Right now Im getting ready to go to terry reilly clinic for some help dealing with soc sec. I was told yesterday that I should be receiving ssi in addition to my retirement.

 

Go get it Sag, the gov will just spend it on a $300. hammer........

 

I was also told I should have been getting it since I retired 19 months ago. Times $310 means things will be a whole lot easier.

Should I get what they owe quickly, I will be there quickly. However, we both know our government far too well to be overly optimistic

Yeah I applied for SSDI after they took out my left eye. They wouldn't even tell me if that would qualify. 5 months later I got the judgment, by mail. "NO"

I filled out all of the appeals forms and another 4 months later they sent me a final "NO".

That's how it works.

 

I not sure if it's still the standard, but a few years back you were required to take your appeal to a federal judge level three times.

 

Nah, federal judges are far too busy now-a-days.

They have boards of 5 doctors for your review. If you choose to appeal there is a higher panel of 3 higher doctors for appeals.

That is what I was told by Social Security people.

They always deny you the first 3 times then you see the Administrative Judge for a fair hearing. If you have enough medical evidence to support your claim and current records of your disabilities you have a good chance of getting a favorable judgement
