Nothing wrong with it being or sounding like dance music (not sure why you ask that). But that her 'dance music' sounds as much as anything else from the main charts does not seem to be in her favor :p Well, from the perspective from a music fan anyway.

I like most of the content of PR's posts in this thread.

It was in response to what was said about listening to Lady Gaga's music and it turning the listener into a mongoloid.

She definitely isn't going to advocate any kind of violence in her lyrics.

Bad Romance is my favorite from her pop collection.

I think Paparazzi is her most creative dramatic video, though it is a bit disturbing, painting the darkest excesses of pop culture in a very cynical light:

Just Dance is a straight-up electric dance club track of the kind that formed the foundation of her early pop career:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Abk1jAONjw&feature=youtu.be

Before she had her own recording contract, she did synthesizer work on similar songs for other artists in the New York area.

Shifting gears completely, this is one of the sweetest melodies she has written so far:

Edge of Glory was also the final recorded performance for Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band. I don't know why all these videos are showing up just as links.

    That doesn't make you a dinosaur. ;)

I couldn't agree more....I would even go so far as to say there is a level of enjoyment in all of his work ;)

Awards show ratings were dropping because people were tired of hearing nothing but long speeches where performers thanked a bunch of people we had never heard of, so Gaga decided to set her piano on fire at the 2009 American Music Awards. For those who missed it, she did it again in London. Definitely beats a speech.

    Shades of Jerry Lee Lewis.

Re your videos not showing up... it's the format you used in the url that doesn't embed them unfortunately. Instead of using the "youtube.be" use the www.youtube.com/watch?v=. The easiest way to get that url is open your link in a browser, it automatically converts it. Then you can copy it there and paste it in here. I don't know why YouTube gives the youtube.be format as the link on their website when it doesn't embed, since most people use the link to embed videos.

Pffff, Identify with what? Giving birth to her own head in the video?

She seemed to got away with the obvious infringement on Express Yourself

The guy she "co-wrote" the song with, jeppe laursen doesnt appear to have "written" any other hit

    All very suspect

We'll eventually get to her true opinion of LGBTQIXYZ once her career is over and no ones pays attention to her anymore. At the moment she feels she has to cos, most of those stylists, designers, dancers are gay guys, probably a hundred gay guys behind the scenes in most aspects of the production of that video and her live sequences

As I said before, Madge was a skank, but one of the best pop songs of all time, Most that were around late 80s arent going to take Born this way seriously, tell me its not the same song reworked

That doesn't make him uncool either (I'd say seeing kiss in '75 would be the contrary). Other things do that :D jk friend (I know you can take it) ;)

I want one thing to be clear though: I'm not a Kiss fan :p

I tried what you said, and it didn't work for me. :-( Also, I just found out that the video linked in the OP has been taken down, so I need to work on that too.

Oh, I think someone here mentioned you have to take out the "s" in https too, in the the proper url. And after the v=, it should show only the number of the video, not the extra it tacks on (&feature....). Youtube doesn't make it easy!

Music is rather subjective as far as preference and what we all think of as being the best.

I never minded her music but I would not say I was a big fan. My sister got tickets for her show and we went. The lady puts on a terrific show. I do think she is talented. She is creative and has managed to make a lucrative business out of her abilities.

I hope with the more jazz influence in her music she is able to maintain her fan base and pick up new ones. People can be rather fickle with an artist making changes to their style.

There have been a lot of mentions about Madonna in this thread. Like it or not she is an icon and a savvy business woman who has managed to stay relevant after all these years. She at the present time is probably one of the best live show done by a woman going. If you ever have a chance to see her live, it is well worth the price.

Madonna? I saw her live a few years back at a festival, I thought she was horrible. I guess it was cool to be in the presence of a legend of pop music but she is far from the best female (led) act I've seen.

I did say one of. :)

I do agree that there are a lot of very talented people who preform but there are not as many solo acts.

I'd be very surprised if the majority of her original fans buy any of her jazz albums.

I think the ultimate dream of most performers is to make so much money that you can afford to record and perform whatever you want, and not have to worry about the money anymore. She's already there, at age 28.

I'm very curious to see what she's going to do next, now that she's invested so many hours in getting her classical soprano voice back. I assume she's going to want to use it for more than one performance, now that it's available to her again.

Goddamn computers. I need a drink.

Most people would categorize a singer who does not front a band as a solo act.
