Might be a hateful guy, but I don't see it being a hate crime, even if it will be prosecuted as such - although I don't think texas sees gays as worthy of any kind of protection anyway.

I mean, part of me wants to see his life really fucked up, but the liberal in me says help the poor queer-basher - ruining his life won't make him any nicer, or make society any nicer - do we need more nasty homophobic aryan brotherhood types in our jails, along with all the pot smokers like us? For the sake of pot smokers, let the guy go.

It was highly satisfying to see everyone rush him.

good thing i did it in the driveway instead of when im hauling a heavy load

weird how it just happens with no warning like that....ive towed tons of things ( literally) all summer then i just get in and it pops with light pressure when i go to shift into drive

    Fuck brakes. Absolutely and entirely.

I need to rebuild my rear calipers, last time I did it started gushing after a while on a fresh seal - then I found out that sil-glyde eats some rubber. Then my other side partly seized and cooked it's seal out, swapped it for a seal out of a spare. (the other seal out of my other spare, that is).

So I have 2 20 year old calipers on their second set of 20 year old seals. Can't see any drips but I've lost like an eigth of the safe zone it the reservoir worth of fluid, in the last 6mo.

Also need to take care of my spare/swap calipers, I have a full set torn apart sitting in some borrowed garage space, with crud falling in them, stuff living in them, old fluid attracting water in them... gotta clean them up, and plug them with clean fluid inside, for mothballing/readiness purposes.

Do you have any opinion on rubber and grease? Manual calls for rubber grease, when I was sticking in the nasty old replacement seals I used the expensive pure ceramic high temp stuff, and it seemed to work great for a while and considering how sketchy the whole thing was, but I believe some people use nothing - you think that's okay? I'll probably tackle it again in a few months, I drove with a pissing caliper and bubbly lines for a while, fucking NEVER again, not letting it get like that.

Of course, the rebuild kits have crappy-textured seals that don't really look like they'd compare to the originals.... ehh.

I've heard having un-greased seals makes the piston grab the seal, so the seal springs it back in when you release the pedal, reducing drag - makes some sense, but it seemed so loose, especially with my nasty seals...

when i do calipers i use valve grease on the pistons and seals...never had a problem using it

    dow corning 111

if installing new calipers ill usually even pop the pistons out and coat them then reinstall so theyll last a lot longer

the rings are square...thats supposed to help them release a bit ...they twist under use and pop back square when released

Yeah, about the squareness, that's what I heard about not needing grease - that the seals are meant to bend instead of slide.

But it just doesn't seem like not having the grease could possibly be more conducive to sealing, especially looking at the new seals - they look like crap, they're porous - look like little sponges on the faces that touch the piston, th' fuck is that? I can't bring myself to even try it dry.

Seals are cheap, but brake fluid gets expensive, is a pain to collect (and then sneak in the antifreeze barrel....), and bleeding gets really old. I think this time my seal might have just let a bit go, and grabbed again - maybe pushing out excess grease, or something. If nothing else, it's expensive in the tedium of getting the thing in the air, the horrible messes that brakes make, bleeding, etc.

I want some sort of low profile mini-lift or some other quick but gentle way of getting it up, my car hates my jack - I have to use a scissor jack under a frame rail to be able to get my hydraulic jack under the crossmember - makes getting it back down a load of fun, too.

im uncomfortable in anything above the knee. i can go top of the knee and be ok. shorts i can go mid-thigh, because fuck being uncomfortable when im uncomfortably hot.

and very limited heels. 1 inch is fine. the main thing for me is that it has to be a wide heel, stilettos whisper "look how hot and damn sexy you will look.... with a broken neck. "
