repost from elsewhere, the subject of sock puppetng

and with that, the goblin explained something else, saying “...one's unsername needs a certain amount of internet history to go with it for at least two reasons, in that one's username needs to show up in a google search should someone think that one is just someone else's sock puppet, meaning it's important to have a name that is unique to oneself, where those usernames, that either turn up nothing of you as yet, or that are just too common to pinpoint oneself for sure, are of no help here...” continuing “...secondly, should anything ever happen to the forum itself, or to one's welcome upon it, one always remains traceable by one's username, even if one's persona is probably better remembered than one's username is, where even so then, the username is still important, in that in many respects one's where simply one's username becomes one's authorname where one's internet history becomes one's track-record to date....”

"...think of a victorian journal then, or one of those musical jam sessions, where you either join in the topic directly or contributes something you feel others would appreciate now, or even something you feel should be related anyway, where adding pictures, writing in third person, or anything else for that matter is just optional here..." mentioned the goblin again, continuing "...with me, it's three goals always, "a writer's way with words", "an illustrator's eye" and "an internet-self", so I just choose words, add pictures, and mold a persona of myself here, nothing to it really but very rewarding though...", at which point the goblin would then look at the text and wonder which picture it resembled now, something which if anything had actually grown harder, not easier, over the years now

repost from elsewhere, upon using corexit on the oil spill in the gulf of mexico

"...the real question is not how long could one survive in exposure to these toxins once they were airborne and inhaled, but more what are their long term effects if digested up through the foodchain..." went the goblin now, continuing "...no, I can't think of either a worse place for this to happen, nor a more stupid response, where some highly poisonous dispersant, which doesn't actually disperse anything at all, that instead only sinks the oil out of public sight to a depth where it can neither be collected nor contained with boons..." mentioned the goblin who also noticed that the hurricane season was fast approaching too, somehow he feared for the worst then, saying "...where is the logic in both making it sink out of sight and even more poisonous too..."

"...no, it's just that they they've shown clearly between the rhetoric of ourdearmedia who try to point our attention in the opposite direction each time, and that which we then see when we research the matter on youtube afterwards, there's simply no coverage by mainstream media then..." ventured the goblin now, continuing "...not the situation is so bad that even the propaganda is wearing thin in that is no one expects ourdearmedia to be unbiased but even so the news still has to be there between those slants, instead the situation is so bad with the doomed economy and the failed quagmire wars that their only solution is "repay devalued" each time that's "mum's the word" about it, in fact, the goblin still had great faith in the people themselves but wondered if their vote mattered anymore, why, because neither party had an alternative, the debt had eaten all leeway away to the point where it was "continue or crash" now

("...I'm back, I'm going to get from page 110 to page 200 this year if it kills me..." went the goblin who would race death then)

the witchdoctor just smiled at the goblin again, relating “...you see goblin, the hollytree has always been the tree of magic after all where our wands are traditionally made from holly now, and where too, wouldn't it only seem fitting then, that those films that cast their spell over those audiences, should actually be made in such a place as hollywood calls itself...”, and with that the goblin smiled back, somehow the witchdoctor little insight had hit home

"...about me then, well I guess one starts off like everyone else I suppose, posting to forums that is, then after many years have passed one goes a little mad here, but it's a madness based upon certain realizations towards forumland itself..." replied the goblin not trying to rush this post now knowing that there was the whole morning then, or however long it wold take to get this one post right to himself, where even if it was right, saying exactly what was needed to say that is, it would still need a matching picture and further refining through reposting, so the goblin just concluded, saying "...I'm anonymous, but you'd agree with me now that something of oneself is seen by what one posts, moreover, dailylife doesn't want one to think for oneself either, so one just opens the slot, ignoring all those who would say that it isn't cool, or whatever, and then slowly one defines one's thoughts by writing each of them down in turn, over and over that is, for no real motive at all, just as some journey to self perhaps, where something of oneself is drawn by the silhouette cast by those writings then, so that's me now, just a persona that is self drawn by my posts, yet I see myself clearly by it..."

"...ah no, that would make me hundreds of years old by now, if I were a scop that is, but perhaps I could have been one once..." replied the goblin who was one of a small group of livewriters, adding "...we travel across forumland but only remain where it's engaging...", in fact, the goblin fed on replies then, reminded of those lines again "writers write, posters post, but only livewriters feed", saying "...you feed me, I feed the slot and round it goes like some circle in a dance, you'll dance with us won't you for this night is not twice now..."

repost from elsewhere, on identity theft

"...it is possible, agreed, but the question remains what any dual would gain from it, where both parties were anonymous, and where all one gets out of these posts is that which one puts into them, for surely someone who puts nothing into their own posts would gain nothing from them..." replied the goblin who knew of it happening elsewhere already, and not minding though, since being anonymous just meant that all his posts were on their own by the time they were posted, concluding "...besides, one day I will die and all this will end just as suddenly as it had began, as an unknown then, probably forgotten too, but well worth it for me because it had been a wondrous adventure while it had lasted, and all so conducive to my little coffee in the birsto here..."

