repost from elsewhere, goblin trying to give someone confidence then

"...ah no, don't care about the others and what they might think, writing is not trying to impress others anyway, where it makes no difference whether those whom you don't know here are impressed or not..." ventured the goblin again, continuing "...no, it's its continuation over its evaluation that matters most doesn't it, where hundreds of dud posts before the one that meets one's benchmark makes anything prior however bad worth it, whereas, conversely too, if it turned out to be a "perfect post" that you felt you could match afterwards, then that "perfect post" was in fact a useless hindrance to you...", simply the goblin was equating "posting" to being something like being on a "journey" here, where each individual post was a step along the way so to speak, where somehow the goblin knew that what people got to read were mere footprints of something real, an elusive mercurial creature that the author was following by his pen and but that never truly pinned down, so it was this journey then, and not those footprints that the reader then reads, that mattered the most

"...well in dailylife I imagine one's eccentricity is good until society locks one up for it, whereas on forumland it's just good until one gets locked out for it, though I wonder who amongst us would like to think of themselves as some drab normal anyway..." replied the goblin who felt himself to be very normal indeed as far as goblins went

"...today it's the first stage of zen then..." ranted the goblin at his stomach that was still churning from yesterday's whatever, adding "...besides, outside it feels ten degrees colder than normal here, so whether I have eaten something, or caught something, really makes no difference, in that, whereas normally I am going through the motions during work, today I am just working at surface level instead today where the man in the mirror would pass for a zombie...", anyway the goblin's imagination was firmly grounded at this point, saying "...I promise to escape my reality to somewhere else tomorrow, but today it's just the first stage of zen again, the stage where one makes one's mind as blanc as possible..."

"...nah, longevity was never the point of this life pixie..." replied the goblin, continuing "...for those stars are so stationary to us fireflies, whereas this journey to self seems all that more wondrous for its little short duration doesn't it...", where perhaps too the goblin was thinking back to all that he had loved in his past, those ghosts then, saying "...and how now I understand the value of that which I once had, whose loss within me has grown its value all the more, bittersweet perhaps but uniquely mine from its loss, so no, you can't take with you I know that much then, but then again just perhaps, and if you can hold something dearly enough to you, then one might be able to take it within you instead, wow that would be something now..."

"...one idea then is, that if one can't be on-line often enough, instead one can prepare one's posts off-line for the next time one goes on-line again, thereby blurring the line between on-line or off-line here, where for example someone's reply might be copied to the computer for formulating a reply, where if not, there is always that which floats up to one's mind off-line which can processed into something for a post later..." mentioned the goblin, adding "...so either way then, being on-line or off-line changes little to the post itself which merely is the final clearance of that which one has mentally sifted and sorted ready for posting here.." in fact, many had remarked that the goblin's posts were garbage, forgetting that these post was not meant to please them, instead they were here as proof to oneself that one had indeed processed something of life, where life was meant to be a feast, and where surely some post should result of it

repost from elsewhere, goblin doing the welcome then

and then the goblin welcomed yet another human to this forum here, "...I like that introduction indeed...", which somehow reminded the goblin of his own motto of invisible in dailylife, anonymous on the internet, in that the swiss historically avoided the limelight, and yet, here on forumland at least the goblin could have all the anonymous recognition that any one goblin could ever possibly envisage, saying "...actually, no one should ever be old and invisible on this internet, moreover, since no one can prove anything about themselves here anyway, so within reason now one could be whatever or whoever or however one wishes to be, where if a certain madness starts from this understanding then but bring on the madness now for I do love it so ..."

Love the exit-stage-right Raccoon. Reminds me of the way the old burlesque performers left the stage---sometimes.

