Don't overlook the financial incentives for the businesses. That car lot looks like an insurance fraud job. Yes, "The System" creates these kinds of crimes of greed, it's the riot that provides a perfect, plausible backdrop. We'll likely never know how many of these places were looted or torched with the aid or blessings of the "owners".

For me the issue of wanton destruction and violence, supposedly to "honor" Mr. Brown, is sheer madness. I don't see much reason to debate the "causes" of such outrageous mass behavior which was clearly planned long in advance. People know right from wrong. Everyone who stole, assaulted or destroyed during the protests was wrong.

 

There was no real protests, just criminals on the streets.

I know a couple of people from CNN last night were actually hit with some tear gas, was entertaining.

it is actually too bad people decide to loot and riot after events like this because it takes away from the protestors who have valid points.

so instead of realizing that there are communities in america that have never quite recovered from slavery and Jim Crow laws, people just end up assuming the black community deserves what they get because they're just a bunch of thieving animals.

I would also like to remind some of you historically it isn't just black people who participate in violent unrest. In any society violence such as displayed by the riots in Ferguson is usually a big red flag that there is a disconnect between the oppressed and the oppressors.

Here's a statement from the chief of police in Ferguson.

Gov. Jay Nixon issued a statement saying he was calling in more National Guard troops to assist law enforcement in Ferguson, but he didn't say how many additional troops or how long they would remain.

Jon Belmar, chief of the St. Louis County police, said that unless his agency could bring in 10,000 officers, "I don't think we can prevent folks who really are intent on destroying a community."
