Steven is writing up our Mission Statement, when that and the by-laws are complete we are ready to file for our non-profit status. When we get that we are open for business..

I'm getting chills just thinking about it. We are so close y'all.

Well, I wrote one for us to take a look at.
After that I got a call from Steve. We had a great talk. He read me his statement. It was not a very broad statement. Super limited to what he is into. Like, only doing rehab and stuff.

    The problem is:
If you incorporate and tell the Government that you are only doing rehab and helping the homeless and soup kitchens. Then that is all that the government expects to see you doing as you whole activity. Only what you listed and gave to them in writing as your reason for being.

People are seeming to miss this point. You are only allowed to do what you stated.

Churches state that they are churches first and only. Then they can run kitchens as well. Then they can anything at all.

It doesn't work the other way around. I hope that you get my drift.

Here's what I wrote for a "CHURCH" organization"

    Articles of Incorporation
    Church of the Good Earth

    Charter Mission Statement

The whole Earth is a church, and we are all a part of the Good Earth.

    Everyone is a member.

All churches are about fellowship and community, a sense of belonging for each individual, a sense of unity, and in this light and for this propose we do establish this, the Church of the Good Earth.

Every person on the Good Earth believes in what they each believe in. Belief is an individual thing. We, therefore, establish to include non-denominational, multi-denominational, singularly denominational, and include mystic, shamanistic, Gnostic, agnostic, atheists, and existentialist, and all other people's feelings and beliefs and disbeliefs, and philosophies and theosophies.

We believe to allow any and all methods of seeking and communing with said god or goddess, each in one’s own view, and believe in any and all sacraments in all forms for these religious or philosophical purposes.

It is hoped that in this unity we may glow to have to ability to help each other, and to help others, and to help the poor, the homeless, the hungry, the addicted, and any who may be in need of help or direction.

    _____________________

this last paragraph could include all of Steve's project work.

Here's a start on changing that bylaw thing that I asked you all to look at.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bylaws of the Church of the Good Earth

ARTICLE I: NAME, DESCRIPTION, & PURPOSE

    Section 1: NAME

    Section 3: PURPOSE
The purpose of the organization is to enhance and support the individual’s experience as a part of the Good Earth, to develop a closer connection between people, as a fellowship or community, to help to grow in one’s beliefs, to share, and to know more love, all though greater personal involvement, and to improve the Earth by spreading a positive message and by aiding other people through volunteerism and financial support.

    ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP

    Section 1: GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
Membership shall be automatically granted to all persons of all ages who live upon the Earth. There are no membership dues at this time. General Members have no voting privileges.

    Section 1: OPERATIONAL MEMBERSHIP
This Membership shall involve members who have chosen to become involved in the actual and or the official operations of the church as a legal entity. There are no membership dues at this time. Operational Members have voting privileges.

    ( I didn’t do the rest of it. )

    ARTICLE III: OFFICERS

President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Communications Secretary, and Treasurer. Officer
    positions can be shared.

I really don't like the name Church of the Good Earth Unity. Where did that come from?

Ya, I remember back in the day when we all lived in Church of the Good Earth Unity. Church of the Good Earth Unity was pretty famous. It has a lot of history.

Just doesn't seem to have the same ring to it.

We're starting to work as a team now and things are going a lot faster.

To establish a Church in every state it has to be filed in the state you're starting each church in. So, yes, but only if ya want to. We can have as many churches as we like 100 in each state if we want.