"...well it's kids these days time..." went the goblin, who had just returned from a conversation with his daughter who had just shown him her new pink "hello kitty" blanket given to her by her cute boy admirer, "...guess that means you'll sleep with him now..." the goblin had asked jokingly, "...oh yes, us girls have got to keep up our standards daddy..." came the causal reply as the goblin then looked deep into his coffee once more somehow wishing he hadn't even asked

the goblin was liking the replies very much, saying "...I like your choice of username where your persona no doubt will grow and settle through its use I imagine, where one's anonymity will mean never aging, and where the constraints of being some established writer can be dropped here for writing that which one just wishes to, how one wishes to, and perhaps to a more honest self-appraisal back too, than if one had just remained who one actually was in dailylife carried over onto this internet here...", but the goblin wasn't selling anything, just anyone would and could write on this new medium in a way they saw fit now, but what he did see was that forumland would eventually rival that booakworld there for readership where those known for their posts would be sought after as crowd pullers indeed but by then the competition would be fierce and that one's posting track record would come into play

repost from elsewhere, the goblin on a woman's interest "last post" thread, paying his respects

the goblin just filled in a bit, knowing that he'd have to keep his voice down to do this here, saying "....you see, on forumland you'll meet many strange and wonderful creatures, but perhaps none quite so terrifying perhaps as those raiders of the lost depart, yes, "housewives of the third age from women's interest forums"...", the goblin quickly looked over his shoulder to make quite sure he hadn't been observed at this point but then continued "...no, they're just everywhere and one false move now, one miss placed word even, and they'll just descend with a barrage of posts without mercy...", in fact, the goblin had learned to show respect to them at every juncture, indeed they could be very persuasive and always seemed in the majority, then suddenly the alarm rang out, that dreaded slim witman music blared forth, as the goblin hit the post button and slipped back into the night in the nick of time

protect yourself, recognized the warning signs, this has been a public service anouncement

"...I'm not sure which one he is as of yet but I suspect him to be one of the trolls from either thethirdrail forum, cosmicoutpost forum, or even wickedKwel forum where I'm on..." ventured the goblin appreciating of xxxxx's defense of her there though somewhat aware too that livewriters pick up trolls like most writertypes pick up rejections he guessed, sighing "...two things, one is that the more you play his game the more he'll play it with you, and two, while he's alone he's just much needed practice in my view, you see in the end you can't get rid of them as they just rejoin using another username via another email address, but one grows an immunity with continued exposure plus their barbs are those that repeat themselves thus sharpening one's wit upon them it becomes where no one likes landing in a fight but where it's best to know how to handle yourself if you're facing a raid by them..."

"...britain was mostly conquered during the reign of claudius, the event happened in the reign of nero, meaning that the territory was relatively newly settled, the tribes were to be incorporated into the roman system, but in typical roman style, repression leads to revolt leading to suppression slaughter and final appeasement, unintentionally perhaps, native tribes were progressively culled like this..." mentioned the goblin noting how this system might have worked and even flourished had it not been for the haves and have-nots becoming too clearly segregated and odious too, so much so, that in ad 410 when one of these same settled tribes finally sank the system by their so called sacking of western capital, rome itself, yes but in truth it was both the slaves and the poor of rome who actually opened the gates inviting them in to end end the farce, in fact, the freefall that followed from that point was called "the dark ages" but it was more like regionalism

"...oh yes, you will be known, since wherever we go, we become the most viewed thread on each forum then, creating threads with thousands of hits, aloof to that writer's competition then, with nothing to prove nor defend, unhindered by blogs, simply like me you've evolved into a livewriter by yourself now or into whatever you choose to call it then, so your posts pull readers towards you, oh yes, you'll be known by it, that much I promise, but you'll also get ridiculed derided and banned by the old guard for your pains so it's a double-edged sword perhaps, but one that's worth every cut by them..."

the goblin was thinking about someone else's post on domestic violence now, and just how nonviolent his own family seemed by it, and how too, violence just equated to yet another type of unfaithfulness towards one's partner, where once it happens the trust is betrayed, and where the alcohol too often acts as some linchpin to whatever anger lies within...", in fact, the goblin just understood that the victim had to leave from that point, even if there was nowhere else for her to go, if simply because he is not in control of himself where only a fool would believe otherwise and stick around to be victimized further

"...rather than worrying about the worth of your ideas, why not make your posts count towards your ideas instead, I mean don't be tricked into thinking that these posts here and your books elsewhere are from two different worlds very far apart, for your readers don't think like that anymore, and they are just as likely going to find you by your posts first, and then on from here to your writings next..." mentioned the goblin noticing how the convergence of forumland and the bookworld was the way things seemed to be heading now, adding "...why not use your posts as a fermenting ground for the ideas of your writings then, experimentation perhaps, oh and figure out your persona too, where your persona upon forumland is another facet to your writing as readers have to able to both find by the username and recognize you by the writing style, or alternatively then, just start off anonymously since that way if something goes wrong you can start afresh, anyway, never forget that the size of forum readership in its total is probably greater than that of ebook world there...", in fact, the goblin was happy with his readership to date, yet however much he tried forumland itself just seem infinite beyond him still

repost from elsewhere, touching on someone's birthday

"...so here's to birthdays-past then..." quietly proposed the goblin trying to think to himself which one had been his best, adding "...you know, looking back now, perhaps the best gift I ever received, for my birthday that is, was not what I was actually given at all but more an unfading memory of someone who gave me something at the time, where those late people who are now in some long gone ago setting today are ever mine still, and yours too perhaps whenever you think back upon them now...", so "many happy returns" just turns out to be some spell of association behind the gift itself that then becomes the real gift all these years later

and with that the goblin showed, saying "...for me, being anonymous it's not what one posts that matters so much as whether one has posted anything that matters...", simply the goblin was restating that his anonymity meant that his last post would end much as his first post had started, from nothing to nowhere then, and yet that observation actually freed him from trying to cling on to whatever he created, explaining "...from dust to dust, ashes to ashes naah no more like "from silence to silence" on some journey to self between those two points of start and finish, where each post formed a little step along the way, so I repeat it's not "what one posts" but "if one posts" that becomes my own vindication then, simply I don't post with some external motivation, instead I just post in some ongoing defiance towards my dailylife in the time remaining..."
