i dont think so. there's rational fear and irrational fear. rational has a real cause (fear of getting burned), irrational doesnt (anxiety about public speaking)

the first two are thoughts, concepts that only exist when you think them. the next two are matter that exist whether you think about them or not. Joy goes along with the first two. Your body goes with the second two. but your thoughts go with the first two.

    what about a fishing reel?

    a movie reel?

emotions are real, fear is a real concept. if it was completely nonexistent, then why did it drive human evolution...why do we fear, love etc today ?

inanimate objects are obviously real. can't people get past material things? if i can't see it then it's not real, some argue. if you can think in an abstract manner, anything is real.

fishing reel and movie reel are what i was addressing when i said "the next two are matter that exist whether you think about them or not."
it depends on your definition of "real" - according to your logic, santa claus is real just because you can imagine that he is. According to mine, he is not, because not everything imagined or thought of is real (in my opinion). What is real is what is actual. independent of experience. but again, thats my definition of what 'real' is, i feel the need to draw the line somewhere, maybe you dont and for you everyhting is real. but for me, anything that can exist outside of my head is "real" - so if it can't (emotions, concepts of right + wrong, fairy tales etc) then its not real, and is merely a mental construction
