some saw an airplane flying overhead and did not know about airplanes, so of course, the conclusion was that it was god or god sent.....in some instances.... Desmond Morris explains religion simply....when animals are threatened by something, there is fear, fight or flight......As a human species....we are aware of our own mortality and death constantly....which animals do not think about....their danger is immediate, but to us, danger with death is forever present....so religion is a way to fight that. This is is the simplest summary to what Desmond Morris writes about in one of his books.
Deeply now, simple manners are complex associations of guilt. What do you tear over? It is not my past dear but your current mental associations. I do not suggest brokenness in this observation but I do suggest we cannot escape the effects of our own thinking and it is how we define experience that lends it's experiential sensations. The only time I have ever experienced a sense of loss in connection with my wife have been in those moments when I actively denied her living existence. The only claim I can legitimately make about the experience of her death is that the body that remained was not nor had it ever been substantially what she is. I simply could not recognize that inert piece of meat as the person I know however I do have the sensation of her living presence in me and reflected in those persons whom we had in common.
Government and religion are both innate. We only express them, externalize them .. build and construct them. They're not the design of human beings. Government is left hemisphere, religion is right hemisphere. The Heart empowers, since motivation and drive comes from the Heart. It's similar to radio, TV, phones, the internet. These are all manifestations of mental functions. Radio is our ability to transmit and receive, TV is our inner vision, phones are our ability to connect and communicate (telepathy), the internet is our ability to organize and compute. The last thing to manifest as a physical object is pure consciousness but that object already exists: human beings. However, there are technologies that exist .. holographic in nature, where NO physical material exists but the hologram is interactive. Human beings are the medium, the channel, the conduit and conductors. Co-creators, creation happening through us. We are instruments and tools. The WORLD is man-made. But Earth, galaxies and the Universe are not.
lol No, I have no guilt over the loss of your wife. I don't share in the Joy you feel over that loss, but there's definitely no guilt. lol
everyone has the right to believe what they want or not want to..... am not forcing my theories on anyone and wish those would back off trying to force theirs on me. I answered a question....period....
Interesting, but how about the Gods of praise? Much like the idea of Machiavelli, Gods too were empowered through both fear and love. Many civilizations based God in love over fear. Granted it may have been part of the social structure of the civilization, but when I think of Native Americans and Egyptians off the top of my head. I don't think of fear
I have a theory about learning. To learn something means one was stupid, prior to learning. In order to avoid being stupid, people refuse to learn.
It is up to anyone what they wish to learn or not....in other words, worry about your own self and what you want to learn....period.
I know...but I did want to make it clear that I am very spiritual... That is important to me....I believe that force to be in all of life, as well.....
Unaware is a better term than stupid in describing the phenomena over all. My goodness. To the dark adjusted eye, light hurts so people instinctively retreat thinking they prefer the darkness. I have a theory about learning. The universe is made of information, teaching and learning are the same.
Making a claim without the verifiable evidence to back it up does not make your god real. It is a simple of matter of understanding human evolution. Mankind, looking at the world around him, wondered from whence he came. His primitive mind concocted the idea of a higher being, because he was filling in the gaps of knowledge. Our evolved thinking and our study of the natural world has informed us that a hypothesis based on zero evidence to support it is an illogical and dangerous way of perceiving reality. Considering that we is all there is, the answer would logically be no. We can easily love one another without a silly mythology to guide us. Not all atheists, but some of us are attempting to counter the daily religious boasting that is ruining society. Imagine, if there was no religion, there would be no need for atheism.
Perhaps because that is only one opinion from one person? Maybe it doesn't have to be about convincing the other people in this thread
