Who said that? But they might be responsible for some of the violence. Anyhow, that's what the governor of Minnesota seems to think. But what does he know. He's not from Australia.

Didn't I just do that? The "mysterious report" was a news conference delivered on live cable tv this morning in the U.S. Maybe they didn't get that in Australia.

What "report" are we talking about? I was talking about the Governors statement delivered this morning on TV. You want me to dig up a verbatim trascript of something I heard and saw with my own eyes and ears and provided news links to? Why don't you do that? By the way, your characterization of the statement as :mysterious" is mysterious. What's so mysterious about it? That's what he said. And it was elaborated on by the state attorney general.

This was the perfect storm, 40 million unemployed in the US, a worldwide pandemic, eight weeks of lockdown, The Breoanna Taylor shooting in Louisville Kentucky, The Ahmaud Arbery shooting in Georgia, The George Floyd strangulation by a white officer in Minnesota, it only makes sense that Minneapolis is the hotspot since they have a long history of mistrust of the police.

Philando Castile was shot seven times after his vehicle was pulled over by a white officer.

Despite overwhelming evidence of guilt, the police officer was ultimately acquitted of all charges by an all-white jury

So, when you post 4 links like that, you don't even bother reading them?

Four quick links so it just looks like you've done your homework

"Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said he is aware of unconfirmed reports that gangs of white supremacists are taking advantage of the anarchy unfolding in Minneapolis to create more chaos.

The comment came during an early morning press conference Saturday in which Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and members of the law enforcement community laid out plans for containing the destruction that has spread through much of the Twin Cities.

When asked by a reporter if Walz was aware of rumors that white supremacists had joined some of the looting he said based on "my suspicions and what I've seen on this, yes."

So, we are just talking about a feeling Walz has?

Or probably more accurately, just shit he throws out to deflect away from the realisation it's not controllable at the moment

My post was:"A lot of folks doing the looting are probably opportunists there for the loot. Some of them, more disturbingly, are anarchists and possibly white supremacist (Minn. governor's report) opportunists there to cause havoc." That seems to be consistent with what the governor said. I didn't say he was right, and the "outside agitators" theory has a bad history. But what I said was accurate, and what you've said since seems to be really, desperately trying to to make a mountain out of a molehill and start a fight. Are you saying the governor and his attorney general and the mayor of Minneapolis couldn't possibly be correct in their assessment, based on the people who were arrested last night, most of whom appear to have been out-of-towners? Or that it would be wrong to give them even possible credence? Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and other officials have suggested that organized outsiders, including but not limited to anarchists, white supremacists and gangs from other states, were behind the destruction and chaos in Minneapolis. “We are now confronting white supremacists, members of organized crime, out of state instigators, and possibly even foreign actors to destroy and destabilize our city and our region,” Frey tweeted Saturday. Dueling claims: Trump blames Antifa for riots, Minnesota officials point fingers at white supremacists, cartels

    Rioting is justice.
But going to the park or beach with your kids without masks is dangerous

This is the logic of modern liberalism

I don't know that anyone believes that. & the anger is real.

I can say for myself, I don't like the riots. It actually hinders progress in my estimation; though nothing seems to work.

Nothing like good old political polarization though! :D If this is only about some 'liberals' it's easier to ignore than when it's about a system wrought with violence and abuse. The murder of George Floyd, who was unarmed and posed no threat. Who complained of not being able to breathe.

I don't think we should allow this issue to become one more partisan bickering match!

This is really about George Floyd.

  14. No doubt, but he's not the mindless sort we got from GW. Trump is smarter than the entire Bush family as far as I can tell. But that's not a very high bar. Not that it matters, the democrats routinely miss the mark because they have the audacity to think they are smarter than everyone else.

Which left them wide open for a guy like Trump in 2016.

Maybe the polls will be better this time. But I doubt it. Biden is turning into Prince Valium before our eyes.

I felt okay with Bush. This is definitely not that...

Maybe it was my age. I couldn't give two shits about politics at that point. I remember though... I don't know if anybody else saw this. He was trying to say something about Mexican Americans or Mexicans and he could not maintain his composure. His inflection wreaked of stereotypes and you could smell the hate... It was really bad. I remember two words: "the" and "Mexican" as "The Mexican..." to describe Mexicans or Mexican Americans, and I don't remember which. He might have said "The Mexican can be a good thing" or something nice and I still didn't care for the way it sounded.

I just didn't like that. But I felt ok, like he wasn't going to do anything stupid. We were at war; I knew that much. He wasn't going to nuke anything. The current guy would probably get off on it! I don't know... Maybe we don't see Bush the same way.

So just pure speculation from politicians

Why did you tack on the 2nd half of that post 1/2 hr later.....after you found out Trump had already tweeted about it

Even if Trump is currently partly correct, he still can't go too hard on this, and hasnt

But here is where Trump comes out on top again, "radical left" can mean anything, and can easily be domestic to Minnesota. Whereas the governor, a Democrat - drug cartels, what the hell would they have to do with it

So yet another case where Trump is a bit too raw, but a Democrat says or does something even dumber

But as usual, you seem to be the one pushing the partisan crap most in this thread, the white self hate

White supremisists are usually 40 something rednecks with a beer gut, there aren't enough of them to have enough influence in riots now on this scale. I see a whole bunch of multi coloured 20 something's running around in these videos

Currently there are protests in almost every major city in the country and at least here on the east coast it will be dark in under 2 hours.

    WOW!

It might be advisable for the DA in Minneapolis to speed up his investigation on the other 3 officers before there's no country left.

If the coroner concludes that they too contributed to Floyd's death, then a charge of third degree murder could be imposed

There was a curfew in place last night in a few cities including Minneapolis, and that didn't seem to stop anyone
