only the great wild never seemed to change in the goblin's view then, moreover, they say "never go back" and yet on those few times that the goblin had ignored that advice, the ghost of "what had been once" had seemed exorcised by that present he now saw, so the goblin just said "...think of past as near and it will be so, and forever too, however if you ever go back to your past it will be gone in an instant..."

"...you say you cannot win but no, anyone who posts wins here..." said the goblin, adding "...it's just that life moves on so one has to keep winning against oneself each time...", the goblin's mind went back to the reading mervyn peake's trilogy gormennghast, and seeing the author fighting parkinson's disease through his lines, so the goblin just explained it, saying "...well, the end is the same for us all, but I am going to that end winning against myself, winning the unwinnable perhaps but still winning while I can..."

if you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you, whereas if you do not bring forth that which is within you what you do not bring forth will destroy you a quote which shocked the goblin because although it seemed exactly the point that goblin was getting at by posting like this, it actually came from the gnostic gospels, so the goblin simply repeated "...when I look at the thread, it's a fun game with the others here but when I look at the slot itself, I am alone and it isn't a game at all, instead it's a journey to self now..."

afternoon, and the bistro claims the goblin once more, while around him from all directions is lots of noise of lively people where their banging of plates, cups and utensils fill the room with only imagined motion since the goblin has his back turned both to it and their chattering against the pointless radio music above, in fact, the goblin is about as unthere as possible then, so no, instead the goblin is quietly here on line posting something backstage before he does the rounds on those forum/venues he loves, one thing though, the goblin sits across from an old woman with parkinson's disease who has just eaten lunch, where of course it isn't the done thing to talk to her so the goblin just ignores her, and eye contact too is best avoided, and besides that, neither her nor the goblin would know what to say if they struck up a conversation, and then again what would they say if they ever met again, after all personal space in society is at a premium, "...and what if she turned out to be strange anyway..." muttered the goblin to himself, so this then sums up the fear that most people have about other people in dailylife, and is partly why the goblin himself has neither an age nor a photo on line, and then suddenly she calls for the bill, so the goblin and her momentarily smile at one another as she rises from the table which the goblin has pulled out toward himself to let her pass, "...thank you..." she says, "...you're welcome..." replies the goblin as she walks by as if some challenge has now passed, "...well city life is all this then, but my time on forumland won't be like this then..." the goblin promised, adding "...ok, so I won't talk to myself aloud, nor talk to strangers in dailylife, but I will do both upon these threads...", and with that the moneygod noticed that one of his minions was fast slipping through his cheap net of suburban reality to an open sea of forumland and beyond it now

repost from elsewhere, the "what did you do today" thread on a women's interest forum

well the goblin, this morning, had been abducted by cannibals, so he had to explain to them that, after years on his high caffeine/aspirin diet, really whichever way to cooked him, he would invariably taste of coffee so he suggested instead the average american housewife, who came ready larded, and with her grocery cart as an added bonus, one of the cannibals smiled with an array of pointed teeth, saying "...one question goblin, if they are so good to eat as you say why don't you eat them too...", "...well, I can't say that I haven't thought about it I know, but I have these cavities, so caffeine and aspirin are just easier to prepare..." said the goblin, merrily waving them on and goodbye

the goblin's ghosts made a queue to be posted here, the first one said "...I was the you in the troubadour coffeeshop remember, you would learn languages there only to then say goodbye to everyone leaving them for that disco alone where you danced for hours until finally the disco closed and still alone you walked home along the thames river bank, you had the light body of cat that belonged to the night with its two moons like eyes, one reflected in water to other in sparking night sky, yes, you had your full youth, your power and in that ever intense silence and freedom you had in an overwhelming sense of self existence too, didn't you goblin, all cloaked in a "warm night" that as if gave itself to you its partner...", the ghost fell silent now, looking at the goblin the way people do when they are powerless, so the goblin just promised "... no don't worry ghost, I will never go back there looking for my past body of you, I am not that stupid..." a smile, perhaps even a tear came across ghost's face, and with that he slipped back into the depth of that darkness where the goblin's memories reside

