No, there are no mainstream academics that I'm aware of that would risk their reputations and make accusations of possession against a competing camp.

I would suggest to you that you look at pharmaceuticals. There have been many accredited professionals who have done exactly that.

The issue with this whole topic is those who believe in the possibility of esoteric do not also believe in science. The premise that the two are separate or that one can not believe in both is erroneous.

 

I think esoteric just means little taught, not necessarily hidden.

I think there could have been ancient knowledge that didn't make the transition from pre-literate times, except possibly though some rare lineage.

The thread is based off a thread suggesting objectively, the practice of esoteric mediums such as magick deserve equal standing with the world of science.

So likely, some still have carry over from that thread, in regards to reconciling the esoteric with science.
