the goblin casts his heart after his thoughts elsewhere and still that cold slowly creeps into his soul, somehow the image of the snow queen laughing wildly down the frozen high-streets dispelling ever more handfuls of diamond dust from her open sack to the words "...ah now, you wanted beauty mortals, but as always it comes at a price doesn't it...", and admittedly geneva did look beautiful for its white coat today, save the snow queen's price was ever cold to the touch

the goblin wanted to support this site and therefore felt that some pictures were in order here, saying "...well yes, the pictures are there to help people with reading difficulties, whereas the texts are just there for those with mental problems, and for those with both I suppose I could link them to MTV if they so wished..."

("...join me GLENGLEN, keep me company and this thread might reach 10,000hit by christmas, just as it might reach 100,000hit in three years time, yet anyone can do this, only that they don't, where I have no motivation to write here, only that I do..." smiled the goblin hoping that things would continue but knowing too that all was transient with a cut-off point)

whatever happiness the goblin had was tempered by a certain sobriety and by his growing acceptance of the actual uncertainty of his future, all something understandable even, explaining "...you see, the further back I go into my past the more I seemed to hold sure upon a lie, perhaps knowing it was just a lie all the same, and yet I believed in its simplicity as one would believe in either god or santa, and even now, that child in me craves for that lie that the rest of me can't or won't accept any more, the child craves its american dream still with those safe perimeters of work, family and home...", where all along the belief was a measure of one's doubt too, since it meant that one didn't know now, where now today sobriety and age has simply shown the goblin that the american dream is a facade and that nothing is either that simple or that certain, yet that belief had been comfortable compared to this sobriety of today's understanding that all is uncertain except for one's own exit, whereupon the goblin, concluded "...and, although I can't interpret any of this present day sobriety as happiness, which it isn't, at least I am grateful to be able to accept this remaining life for its uncertainty then, an uncertainty that makes it much more real to me because it is tinged with unhappiness too..."

the goblin, at this point, is spinning around a planet that goes slowly going round a sun in an ever expanding universe, that is, while seated typing at his desk with his ever faithful coffee, the one which rests beside his "internet access portal", his laptop no less, "...you see, like you, I was traveling through space in this dailylife..." ventured the goblin whose thoughts now seemed to carry him across the very ether of this internet here, adding "...oh yes, but this is just so much more faster now..."

the goblin always enjoyed his mask of anonymity when performing on forumland, adding "...real names and photos are so dangerous since one never know who might be interested nor why neither, and besides, surely one doesn't want to drag in one's dailylife self onto forumland when one is trying to create a lasting persona through a mixture of one's avatar, username, writing style and forum allegiance...", so perhaps the goblin was harping back to that question of why wear one's dailylife mask on forumland here, where absolutely nothing can be proved about oneself anyway, "...so welcome to our masked ball of forumland goblin..." went slot's inviting voice with a wide open smile once more, continuing "...where only one's own mask will do of course, and yet, who amongst us can portray themselves as they really, moreover who would believe you that it's really you here anyway where all that is ever here are judy these words between us..."

"...ah that's better, I've now done all the requested chores and more...", said the goblin somehow knowing his wife, the captain then, will still complain, either that something else was not done, or that whatever was done was not done well enough, on a good day that is, otherwise she might complain about both then, which is perfectly acceptable because if she actually thanked him, the goblin understood that he'd then have to phone the hospital to say that she must be very unwell indeed and not herself at all, and whether too, they could send an ambulance perhaps

"...I am thinking of all those household chores I promised the captain to do before she returns knowing that I will need some soul searching questions to deflect my mind from its mundane reality while still doing those chores then, something like "is art is the fruit of frustration, discuss" or "is secrecy is the seat of power, discuss", etc.,..." ventured the goblin knowing that he would be doubly owned if his mind was also doing those chores too at the time that his body had to be doing them

the goblin had agreed to be himself here, knowing full well that he wasn't really that person in the mirror either, saying "...two sides of the same coin I suppose, neither my internal nor my external can really claim to be more me, for the first one I know well as my dailylife me, while the other me is here now as this persona then, produced through what one writes mostly, and to a lesser extent by one's unsername, avatar, and forum affiliation..." mused the goblin as he continued "...so it's not that one actually lives a lie like this, no it's more simply that, since one can't prove one's identity anyway, one selects the identity or that level of truth here that one feels most comfortable with, yet let's admit that everyone does that in their dailylife too, only that there is less leeway to do so there, simply we hide our heart from our sleeves then, though often enough we're probably hiding that same heart from themselves too..."

repost from elsewhere, the goblin's blog

“...hello there...” says the goblin addressing the matron in dungford's very own, and one and only, heathfood shop again “...I would like a meaty coffee where one's mind goes ping after a few sips, you know, a coffee with a body like a tigress whose bite is more like dracula's...”, “...sorry, is that regular or decaf dear cause I'm in a hurry...” replies the matron whose ominously large cups came into view behind her, “...no I mean a little cup, boilingly hot mountain fresh water and those thickly brewed sensual coffee grains strained to the point of perfection...” uttered the goblin in panic now, “...well I'll see what we can do dear but..., ...”, moments later “...here you go love...” as one large but near empty cup is steadfastly landed on the table whose contents just seems to laugh at him daring him to drink it, while the slot seems to say “...look, I hope you don't mind me saying this goblin but I do feel that our vessel of escapism has somewhat crashed on these rocks of reality this morning...”, some time later the matron bellows across to the goblin the usual “...well love, what ya think how was it, fancy another one then...”, “...well you english make absolutely exceptional coffee but I'll give it a miss this time, thanks all the same though...” replies the goblin aloud as he writes in the slot to keep it from busting its guts out loud in the laptop, “...well slot, they say "lie back and think of england" don't they, so that what I did, and I still think the village of dungford as some huge unwinnable battle here...”

