I love music, but I'm not too savvy when it comes to distinguishing different musical categories from one another... Does Avenged Sevenfold count as metal? Lol
Avenged Sevenfold is the type of metal guys listen to when they want to feel the wind on their vaginas. Nah kidding. Yeah I think they're in the metal scene.
I bought two CDs yesterday. The new Nile and Motörhead CDs. Haven't had a chance to listen to them just yet but should put on my iPod soon and listen.
I'm big on death metal these days. All time favorite death metal album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FbPPXTvpJI \m/
No because I don't like being followed. I just didn't want to go through the process of quoting just the part that I wanted to respond to. C/S, Rev J
Put this in your pipe and smoke it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EOBqniJavg Just wondering if you dig this as much as i do
holy crap. I listened to the whole thing, and this is the best thing I've heard in a long time. They are NAILING this evil/twisted vibe that they are going for. Thanks for sharing dude! Also, I've been listening to alot of Malignancy these days: http://youtu.be/eJmnttcpK00
I tried to listen to Iron Maiden this evening while in the garage. Actually I successfully even finished an album. Think it was the number of the beast, or something. Didn't listen to it twice, just galvanized the fact I don't like 'em very much.
I am a fan of Pantera and agree with your impression of Anselmo. That whole Cowboys from Hell album he screamed his throat out. A toss between "gates" and "Hollow' are two of the best Pantera songs. Throw in walk only cause back in the day, that was my song for stage diving in Mexico. ahh the days, now i would crumble just climbing the stairs I grew up in the "grunge" for lack of a better term, and Hair metal. I still dig Soundgarden with Cornell singing 'Beyond the Wheel' Dude had a voice and still does. I think 'Grunge' is "Grunge" due to the demograph of listeners, stoners and trippers lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crILNt7-kj8 Beyond the Wheel 2010-still has the voice. Yes I am a Chris Cornell homer Danzig Another Favorite from that era, not disregarding his stint in the Misfits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Gw5pyjBYmQ Mother - Danzig
The Misfits are playing a gig in Sydney in december But I dont think there are any original members left
And Megadeth at the hordern next month But gardammit, Ive just seen them too many times live, and I havent bothered listening to like the last 10 albums, he still seems to put one out every year
I think I really couldn't really get into Danzig for a handful of reasons. One of them is that I think Glen Danzig is a fat fucking douche. Sure he's got big arms but I've noticed when he runs across the stage his gut bounces then he sucks it in when he starts singing again. In interviews he comes across as self agrandizing and arrogant. His lyrics are stupid and cliche. Wow one more singer claiming to be Satan. Then there is the fact that every song he sound like he's trying to sing like somebody else. On the stuff I've heard he has sounded like Elvis, Jim Morrison, Billy Idol, Robert Smith, and Ian Astbury. Not in a good way. And you can't really fall back on "That's just his voice" because when he talks he sounds like Vince Neal. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zfD7agP1yxw C/S, Rev J
The happiest day of my life was the day Rob Halford officially came out of the closet. Granted if he was truly in the closet he left the door open. I mean Jesus Christ the dude dressed like the leather daddy from the Village People. Anyway when I was in high school I was this skinny little artistic kid who was a little high strung and didn't have a girlfriend. Invariably once a week some fat cocksucker in a Judas Priest t shirt would body check me into a locker screaming "Die faggot!" At the time it pissed me off than Halford admitted he was gay and it made the whole thing beautifully ironic. C/S, Rev J
Listening to a new grind core act called Nails. Actually I don't think they're that new anymore. Album - Abanden All Life, pretty good.