("...hard to find the right picture for the post then..." replied the goblin agreeing with scratcho and liking that picture too, then adding "...for example this event happened years but the text collected dust because I could never find its picture and then the moment I came across this one I remembered the event and the text too, so finally it's matched now...")

repost from elsewhere, the mommies again

the goblin could relate, "...yes, you could do that then, or I suppose one could just create a batch file that posted an "I win" here each time one wanted to prove to oneself that one was feeding the slot from the depth of one's own imagination..." ventured the goblin remembering that ann summers store in newry, "...oh yes, the one where those women, in some estranged estrogen frenzy of course, fought to the death over the very latest trend in household appliances, before they all join in that "morris dancing" fertility rite extravaganza complete with their thermos, wellies and those sandwiches made from the most unappetizing ingredients imaginable to man or beast meant to just test the very sinews of the british stomach there, afterwhich, incredibly, they calmly board that number 9 bus again clutching their household appliances, probably the lastest "slot feeder here, together with the scalps of their vanquished foes in the process"..." mentioned the goblin always in aw at them once more, for such was the raw power of this shopping side of these otherwise docile mommies, "...anyway the golden rule I believe is just to say how much one likes terry wogan still..." mentioned the goblin in passing now, no more like in dashing off quickly by it seemed

"...there is room for both madness and sanity on forumland...", mentioned the goblin now, adding "...ah, but only the madness will be remembered, the rest makes too much sense to even think about, where both tragedy and comedy are felt because they go against one's sense of what should be, resulting in either anguish or laughter..."

the goblin liked that line now, replying "...I suppose it really just boils down to that idea of one's interenet history and having a uniform persona, where anyone wishing to find you will first search google under your username to find all those forums your are on...", where the goblin was often followed from one forum to another like this, in fact it was as if this habit of being across forums had actually turned these individual forums into one vast forumland instead, adding "...but to have one's uniform persona work to its full, one's internet history needs to be grown too, something which can only be created by being across forums now, otherwise that google search would turn up the forum one is on at best but more likely it would churn up tons of miss matches in place of you, and besides now, having only one forum with all one's posts upon it is like putting all one's eggs into one basket, I mean would you care to lose all your posts through some mishap then, you perhaps but not me now..."

"...I am not sure if a better awareness is an enjoyment as such, but I am at an age where most of those external pleasures now seem either hollow or at a steep cost upon reflection here..." mentioned the goblin, continuing "... where perhaps too, my life would be even more pleasurable if I didn't know the details of its workings by now but that's the trade-off of wisdom, just the pain of knowing the truth of it coupled with the satisfaction of knowing the truth then..."

"...I think that over time, one's persona has as much claim to be oneself as the person in the mirror ever has, where of course any picture by van gogh is not van gogh the person there, agreed, but even so, it is still the part of him that is most van gogh to me, whereas those other features are just those shared features with everyone else, no, it's his pictures that make him unique here..." ventured the goblin perhaps feeling that van gogh's painting had been his journey to self then, adding "...so, I wonder what he saw really by what he painted, guess we'll never know that then, but clearly that he knew himself better for his journey, where maybe if he had journeyed like that he had lived longer but that we'd have no pictures by him today..."

“...ah now, I suspect that all are in part part mad part sane then, where instead it's the disfunctionality with society that is the real issue here...” replied the goblin, continuing “...doesn't madness tend to be more emotional than sanity, being it's visionary, illogical, compulsive, etc., whereas that cold clear sanity seems ever more sobering by nature, more rational then, and where something we don't actually admit to ourselves is that it's this madness side of it that we actually crave for, thus we repeatedly do mad things against our better judgment throughout our lives...”, and with that the goblin thought about disfunctionality again, saying “...however, within society, those who are not in control of their madness are by that default disfunctional than where their uncontrolled madness, unlike our madness, causes enough friction within society to have them either locked up or treated or both...", thus the truth, for the goblin at least, was that most people have their madness more or less under control then but that in part they are still mad by it

repost from elsewhere, on the demise of forumland

the goblin showed up, and then explained "...naah, it's real hard finding those busy forums out there, in that most people want to be where other members are, yet understandably no one dares ask on any forum about other forums, for example it's easy to find startup forums from some support server whereas it's harder to find more established forums who feel no need to advertise themselves now...", in fact, the goblin felt there were other problems too, pointing out poster's selflessness as one of them, explaining "...no, most people mean well and often post for the sake of someone else here, or for the forum's sake, just tagging then, something that seems good in itself till understands that it is both misleading and unsustainable, that it is just charity posting so to speak, whereas they should be more selfish with a clear goal in mind as to what they want from forumland, thus becoming able to improve over time with practice towards whatever goal they have..." continuing "...oddly, another problem is everyone's wish to become admins in their own right, resulting in many new forums without enough members between them to sustain them, which leads back to the first problem again, how to find a busy forum where everyone instead is simply waiting for others posters to turn up upon their own forum..."

