Thanks for the link. It's dated Feb. 20, 2018. Here's your statement I had thought you were stating that 27% of America thinks the March today was about gun control and 68% thinks its about mental health. I couldn't find anything listed at 27% nor anything at 68%, maybe I missed something. It did say 58% say stricter gun laws could have prevented the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and 77% think better mental health would have prevented it. 77% say Congress isn't doing enough. 62% say Trump isn't doing enough. ...and so on.
Half of all guns are owned by 3% of Americans. That’s roughly 9.75 million people. The AMC Theaters rewards program has 10 million members. Your kids’ lives are subsidizing a doomsday cult smaller than the group who gets popcorn upgrades at Black Panther. The NRA claims 5 million members. The Church of Scientology claims 8 to 15 million members, worldwide. Would you tolerate your member of Congress taking money from the Church of Scientology? The NRA is a fringe cult terrorist group
I get a kick out of how leftists come up with these extravagant labels NRA is a terrorist group Trumps a white supremacist Anybody who drinks milk is a white supremacist Milo Yiannopolis is a Nazi racist homophobe when hes half jewish and married to a gay black man Ben Shapiro is a Nazi even though he wears one of those little jewish hats 24/7 But Muslims who stone gays and women that have been raped should be welcomed with open arms
And the left is going to have to start making allowances for the fact that the Muslims hate Gays, Jews and Blacks. It's part of thier culture and they can't have anyone not be able to observe their culture. But hey as long as they can get them to vote.
Thanks for the link. Here's your statement again: Your link took me to statements made by David Hogg, one of the students in the Florida shooting. Nothing about 27 or 68% of anything, and he states the march identified at least three problems, a mental health care problem, a gun control problem, and an American societal problem.
Did you not listen to the ABC portion that states the numbers? 2 sources to support it and yet you still can't see it. A definite pattern here.
The mental health problem is real but not uniquely American. Same with substance abuse problems. What’s uniquely American is a fringe gun lobby with less members than Scientology has bought the government and push profits at the expense of American kids
Here's your statement again. Yes, I missed that, the video didn't load properly the first time I looked. You were close, 57% think the problem with mass shootings is because of inadequate mental health care system and 28% said because of inadequate gun control laws. So what is your point? In 2014 NPR did a survey that found that 26% of those surveyed think the Sun goes around the Earth. The results of neither survey necessarily make them true. If you are pointing out the ignorance that most Americans routinely exhibit. I couldn't agree more.
I now see I typed 67 in my initial post. That was meant to be 57. A typo isn't changing the majority outcome cited by ABC. And if you are a snowflake and are convinced that the 26% of the people that were in that NPR poll are right, no matter what, it's your energy to devote how you like. If that 26% makes 90% of the noise, they are still wrong. The other 75 % don't need to argue about it with them. And you're right it does reflect a lot of ignorance. But I never had any reason to bring that into question. It's pretty self evident.
As we haven't had much input...can we agree that there isn't anything we can do about changing the environment of streets, golf courses, and other outdoor venues that provide long range or close up assaults resulting in mass shootings? And can we further agree that nothing can be done about the home environment in regards to mass shootings?
I heard/read that there was a provision in the spending bill, but I can't remember where I saw it. Here is an article from NPR that says it's official. No more Dickey Amendment. That was one of the things Not and I both thought would assist in a realistic progression. At least I think Not agreed. We'll see what he says. here is the article from NPR: CDC Now Has Authority To Research Gun Violence. What's Next?
I'm not talking about returning fire with guns, I'm asking about the environment. Things such as metal detectors, door locks, bullet proof glass, etc.
In my opinion Trump had little to do with the changes to the Dickey Amendment. He only signed the bill under protest after threatening to veto it. He caved in after he realized he would get the blame for shutting the government down.
