LOL! We spent a few pages dissecting and analyzing Dawkings talks in the previous thread, why is Sheldrake not fair game? (I realize you are late to the party in regards to this ongoing discussion, that comment was intended as more of a joke)

I don't think the book was retitled in the US, I'm pretty sure I've seen it. I'd likely want to read 'The God Delusion' first if 'The Science Delusion' acts as a rebuttal. I really enjoyed 'The Blind Watchmaker' from Dawkins so I could probably stand to read another book by him and Sheldrake mentioned Terence Mckenna as well as has some interesting ideas, so I'll likely proceed with this idea.

 

Sheldrake and TM were friends. I believe Terrence fed him the mushrooms. The 2 of them along with a mathematician whose name escapes me recorded a series of trialogues which are up there on youtube.

The process that combines all these diversionary tactics because every one is trying to cash in on theirs is begin with fundamental assumption.
We are real
If we are real we have real properties.
We have subjective experience or we are our only measure. you don't have to wonder if you are right, you are real test it out.
This becomes an axiomatic expression,a base upon which to build further reasoning.
That subjective perceptions only limitation to approaching knowledge is the temptation to qualify.

oh what a shock A FEW MONTHS AGO a book came out that created a stir and was discredited as heresy by modern Scientists. Sounds like a post-2012 revolution of Consciousness and Science to me.

At the library, picking up "The God Delusion". I can tell by the chapter titles already and as I suspected watching his videos over the past decade, Dawkings has a much more militant atheist leaning in this one compared to "The Blind Watchmaker."

 

We only know what we are, to know myself is to know you intimately. To know the nature of myself is to know nature. Snow flake ness has no permanent characteristic but shares the permanence of being snow flake.

Sorry I can't relate to the fan club, any particulars other than going to the library and making a selection, the watching and suspecting. It is really out of context for me because I haven't seen any of those things. If you are having a private conversation then sorry for butting in.