the goblin was happy by default saying "...honestly there are so many ways that I could be unhappy...", and either way the goblin, in some moment of madness, had signed some muse's pact which just went honesty, a shared life and a thick skin, so he simply repeated "...to live is to win, to post is to win too, but to build up those posts is to triumph...", the slot wondered what was for desert then as the goblin just enjoyed the calm of his "coffee-computer-self" triangle "...no idea slot, but I'll come up with something, you won't go hungry..." promised the goblin but it was never the result anyway, only the means to that result that mattered to him

the goblin wants to be by the seaside now, he wants to paddle the cold retreating surf just above those crashing waves looking for that ever elusive carnelian that shines with the reflected setting sunlight on his way homewards, somehow the goblin knew too that if he ever found that gem it would be a gift from the great sea herself to him alone, something worth far more than anything a jeweler could ever offer

"...this may be like a "last post" thread but let's hope that there is never one's last post upon it..." voiced the goblin to himself on the balcony under a clear silent moon, for tomorrow he had yet another day to the mountains, and yes he would need every edit thread going to stop him somehow slipping into a resentful sanity, "...no thanks, done sanity, been there far too often for my liking, and now I need escape again..." voiced the goblin out unto the ever observing darkness, "...ah yes, but your escape returns you ever back to your reality goblin..." it seemed to reply without actually wording it

the goblin, at this point, walked alone along a beach in his imagination where, having come across a washed up stick, the goblin suddenly wonders what he could write across the wet sand on this windy day, "...well, aren't you wasting your time impudent goblin..." came a very old voice somewhere outside him "... surely, you know very well that I will just wash your scribbles away with the next tide..." came the mocking sea's voice carried through its waves faintly under in the sea breeze on to the still goblin, it seemed to continue "...go ahead and write, write and be dammed for all I care since I will only wash it away..." the sea repeated again and again to the goblin who after a long while moved the stick slowly across the sand writing "for now I know the gods must envy us our mortality", after which the goblin ran up to the waves and flung the stick to the sea retorting "...ah but I, in my one little moment, can write on this sand, so take this stick and show me what it is that you, with your forever, can write then..." but the stick just floated in the water, perhaps to drift back to the goblin, perhaps not then, as the goblin walked on passed that day but never really far from the grip that it held on him still

in fact, the goblin couldn't remember if moriarty too, survived the fall from the top of the reichenbach waterfall, that is to reappear in another sherlock holmes journal later, only that in the original book they both die at that point, but it then turned out that the subscribers to the journal wouldn't accept the loss so doyle was forced to bring back holmes in his next episode, "...but those overall points, that I made in that other post, stand, that recognition can trap an author into compromising and that readers often move on regardless remain even if there is always a wish to be liked and to be supportive on one's part..." mused the goblin, once more late for work, to a backdrop of some ominous rain clouds that hovered above a city that seemed to simply bristle with its own preoccupied boredom, "...morning geneva, well if those scientists have got their sums wrong we're going to be sucked into CERN's black hole today, which would make a change I suppose..." voiced the goblin to the ever unresponsive city street

"...sounds exciting at least..." said the goblin, whose life was one of a tourist guide and computer repairman on the outside, though that he knew had little to do with him on the inside since he felt he could become anything he liked if he tried hard enough, "...forumland is like a masked ball..." said the goblin adding "...why, is anyone ever old or poor or ugly on forumland then, is it only because they insist on being who they see in the mirror maybe..." reflected the goblin adding "...who knows perhaps the dailylife me is just another mask too, as his mind flashed back to alexandre dumas's book "...am I just this iron mask given to me at my birth by my maker, or is there a real me behind all this then, if so that is the face that I am looking for here..."

