You're the one that has to ask "hows the clipping now?" Why don't you use your own bodys senses to feel it (Hearing). (If you are having trouble hearing it, you may have already damaged your ears.) then use science to get it under control. It's called a level meter, or if you've really got it going on, a VU meter... learn how to use it.
No one will know you cheated using science.