the goblin is playing dead at his desk again, where any sudden rush of frantic tapping fingers might betray his whereabouts to that captain he married watching television in front of him, "...you can never be too careful you know, one false move and she'll set her household chores on me..." whispered the goblin, in full stealth mode, whose motto seemed to be invisible in reality, anonymous in virtual reality

the goblin doesn't have bad days, "...to be able to post means that it is a good day..." said the goblin, confessing that some good days were more soul-testing than others because there was little love lost between the goblin himself, his dailylife and the moneygod, in that what the goblin wanted was an impossible freedom, while what dailylife wanted was all so very reasonable but all so superficial too, while what that moneygod wanted was ones continued commitment to some cheap slavery, so the goblin was just trying to square this triangle then

the goblin was thinking about those toxic banks, seeing only three basic paths here where none of them seemed ideal, "...first the government could keep on injecting tax payer's money into those banks as america has done, meaning that the banks would then have no real incentive to correct their ways since the banks would interpret it that the government would continue throwing good money after bad regardless..." explained the goblin turning to the other two paths now, continuing "...or the government could nationalize those banks, as the british have done, which would still mean using tax payer's money, resulting in a weakened currency where the burden of debt has been transferred from those bank to the state itself, spreading the doubt across from the banks to the wider economy...", whereupon the goblin, thought upon the last path now, explaining "...now the Swiss, in fact, do not have enough money to bail out their banks, so their banks would have to go to the wall where all those who had put their savings into those banks, would lose all by it...", and no the goblin didn't wish to choose here, no he wasn't even arguing that any one of these three paths was better than the two others here, only that he wanted to define for himself the nature of the crossroads facing governments the banks and the system at large, while still knowing too that the time sitting at the crossroads was fast running out

repost from elsewhere, the "what are you thinking" thread

the goblin was thinking about those men who buy women for their need, wondering which emotions must be going through their minds, guilt, release, fantasy, hate, self hate and hypocrisy, "...anyway, it's simply mad to think that one can be so cheap and walk away feeling much good about it afterwards..." ventured the goblin imagining how those types must divorce themselves from their actions by dismissing it as some lapse of their character, something like "the usual me" against "some urge in me", "...but alas that excuse mechanism is to be found in many parts of society where one goes against oneself..." mentioned the goblin, wondering if it explained split personalities then, or those personalities that seem to flip over from one extreme to the other like a facial expression on a clown here, jakal/hyde in action perhaps

repost for "what are you thinking" thread

the goblin is thinking why it was so important to be oneself, and to say "fxxk'em" about people who have no way of knowing what is going on in ones own mind, "...all you have is your own thoughts, once those thoughts are surrendered to what people expect from you as their norm, once that happens, then no matter what you wear, what tattoos you might have, what swear words you might use, whatever, you are as good as invisible to them and worse still, probably invisible to yourself too..." said the goblin adding "...but once you have your own self back, once you can see that one doesn't have to buy into their fashion to make oneself visible, then one probably is visible, and for the right reason too..."

the goblin was thinking, that when one's emotions are stirred, one is distracted by it, that is, by something brutal happening in front of ones eyes, from something more sinister yet less painful actually happening in its background,"... for yes, what is happening in the middle-east is unacceptable, but one shouldn't be sidetracked here form keeping those eyes firmly on that downturn of the world economy now, which I hope most people will agree here, is more likely to effect them directly now..." mentioned the goblin not wishing to offend anyone, only feeling the need to point out how the media works, saying "...it's a bit like what acupuncture does for anaesthesia, where one sharp pain distracts one from another greater one..."

the goblin is redoing today those habits of yesterday before he redoes them again tomorrow, saying "...force of habit is a prison that doesn't need bars...", to which the goblin then added "...what changes with time is one's ability, and one's perspective with it, otherwise it the same thing year after year...", not that the goblin minded where there was no choice, in that one had to eat, sleep, bath and the like, but there were other less obvious habits that, if not seen to, would simply continue unseen like that skin cancer that one doesn't feel until it is too late, "...me, I'm stocktaking my habits this morning..." replied the goblin in answer to that question "what are you doing", and the list of habits was quite extensive

"...and so, all I really need to preform this simple spell against my boredom here is to create a triangle now, a triangle whose corners are coffee/computer/self where from within this triangle then, and with enough practice too, I can conjure up absolutely anything I want in any way is wish..." ventured the goblin making it all sound ever so easy, adding "...well of course no one can conjure up much to start with, though just imagine what someone might finally conjure up if one kept at it for the rest of one's days...", where the resulting work on the page was merely a benchmark of something else, no the real magic is what one experiences within one in the process

repost from elsewhere, written over new year then

the goblin was happy, and then, as if to prove it the goblin blurted out "...let there be self here, no, this year I don't want to just live, I want to be alive for real, where I want to be both creative and productive, oh and not just see myself in terms who I see in the mirror, or my bank statement, whichever social status I hold, and all those other cheap short-sighted definitions that this dailylife and that moneygod pigeonhole us in, and alright, what happens in life happens but my self-pride and real happiness come from building up one's own set of values, one's own opinion too, and above all one's own awareness here...", while outside, from the window of his sitting room, the view was of a dawning sun slowly rising across the icy rooftops of the sleeping city of geneva, and somehow looking upon that view the goblin just concluded "...yes, something like this view now, that's my new year's resolution for sure, my dawning of the self here perhaps..."
