human society and only human society, makes anything have to be about money. when people can't see anything else, its because they can't or won't, look beyond the box of shit, familiar human society has surrounded them with. i don't know what kind of world you think you're talking about. mine is full of mountains covered in forests populated by little furry creatures with big sharp teeth, to whom a dollar bill is something to wad up and bat around with their little paws and bite with their little teeth.
It is a matter of perspective if money is your master/servant. It is smart to avoid any kind of debt though, as it will tie you a bit down. But you don't have to let an investment or mortgage 'rule' you by definition. About the daily work to get your food on the table: imagine no money at all. It wouldn't change shit at this point. You'd still have to do stuff to fix dinner. Maybe be busy grow it yourself. So if we look at the bigger picture and do want to label something as our master or that we are tied down to something it still is the need to sustain ourselves that is 'ruling' us. If it is really worthwile, handy or entirely accurate to perceive it like this... is arguable on itself
little sharp teeth, big for their size. ----------------------------- money is the fiate accompli of (several of) the dominant culture(s), which forms a box, many just don't apply the mind to look beyond. to me, it is a wonderful convenience to possess, a damnable nuisance lack, and absolutely useless to be possessed by. probably more people are blinded by it, then by politics or religion. being blinded by it, they tend to see the other two, as if looking through glasses made out of it. the other two do their share of blinding people too. especially in combination of all three. (and if more people knew as much about religions as they think they do, they'd realize how very odd of a combination that is, too)
That's lala land, I live I reality! If so, I'd trap or kill and trade the skins for items I would want/need. It don't have to be a 'dollar', it the fact/principal that you are not going to get a free lunch! You need to trades services to live on, can't do it all you're own. I'm close and can do with little $$, but if I don't want to work anymore I want $$ to fall back and live on for necessities. In reality cash is king!
Cash shouldn't be king. That is the biggest problem for humans and for a planet supporting humans. We're the only animal that has to pay to be here. Natural? I think not.
Everything is 'natural' But I agree, cash doesn't have to and shouldn't be king. When too much people view or make it as such it becomes a seemingly inevitable part of reality which is imo a shame.
Not directly. But looks can make you money, if you want that. I doubt you do. Anyways, money is my servant.
Would you, if given the opportunity? Just wondering! (my guess is you wouldn't, because you seem busy pursuing other means to make your own money. Still... I imagine it can be tempting if one has the looks)
neccessity is master. no one in their right mind chooses to have one. there are a small number of neccesities that come form nature: food, shelter, some place to deficate that won't contaminate food and shelter, and some form or means of pleasure to keep the mind fit and healty. each unique to us individually. but there are a great many more pretend neccessities we manufacture for ourselves and each other needlessly. the invention, creation. use. and reliance upon, of symbolic value, is among the latter and not the former.
