People that inherently hate microwave ovens seem to think radiation is involved... There isn't, it's radio waves. There is nothing wrong with the technology, it's brainless people and the crap food they eat that causes problems. Maybe they should stop eating fake mac-n-cheese for a start. After that maybe they should stop overcooking everything else they cook.
well, it is actually electromagnetic (EM) radiation .. guess im being pedantic but you are correct that the radiation isnt harmful. Visible light is EM radiation as well, what you are referring to is ionizing radiation which is UV light, xrays and gamma rays ... or high energy particles emitted from radioactive materials. microwaves are longer wavelength than light and infrared waves and have less energy. high energy photons can knock give the electrons enough energy to knock them away from the nucleus which can chemically alter molecules, by breaking bonds or creating new ones. microwaved food is actually safer as far as the chemistry of food since the temperatures nvolved are usually lower and doesnt dehydrate carbohydrates and change proteins ... doesnt taste as good though because of the same reason. of course operating a microwave with the door open or removed is probably dangerous in the semse that doing so might cause burms and i would be most concerned with the corneas in the eye.

I dont care WHAT THOSER ARTICLES SAY... Food tastes like crap after its been microwaved!! I avoid a microwave AT ALL COSTS!!
Lol. ^^ Microwaved food is fine it's what it's stored and microwaved in that gives out the taste and nasty chemicles. Take popcorn for example. Microwave popcorn is great for you, but the packing it's confined in isn't good for you, especially when microwaved.
Yeps, the microwave is not the problem. It is how you use it and what food you put in it. Maybe try another kind of mac 'n cheese. I would advice post 80's.
One time in highschool my friends and I put cds in all the microwaves in the cafeteria. Those were cool. Yeah we did dumb shit....
Hehe, I once took the transformer out of an old microwave. You could pull like foot long electric arcs from the leads, knowing that if the electricity touches you ur probably dead lol. 2k volts will easily penetrate clothing, some gloves etc and might just jump out of the wire to you if conditions are right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtTnKUt1S64
micro waves were invented by nazi germans during world war 2, to heat their bodies. They took that microwave with them during world war 2 , when battling on the fiel during winter time, and used it to warm up their frozen bodies. Shortly afterwards many german soldiers - who used that - died. Then they stopped using it for that purpose. Later they came up with the idea to take it with them in order to warm up their provisions. But then again many soldiers died of leukemia. Then the germans banned the use of microwaves. In Russia microwave ovens were banned up until the 70s- because of the well known side effects. Not only does it kill your food and make it undigestible but it also makes you gain lots of weight. And longterm - makes you sick. Apart from the harmful microwave radiation emitting through your house each time when used.
Sorry to interject, but microwaves were not invented. They already existed in nature, and throughout the universe. They were discovered. Can't say the microwave oven is a safe thing to use, but they sell more of them in the US than traditional ovens. They are used for point-to-point communication links, wireless networks, microwave radio relay networks, radar, satellite and spacecraft communication, medical diathermy and cancer treatment, remote sensing, radio astronomy, particle accelerators, spectroscopy, industrial heating, collision avoidance systems, garage door openers and keyless entry systems, and for cooking food in microwave ovens. - Wikipedia You can't really avoid them anymore, unless you live inside a cavern underground or a Faraday Cage.
At the beginning of the World War II, German scientists developed a radar system based on technically-generated microwaves. Sorry im struggling with english sometimes. During the extremely cold wintertime, soldiers gathered around the radar screens to get warm, but they developed blood cancers
After the radar screen invention failed, the germans came up with the microwave oven which soldiers took with them during war. But again, many developed blood cancer. After that, the use of microwave technology was banned throughout the "Deutsches Reich" = Nazi Germany
I try to avoid using microwaves oven since I've read that microwaves use "radiation" to heat food and inevitably think of ionizing radiation (e.g. x-rays and gamma rays).
