Church of the Good Earth 1963 and Beyond

Hi Hippies,
I've been in the hot ass kitchen all day canning. I've put up 25 quarts of Pickles (killer dillers), 3 quarts of pickled peppers and 2 quarts of pickle relish. My tomatoes haven't come in yet bc we planted late bc of the garden being underwater all spring. Hard to till the ground when it's under 3 inches of water .

I'll be glad when they do make bc I am out of Salsa and I put salsa on everything, except ice cream

It's already in the triple digits here in East Texas. I'm sure there is a lot of places feeling the heat this month, next month it will be HELL and I will not be canning.. (I hope) August is what we call Hell around here bc it is unfit for man or beast during that time. It's like trying to breath underwater the humidity is so damn thick, as soon as you walk out the door, you're doing the backstroke to get your ass back inside where the AC is on 60.

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and get to go out and get wet, if there is any wetness where you live.

It would be a blessing if we would get some rain, it's been several weeks now and the ground is thirsty. it's so blasted hot everything is starting to burn up before it's time is over. My tomatoes look awful and the green bean plants are turning brown The bell pepper are even starting to blister along with the cucumbers.

I just did 9 quarts of pickles and okra and I'm still sweatin'. I don't believe we need any more pickles for now, I think I have 45 quarts already made this week and still giving away last years.

It's too hot here Chris to raise very many kinds of herbs and the insects devour them so rapidly.. sage and a few others is about it.

I lean more towards veggies too, I eat meat, but not near as much as I use too. I try to keep the carnivorous side of me tamed

 

I will be glad when this political fiasco is over. So much hate and division. I am wound up 24/7 even in my dreams. All the lies, all yhe deaths nd he death toll keeps getting higher. It doesn't matter what is best for our country. All that matters as that so and so wins at all cost.

So what kind of price are we to put on human life?

 

I was blessed to get wet in the Gulf Of Mexico at Ft. Walton Beach, FL for 7 days! I appreciated every minute of it!

Leaving one to feelings of lustful delight and playful advances into the steamy night visions of melding Spirits and Soulful longings of physical loving embraces as the blood leaves your brain and rushes to build pulsating energies and hyways of illusion and delight exploding into a kaleidoscope of sensation into the mystical realm of perception.

I talked to Mike Bedell the other day, he's chillin' and is his happy self. Rita also called me a week or so ago, she has a new number, hit me up if ya want it. She is holding it together as well as she can.

 

Got a message on the message machine from Rita from Sat. Her voice was way off. Didn't get the whole message. Fell. Hospital. Back home. Fell again. Couldn't reach the cell phone. Lay on the floor for hours. Finally did reach the cell phone. County rescue. Back in the Hospital again for three days this time.

I'll call her and get the rest of the story tomorrow. I hope it's not another stroke.

For those friends and readers who have never heard of Rita she was with Ranger. Like, Rita and Ranger.

Hey to all,

I just now talked to Rita on the phone. She's good. She fell and hurt herself. Between her bad back, hips, and knee, she couldn't get up to the cell phone for more that three hours to call for help. She had just laid there.

She's good now and gong back home after three days in the hospital. Also she's gonna move in the future to a gov place for older folks. It sounds pretty cool.

 

Yeah, Rita doesn't need to be out there by herself.

Are you guys OK, with that hurricane? Hope you're OK.

Yes Rita sent in the papers to see if she would be accepted for the low rent program. She does have some great neighbor sisters where she is right now. The place that she's applied to is a low rent H.U.D. program. Says it's like a rebuilt motel. A bunch of little studios. But it would be warmer in the winter than living in a little metal trainer. Just has to wait for the application to be excepted or not.
