Damn dude, i don't know why i didn't make the connection. I remember you I think, referring to that name in the second person. I love you still even though you fronted with pete tounsend.
yeah, I been here a loong time.................same as you about edit: actually I joined this band of merry pranksters almost 1 year before you.
Nothing hidden that will not be revealed, another maxim of esoteric pursuit, seek and you shall find The greek also coined a word from the aramaic for which they had no representative, in latin supersubstansalis, super substance. it is in the lords prayer, an esoteric spelling hidden behind the ignorant translation daily bread. Since it is in the lords prayer it would be contraindicated that the term would be daily bread as jesus said do not worry for what you shall eat.
yup and yet again this illustrates what I repeat often here, if folks knew/understood the language and such, I think a lot folks, fundy's and atheist world have a very different take on the whole thing. but lets not go down that path here, unless it is germane to the convo.
That era of music was a lot like that. Found in some of beattles work, very much so john lennon and on with the moody's etc. Now days they find it corny unless they come up with it in the home. Gotta rap it out or it has no teeth. Unless it's a ballad, then i'm the corn eater. I mean on the popular end. In the world music trance genre they are producing holy choirs.
have I been blind, have I been lost inside myself and my own mind hypnotized, mesmerized by what my eyes have seen?
really goes along with what we were discussing earlier about "having eyes to see and ears to hear... you understand
No we have been informed by the rocks, the crystalline dendrites of brute practice and our parents yet there is another teacher in the world and that is that which is not a...parent. Open your mind.
Yes, is anyone speaking to the kids? I speak to mine. They only listen occasionally, but my example in them is unmistakable.
The above scenario speaks of the impulse to be...informed, To know and to taste our purpose. To apprehend that which is not immediately apparent expand or refine the senses through probative focus. Obviously nothing is hidden because it can't be found because there is nothing hidden that is not revealed. Hidden means not currently visible for the sake of obstruction. Where is the obstruction, it is in previous conclusions. Knowledge being material takes up space and novel knowledge can't enter a mind that has convicted itself or is convinced. To undo conviction requires physically rerouting dendritic constructions through mental exercise. Different or new choices begin to unravel habit through practice. There is nothing that limits the subjective perceptions approach to knowledge besides the temptation to qualify as oppose to quantify.
Things appear to be hidden because we are relatively informed. They appear perceptually when we expand our relationships.
yes, I posed it as a rhetorical question because there is nothing "hidden" except as dictated/hidden by our perceptions and subsequent qualify, quantifying, and categorizing of those perceptions. in short, we too often stand in our own way when trying to clearly view the horizon.
Reasonably clear remarks by chinacatsunflower As far as the dice is concerned...Magick is concerned with willing anything to happen that it is physically able to do. We're not trying to remove the laws of science. It's all one thing. So you used the dye example...I believe Crowley used a very similar example before. You want to know if you can move the dye with your eyes or whatever. I'm open to an infinite amount of evolution and possibilities in the Universe, so I would say that first the humans would have to evolve to a point where their brains were strong enough to move objects with the eyes. Doesn't really have as much to do with Magick per se as it has to do with Siddhis, aka psychic powers. But a simple example would be a chair. You pick it up and move it. It never would have moved ever unless something in the Universe willed it to move. If you send an object out into empty space, it will keep going in the exact same direction at the exact same speed for all of time until it either collides with another object, gets sucked into a black hole, disintegrates into an atmosphere, etc. It took the will of something to send the object to space and that object doesn't have its own autonomy to swim all around the Cosmos so it remains on the exact path of its original intent from the person who sent it out to space. A chair will never leave its current location until something or someone wills it to be so. So the difference between pouring a glass of water with or without Magick is more about man's recognition or not that it IS Magick. Like I've said before, everything can be a Magickal act, and one's consciousness and awareness of anything is always going to play a role, so it's up to the person to recognize or charge that simple action as a Magickal action. You can take the daily ritual of doing the dishes and charge it into a Magickal ritual. You can internally align it with your True Will and create a ceremony out of it if you wanted to. You can turn anything into a ceremony. Even this thread. ANYTHING. This is where the distinction comes in between a Ceremonial Magician and a Chaos Magician, but essentially a Magician is using certain tools for certain aims. The most important thing is the aim and the intent. The tools that are used are up for debate between the Ceremonial and Chaos Magician. Usually, it's the ceremonial magician that's going to be super strict and stingy about what tools are being used for the operation. But different Scientists have disagreements about shit too. Magick is all about man's place in the universe. Hermeticism explores the principles of vibration, correspondence, rhythm, polarity, cause and effect, mentalism, and gender to harness the forces of nature for his own purpose. The higher and contributing to the world his purpose, the better. Mental transmutation is a simple form of internal alchemy where one transmutes thought forms and feelings, which are all only vibrations, into others. This is a simple and subtle way to change your state of being, which will thus effect what action you take. The principle of vibration alone is probably what got me into Hermeticism after my different psychedelic voyages of the past. You can look at the world through an infinite lens of vibrations, and if you're sensitive, you can see that everything is vibration, and when yours changes, so do others around you. Even objects like the sounds of a guitar change in accordance to the state of being of the player who's playing the guitar. Ceremonies and rituals are the Magicians' way to focus their will and intent, hopefully after transmuting any negative thought forms and feelings, they then direct their internal energy into the ceremony. The veil is removed between the internal world and the external world for the Hermetic, so the principle is that the universe will accord to your ceremony. But just like anything, it takes practice and repetition and skill. But like I said at another point, the ceremony is the equivalent to the experiment of the scientist. Whatever the ceremony is centered around, meaning whatever you're trying to get out of the ceremony, perhaps you could call it the spell, would be equivalent to the hypotheses of the Scientist. The Magickal notebook would be the evaluations and corrections of the scientist following their experiment. They are very similar things looked at through different lenses as this Universe grants us an infinite variety to look at and approach the Universe, which is why I don't see Science as the be-all, end-all, especially when it derived and owes much of its success to the Alchemy and Hermetics that came before and lead to it. The prime difference, however, between the Magickal, Scientific, and Religious views are that Science and Religion both have stifled Magick historically because Magick is the one that sees no separation between himself and God. Magick sees man as a sort of demi-god who is able to harness the forces of nature and live this life in a grand way. Why aren't there more Magicians who are ruling the earth then, asks Writer? Because they were a threat, and were killed by the Church who turned it into an evil idea, and then turned into a fantasy idea by Science. This stifled the legitimacy of Magick. Alchemy was also a threat to the Government, because if anyone knew how to turn lead into gold on a physical standpoint, that would ruin the entire economic system. Then it all went underground. And personally I'm not opposed to the idea of the Illuminati, or wouldn't be surprised that the world's most elite know the knowledge of Magick but use it for rather shitty and selfish purposes. Even when a sociopath is trying to get into a woman's pants, and seduces her or vice versa, this is its own form of sorcery while not even being recognized as such by the guy whose sole goal is sexual triumph. Magick is all around but it's just not recognized as such anymore because history did a great job at turning it all into a hocus-pocus type of thing. Magick deals with the internal psychic unconscious/subconscious world and applies it to the outer world. Edited by ChinaCatSunflower02, Today, 07:25 AM.
