I'm sorry to hear this. My sympathy to Kenny and all others touched by this.

 

Yes, alas.

She had Burkitt's Lymphoma a form of Non-Hodgkiss Lymphoma. Felt like she might be coming down with a flu. Saw doctor twice. Blood tests showed super high white blood cell count. Second test even higher. Within five days of the start we were told to go directly to the emergency room, 10:00 p.m. A new blood test and they were keeping her overnight and sending her home in the morning. I went home.

3:30 a.m., I get a call from her and she is in I.C.U.
Regular room the next day. Her dad and her sister fly in. That night they transport her to another bigger hospital which specializes with cancer. More tests. Burkitt's Lymphoma. Very curable. High success rate.

Two days later she has some kind of heart seizure. They put her in their I.C.U. Better. They put her under and keep her under. 10:00 p.m. they start her on a drip of double does chemo. Three day later her white blood cell count is way way down. They are keeping her under the whole time.

She's on dialysis the whole time and under, with a breathing tube.

About a week later they find that she has some sort of intestinal blockage. They do a surgery. Later they find out that that didn't do the trick. They do a second surgery. Later on, the morning after Thanksgiving, Friday Nov, 25 around 5:00 a.m. while still under, her body has a heart failure. They shock her. She's alive. This happens a few more times the same way, until the last time when the shocking fails to work. She's gone.

They had kept her under the whole time. She just never woke up.

She was always an angel here. Now she's there.


I'm doing OK. I love and miss her but I'm OK.

As I have always said, I pray for the living. They're the ones with the heartbreak and the tears. The dead are beyond caring. They are doing alright. They are with others who love them.

Just checking in.
I left AZ at 1:00 am, the morning of the 30th., in a van with a 12 foot U-haul trailer and drove all night to sunrise just east of Indio, Calif. Am visiting family in the HIGH desert. They now have legal RECREATIONAL M. here. To bad that I quit it back in 1973. LOL. Oh well.

Mary, I'm thinking of starting that Living History Museum and Festival that we use to talk about. Stay tuned.

Mary do you still have a computer or not?

I'm with family and in a different state and in a different place. It's good and moving on. Looking for a studio or one bedroom and new adventures. It's all new to be me alone. All different.

The future is fun.

Been talkin' with Rita 'bout moving in with me. Two bedroom one bath w/ garage. Four plex.
She says after the third when she gets her next money.

Yeah, Things are moving along.
Realtor and owner moving now. Could have a place to live by Sat. Go and transport Rita after her S.S. check goes to bank after the 3rd. Cats too.
She's pretty thrilled. New place. New life.

Yes, I have!

Today I began to work on the rice pillow heating pad thingies that I want to put with everyone's store bought present.

I buy most of my gifts online and have them delivered to my doorstep. I can't do the shop 'til you drop thing.

How is the new life shaping up?

 

Finally got the place Dec 27, 2016. Everything is out of storage and moved in. Lots of unpacking to do. Place is great.
The gas stove is still disconnected their guy says he's having a hard time finding the right dynamiter pipe fitting. Maybe Monday. Hope hope.
No gas on. So no heat and no hot water and no stove. Got a little electric heater. A life saver.
My nephew and his wife dropped by today. They dig the place. I'm happy.

Soc Security gives you more money if you live in Calif. then AZ or other states. I just got a $265 difference check. Too cool.

Truck broke down and I paid a mechanic close to 400 so I no longer have the kind of cash that it would take to go and drive Rita over here. Not sure that I trust the van to go the 700 mile round trip. 355 each way.
It's going to be up to her to get a ride share or something happening. Craigslist.org or something. IDK

She's seen smartphone pictures of the place and she loves it. She'll fine a way. After all we're hippies. We invent ways.

 

I'm so glad things are looking up!

Saturday, Jan 14th 2017 is the 50th anniversary of the First Human Be-In that was on January 14th 1967 at the Polo Field in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The Prelude to "The Summer of Love".
I don't care about any of that, I just want you to take the moment on this Saturday to get to a park and E-mail your friends to E-mail there friends and do a Crowd mass on your one place and to create a big party crescendo for everyone.

So, up-date. Rita and her cats should be here by 12 or 1 in the afternoon today Jan 10th. I buy a new cat box. Ta Da!
I'm still a mess and still unpacking. Wish us all the luck. I got stupid dumb faith. As Jerry sings, "I will survive". And my sister blows in on the 19th for three or four days. Living room floor. A good cozy bunch. Bolstered together against the icy winds. Eating beans, and with a lot of joint body heat (no just kidding), we will survive.