the goblin welcomed xxxx to a seemingly normal site with average members, perhaps guessing that somehow she too had realized that something was amiss here, that they were, all to a man, KGB agents just practicing to be humdrum housewives, "...yes, your asking yourself how in your heart you knew this all along, that is how when comrade admin appealed to her fellow proletariat members to rally up against the constraints of capitalism, you couldn't buy into the hidden bolshevik ideology here..." said the goblin pausing for the exact words again, he continued "...no, like me, you didn't fall for it because their deception was in its way just too perfect to be real so it had to be false then...", "...brilliant holmes..." came the voice in the background as the goblin's three pipe solution was once more pressed into his pipe "...elementary my dear fellow, no one can post on this forum longer than three weeks without going mad, and the rest was just a simple deduction from there then...", somehow the solution smoldered away in the goblin's mind now

repost from elsewhere, a british "last post" thread

in fact, the goblin liked "fish and chips", but they had to be like "god handing down a lifeline in the cold british weather" now, as his mind once more shot back to his "well now, do I wipe my greasy hands on my trousers or on my girlfriend" age, though that was long long ago now

repost from elsewhere, the goth's "last post" thread

the goblin could well be goth here, where he always tried to post in the spirit of the site, wearing the specs of the site as he called it, saying "...truth is that we are all anonymous here, for simply the onlooker has no way of knowing if someone is as they claim to be, but does that matter I wonder, I mean must one be reduced to what one sees in the mirror each time, an age, these clothes, a bank account, an education, etc., and all those other irrelevant pigeonholes of dailylife....", the goblin paused, felt within for a moment, and then continued "...surely, on forumland all that really matters is the honesty of one's posts to oneself, meaning that since this is a goth site, I try for my darkside now...", then the goblin just repeated something, saying "...any paraphernalia is just for those who are still defining themselves in terms of others, by their externals perhaps, by what they see in the mirror then, but isn't all that just an unneeded mask here, so who are you really, where I'll never know who you are now, but isn't something of yourself actually mirrored in your posts, and not by anything else..." and with that the goblin went back to creating his persona once more as a reflection of self here

("...something for GLENGLEN then..." went the goblin posting it)

    repost from elsewhere

"...must admit, actually living in australia must be the nearest thing to living on another planet now..." mentioned the goblin, feeling that there is always something that came across as somewhat surreal in the context of a "normal life" lived in such an abnormal environment, where here in chamonix today, it was minus 8c outside, so in fact, the goblin wouldn't mind living in beautiful australia, save that he didn't want to check the toilet seat each time, explaining "...yes, I imagine that if I ever got to those pearly gates, I could brag about being ravished by a bear, or eaten by a lion, but imagine having to say "actually I was bitten on the bum by some little spider", I mean whatever happened to "death with dignity"..."

repost from elsewhere, the goth's "last post" thread

the goblin welcomed the new poster saying "...participate in any way you wish, as anything you post here is a win then, and this thread, unlike someone's blog, doesn't have some central character, simply, it is a round table where all posters are equal, and where nothing is abnormal here since it is just you...", at which point the goblin just added, "...actually I am on a few goth forums now, and how they just go in for the paraphernalia of goth without going anywhere near its spirit which others mistakenly call emo...", in fact, the goblin was just grateful that the goths here had allowed him to continue this far then, saying "...ah no, perhaps one could buy goth in the shop somewhere, or change one's looks to become gothlike perhaps, but simply that would be selling it, and oneself with it too, cheaply to fit in with the criteria of those fashion-guru's, just paying for it to the moneygod again, so no, instead I have to step back a bit from my dailylife each time and ask myself "where am I in all this then"...", but the clock was calling the goblin away now, though he promised to return, saying "...so my journey to self continues where it's just step by step in post by post becoming the real me perhaps, the one I've yet to know..."

repost from elsewhere, about immigrating to oz, goblin declining

"...ah no, me, I am going to live on the internet instead..." replied the goblin, adding "...oh yes, the old fart creates me still, though if he creates me well enough, I will take over from when he exits, well as a livewriter till that moment then, and just as a written work after that I suppose..."
