my last shot was probably 11 years ago. i know i should go get one, but we dont have insurance at the moment, and our bank account is nearly $100 under. its looking ok at flesh level, the meat still hurts,, and she definitely bruised at least one bone or tendon on the back of my hand.

ass muscle is penicillin peanut butter shot (IIRC). got mine leaned over a gurney with 5 other people, leaned over the same gurney. Hooyah

im keeping an eye on it. i promise i will go to the hospital if i need to. the thing about tetanus is its not the rust of the rusty nail that does its where the nail got rusty, its where you stepped on it... normally outside. tetanus lives in the dirt. nails get rusty in the dirt, exposed to the elements. what makes punctures more likely to cause tetanus is that it can be difficult to clean the deepest part of the wound, and you have to get it good and clean. i did that hot water- to increase blood flow and flush it out, cold to slow the bleeding, peroxide (even though i know its not supposed to be used on punctures, i was careful to keep it open while using it) cold, hot, cold. then neosporin and a bandaid. then took off the bandaid before bed, let it get some air. used a pin to dig out a few shredded bits of flesh that had been pushed down in there. seems ok now. its laceration as well as puncture, so its a little easier to hold open and clean out than if it had been a nail or a thumbtack.

i would think whoevers dog it was that bit you would send you for a tetanus shot and pay for it for you...
it beats paying for a hospital bill if you were to be hospitalized over the dog bite

im not a litigious person. they said to keep them updated, i know they will pay for it if i ask, but they are also on my side already about chickens and goats and stuff. i really like my neighbors, they are good people, i dont want to rock the pleasant boat. we did discuss fence replacement, we may be able to do a deal if more than one house replaces fences at the same time. gotta do more research.

The thrifit shop here keeps trying to get more boutique - they had 13 bucks on cast iron, now they do 15, no matter what it is, and it's usually crap anyway - but I finially got a deep frying (like deep, and for frying, not for deep frying - though it could be for that too) pan with a smooth machined inside. I have a new lodge with the sand cast texture inside, but have been looking for a nice smooth one for years.

No makers mark or country of origin, just a stacked 8 and 1 on the bottom, though it's bigger than 8 inches. The bottom's a tiny bit dipped, not sure if that's wear, intentional, or it was severely overheated or something - but it's still smooth and feels great under a spatula.

So they charged me 15 bucks for a disgusting pan that required half an hour of chiseling off the old nasty seasoning (not having a wood fire at my disposal) before giving it a bacon fat seasoning - but I still feel like I got a good deal, it's a good one.

I assume how thick the seasoning was means it's pretty old, probably an estate kind of thing that someone saved from a deceased relative, but then didn't want to deal with. Wish I knew it's proper age and origin. But I'm quite happy with it.

When I had to get mine the doctor asked if I had had one in the last 10 years. I said it was probably longer than that so they gave me the shot.
Cute but there is no way I would put clothes on my animals. Not that they would let me in the first place. [IMG]

I just went for my tabasco, and found it to have an inch of yellow-clear separation at the bottom, with a clean line, like between polar/nonpolar liquids.

Never seen THAT before. Maybe it's a special temperature it was sitting at or something. Or maybe I just never put it down long enough to seperate.

Shook it and it mixed right back in, with no sign of wanting to separate again.

I take it you don't like tabasco?

I suppose that CIA man might have forgotten to shake when he poured in LSD and put it back.

Still don't know how to get that water tank up on that pedestal... I got it up onto a milk crate but that's not where it needs to be... It needs to go about a foot and a half more. Damned thing is !$#@&^@#$% heavy.