repost from elsewhere, one barb too many from the same poster, the goblin's "swot to bot" time

"...the duty of an opposition is to offer some alternative..." replied the goblin, continuing "...where if my posts are so crappy you only have to put me in my place and post something that puts me to shame here, I mean isn't that an easy enough proposition where the forum would gain by it too, bring it on then...", in fact, the goblin always read the posts, because they often fueled his mind to create something new by them then, adding "...and besides too, if this had been a blog, I would have no defense against your short sighted comments each time, but no then, this being an even keel between us, just an open to all comers thread, the audience just looks back at you now and says " so step onto the stage, show up the goblin there"...", and the goblin smiled another truth, saying "...do you really think anyone could get close to this kind of hitcount that these edit threads get with some lone blog somewhere, ah no, for you have feed me my thoughts of this post, where posts are born of posts too, so welcome to "livewriter's feeding-time" give it your best shot or leave it to the livewriters here..."

thanking xxxxx the goblin was well enough, yet the weather told a different story where the constant rain and cold simply showed the casual onlooker that the volcanoes were causing constant precipitation across the globe now, much to the dismay of the goblin below it now, saying "...for sure this winter will be cold to the extreme, history is quietly repeating itself today, but people have got so used to being told the news from the media that they don't see the obvious for themselves when and where it's no longer recited to them by way of that news there...", but the goblin also could see that across america too a poisoned radioactive rain must be falling still where the media never once seemed to mention anything that might alarm us, saying "...simply if the news is ever bad, then in reality of it is far worse, where the news with least importance is that which you are generally given by the media isn't it, it's like one has to go ok, what are they hiding this time to whatever they recounted over the media..."

the goblin enjoyed everything posted back here, as the slot seemed always hungry while the muse made her comments in the goblin's ear now, so it was never a wasted effort really, no, if anything sitting here for a small amount of his day helped the goblin appreciate his life all the more, saying "...well, I dare say I could live this life without much thought beyond my own personal concerns, yes I meet those types all the time, but I wouldn't recall or retain much of it if I lived a life like one of them then, where the word so cheap or just shallow springs to mind about them...", and now the goblin's short time was up again, as once more work loomed and those personal needs beckoned, "...can't be helped I supposed, for who can avoid the concerns of this dailylife but I'm dammed if I am going to live only at surface level each day, for my old age will only show me how I wasted my life simply playing snakes and ladders with this dailylife here, for no, contrary to everything you see around you now there is more to life than just dailylife, snakes and ladders is just a game at best, life is no game..."

repost from elsewhere, written in the heat of summer

the goblin welcomed xxxxx, where the summer of geneva's heat simply beat the goblin to his thoughts each time, so his focus at this point was more on self-preservation here, rather than on any self-exploration by it, saying "...oh no, not that I stop posting at this point, only that what I post is not out of the result of my usual cool collected reflection with both feet planted firmly on the ground stuff, no, these thoughts are more like that desert lizard, who pans two legs in the air cooling them while his other legs burn on the ground, swapping them while he still can till in the end the heat wins out and the lizard has to bury himself in the sand till things cool down a bit...", somehow the goblin too, was fast nearing his mental shutdown point, for the day looked beautifully bright to look at but it was actually hell to think in

alas, for this year too england was not to be the final then, whereupon the goblin then remembered 1966 where with a black and white television and his family all watching on as the last moments clinched the world cup title for that poor underdog england, where it, like the assassination of the president before then, and the landing of the moon afterwards, all formed milestones through the goblin's childhood years, unforgettable moments too, relating "...those milestones are still happening today too but it's not the same now, they don't stand out so much because my focus is wider, thus to be quite honest here even if england had actually won the cup today, it wouldn't have been nearly as big of a win today as it had been back in my childhood, why, because I knew little else and had little else too...", yet either way england always seemed better when it played the part of the underdog

the goblin showed up after a while it seems, saying "...I was a real man of action once, where today that sexual-contract seems to have both consequences and obligations that I can no longer afford of myself now, no not that I don't still recognize their beauty still, those curves of form, and my physical actraction towards them too, just that I value my independence more than I did back then...", in fact, the goblin was married but something inside him knew that if it were otherwise, he would not sign that sexual-contract again
