, gravity can not be called earth because they are not made of earth. Just like the water of the oceans are not called earth. So dont let light reflection fool your eyes or perception when gazing from a space angle.

Inside the sun's light there is no space. Only when the light is blocked do you get to see and perceive space. If you defined space as whatever makes something float than water would be space. So dont go there. [IMG] So when the space shuttle is not on earth, but in the light of the sun (or even moon light or star light), it's not in space at all actually. Space can not technically be without the absence of a light field, heat field, gravity field, magnetic feild, and matter field. Anyone else get what I'm saying at how scientist and space exploration have it all so incorrect?

There has never been a person who has been up in space before is also what this is implying.

...to deny gravity and the electromagnetic force is like to deny the condom in safe sex. The next thing to get rid of is the weak force or the strong force, which in case you get rid of the strong force, you and the rest of the universe will probably explode.

I do have a serious question, though. Where do the stars and sun come from? having said that, they are just reflections which imply there are fires around you, however, if the sun is directly over you near the equator, you would be standing inside the fire which implies death or a miracle.

it why they woulnt release Water directly into space cause they are scared huh?
like If you spill a cup of water in space If would get massively bigger and consume the entire earth... just kidding.... nice post SR.... keep up the good work your stuff is highly suffisticate and very interersting...

The Earth doesn't float, it orbits, we are falling, correct?

The Earth is in space because thats more or less a point of definition. For sometime we have defined space as being the nothingness between the celestial objects. Of course how space is perceived has changed in the past we saw it as an empty void of nothingness between 'stuff'. By the end of the 19th Century it was filled with the gravitational field and the electromagnetic fields. These ephemeral fields permeating the whole of space attracting masses and propagating light. Now we know that the field is a mass of virtual particles briefly coming into and out of existence again. Far from being nothing the vacuum is just as busy as the Earth, just isnt quite as heavy.

Space is simply the vacuum that we live in. I guess you could say that the earth is wrapped in gases that are in space . But to say that something isn’t in space , you would have to define space and define what said object is in. Light is the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum , which is affected by gravity (which is also an unseen force in space. For example , light can’t escape a black hole because the gravity is so strong.

You are correct though in that space cannot be without matter. But electromagnetic waves , heat , gravity , light…etc..are all contained in the abyss we call space.

So if not is space , where is the earth ? Where do the space shuttles go? How are the live giving waters not part of the earth?

I guess you could try to define space as what is “ making the earth float” or “holding it up”. but to do that you would be implying that space has a definitive bottom to be held over or floating above.

No one with an education in physics will 'get' what you're saying.
