For movies and music: piratebay almost always. For comics piratebay, filestube. If they fail filename + torrent in Google. Tis no excuse, I'm an amateur musician; wannabe writer and in school for programming.
zombie, I want you to get paid for your work, but when I go to youtube to enjoy a video, half the time Sony or some other big company has pulled the video. I would be willing to pay to see it, but when the record company says that I can't see it no matter how much I am willing to pay then I will do whatever it takes to get my videos.
As it stands, movies and music are easy to download via torrents. If the industries involved can't come up with a new format, then they are going to get their profits raped big time. I can't see this happening soon so download away. In the mean time, there are a large number of artists that have made an extortionate amount of monies doing what they do. This (to me) states that a large portion of the general public prefer to buy CDs and DVDs as apposed to dling the material. In effect they are spending $$$ just to have a pretty DVD cover that looks good on their shelves. They could have the content for free, faster than going to the shops to buy the fancy cover at a cost, but their moral obligation to the artist compels them to buy. Like the material isn't being played on the radio every 5 fucking minutes already. FAIL
That torrent stuff spooks me because there could be a trojan or virus hidden in the compressed file. And my kind of indie music is NEVER on the radio. I can only get it online.
Funnily enough I just shut my laptop down there after noticing I was using up what little download limit I had left faster that I should have been. Something was being uploaded from my computer. Have tried to eliminate everything I was using before i shut down, but so far it hasn't started again. Should I be worried? I was saving those MBs for a fucking youtube night on my last night as well! EDIT! found it, was that fucking filestube site!!!!! Staying well away from there from now on....
I listen to techno, the music where it's considered fucking gay to charge money for your music or more than 20$ for your show regardless of how good you are keepin it real nigs
It's not that bad. For mobile BB I have a surprisingly reliable connection as I am in a strong signal area. It's just annoying that I am paying the same as people who get unlimited through their phone line.. I get all my music and films weekly from my local wifi zone.
Well of course, just a bunch of no talent button pushers anyway, I wouldn't pay for that shit either. Mos def, keep it real yo' Word up, I hear gay people hate techno... ZW
Learning to play a real instrument is a lot simpler than making techno. With techno you have a giant range of sounds you can create and you aren't limited at all. It's like a new way of seeing and learning music, and all it's dimensions and possibilities. At raves they just give out cds because it's all about just getting your shit out there and gettin hype. Noones trying to get famous and be rich they're just trying to not wreck their car on the way to the afterparty
You obviously must be new to the scene there are tons of massive raves and shit in the $50-75 range. 'Techno' promoters and many DJs are just as greedy as any other genre. Also ive played in a band and also composed some techno/electronic music. As much as i love electronic music, Playing live instruments is much harder.
There are billions of websites where you can make a loop in flash - if you have good instincts, you could click around your first time and make a song that sounds as good as most techno. No one's going to be able to sit down at a piano and bust out something anywhere near Beethoven, or pick up a guitar and play anything near Hendrix.
I didn't mean it's easier to be good at, I'm just meant it's easier to understand in the beginning and pick up. and fuck the 50$-70$ parties, the only ones worth going to are the outlaws in warehouses and shit lol I must be new to the scene, people on this site love to assume things
And I just said you don't even have to understand techno to make a good song. People everywhere love to assume things, but you do realize that your age is kinda working against you here, right? Techno was around before either of us were born.
