    i dont not mean any disrespect in this what so ever, but maby the reason so few have responded is because a) they dont own a pc, or b) they are not up on technology?? again i mean no direspect.

    Ha, When I asked a brother why not many were responding, he said.. Hey, we're LAZY. I can agree to an extent, that yes, we are indeed lazy..peoples lives are full..demands are heavy on a lot of us, preventing us from venturing out in cyber space. Some have no PC, some have no eletricity, some fancy themselves above conversing with lower intelegent life forms and I have seen this a lot.. ones thinking themselves elete in their coolness, way too cool to open up their hearts and minds and step from their stangat pools of selfrightousness, there are also some who can't read, or type, and there are that few who think technology is evil and will trap your soul. I have even run across a couple that didn't want to be found. I know a sister that denies even being hip at all, never addmitted it, even to the ones that partied with her, blocking it out so hard she has no memory of those yrs at all. How terrible life must have been for her back then.

    I guess it's what you walk away with, when the dealings done and the cards are on the table. What truths you have discovered, what gifts you have brought to the table, your personal growth and the growth of others around you. As people grow, they change. Some grow out of childish fantacy and evolve into factual robots, slaves to the machine. Others intagrate their realities to intertwine, fantacy holds a form of truth, as it is born from fact and then re-arranged. We all have our realities and fantacy, there are also times when one man/womans reality is another man/womans fantacy and vise verse. Some are fried and are weaving baskets in the sanatarium.

    We all have our purpose, the road to get to our destination is sometimes dark and rocky, full of pitfalls and waste, but we manage to arrive where we need to be in time. We learn as we go and grow as we learn. Sometimes we think we know, but it keeps changing, so nothing it final untill the end, the final outcome.

    Brightest Blessings and may your final outcome be one of peace and joy

    sh

    Cakes;

    You touched all the bases. Personally, while I do remember the bad times I don't dwell on them: I survived them- I learned from them. I do remember the good times and we had a bunch of those. I keep in mind (and thank G-D) I survived to continue to enjoy life with all of its ups and downs. For me my past is me and its good to reconnect with those who helped (whether they wanted to or not or even realized it) to make me ME.

    Luvi;

    You must have joined up after I left to go back east in "74. PC's are dirt cheap now. I'm writing this on an old IBM 600X Thinkpad laptop that cost me including shipping, $200.00 (About the same as an Ipod) on Ebay. AOL is free and you need maybe $10-20 a month to get online. Hopefully more of our brothers and sisters will climb aboard to remember and reminisce. Maybe we can even have a family meeting for all of us survivors. Take care y'all and stay well.

    love
    Zev aka Zih-ave.

    Great explanation of how it is for many in our generation, SH!

    I've known individuals who fall under each of those descriptions.

    That sorta explains why the "Movement" devolved into scattered attempts at maintaining sanity or escaping from it.

    We can never get all those who desperately want to change the "system" online and active again. But we can try to reach those who still want to get their message across, who feel an emptyness inside because of unrealized dreams, unfulfilled promises, or that nagging realization that WE DIDN'T DO ENOUGH, that the Revolution isn't over, in fact it's just getting going!

    One generation was not enough to spark the change. Now we have at least two if not three generations behind us. So we're not alone anymore, but there is a lot of knowledge and wisdom to be shared with these younger generations, and THAT should be a priority for us now.

    I suppose it's never over untill you reach the other side, where we are told, the truth lay. The old ways never die, there will be a generation that comes forth and the band will strike up a familiar beat and the circile contenues evloving ever forward into a new conscious beginning. Each time perfecting the human condition higher or more in tune with the universal flow, a harmonic balance between the earth and mankind.

    What we leave behind as a legacy is yet to be, we are not done yet, some of us still hold the becon/firestick.. we will always be what we are inside ourselves, most of us that are left have made peace with our pasts. The path well trodden now, will make for a more peaceful journey into changing how we see the outside in this physical relm.

    We can only hope that someone is listening, learning from what is said in these hallways of knowledge and truth. I see the eyes, the young eager eyes begging for truth and seeking wisdom. The Children of The Light, they come to find their place in The Circle.

    Blessed Be

    Hey Family,
    I had a visitor sunday night.. Shills!!! He was driving a load to Grand Prarie, only a couple of hours from me, so he called and said he would be in town.. He drove his truck into Sulphur Springs and parked it at the Pilot Station and I came and picked him up. We went to my house and we had supper and reminised till late in the night. He looked great, a little heaveier and greyer, but aint we all.. He's living in Tennesee and is happily married to his wife of 10 yrs.

    It was soooo good to see him, I just wanted to hug the stuffing out of him... he couldn't stay long the next morning, he had to get his load in before noon, so we had a short visit.. he did say if he got another load up this away he'd be back.. I know he will, we had a warm reunion.

    We were both filled with nostalgia from the old days in the Haight and in Oregon and Airzona.. Me, my boy Jomie, Shills, and Diane lived together all over the place for several yrs. Mostly at Good Earth. We lead a very unusual life together, like the 3 muscateers, with Jomie as our kid. We created a bond that time nor circumstance could ever dismantle. The love that binds us through eternity.

    Ohhh The Stories that filled the night, one rip roaring event after another, I wondered how we survived, we thought we were invincible and apearently it was true, bc all four of us survived... I suggested he write a book, but some of the most intimate details would have to be omitted to protect the guilty ;) I was glad to know he is having a good life and is happy. That's all we can hope for is a little happiness as we grow into ourselves.

    Bright Blessings Brothers n Sisters, may we all live in our happy place.

    Hopefully my memory is correct. Just in case it isn't I'll keep this vague.
    Did Shills ever tell you about the bee stings he and Diane I believe got in Oregon?

    How cool is it to find this site!! I've been reconnecting with many things in my past lately. I passed thru and stayed with the family the summer of '72. Where have all the years gone?? I had some friends there from Brooklyn who later followed a young guru (Maharaji) to India. Anybody remember them? Anyone remember Steve Soffer, Steve and Rhondi Hoffner, Sag Johnny??

    Hi Shameless,
    Actually Sag Johnny was the one who was not from Brooklyn. I think you remember who he was--He was African-American but I don't remember much more about him except that we did connect briefly when I was there. Where are you these days?? I'm alive and well in South Florida. lol

    Hi All,

    I just came upon this thread when googling my current house on Cole Street. I live in a community between 400-410 Cole Street at the corner of Oak. It sounds like you all may be talking about our house as the home of the Church of the Good Earth. I think that we might be the "underhouse" that you mention. Can any of you provide any specific info on our place and it's history back in the 70s?

    I've always thought that our house had some crazy energy vorteces and I'm sure that I've felt some spirits hanging around. If we are, indeed, living in the old underhouse it seems that the traditions of community kindness are still intact.

    Any info you can provide is appreciated! Also, are there any former members of the underhouse still living in the Bay Area?

    Peace,

    Stephanie

    By the way, we also know that our home was once the home of the Unification Church (aka "the Moonies") during the early 60s. It's also rumored to have housed the White Panther party in conjunction with the "Cole Street House" accross the street during the late 70s.

    Thanks for any additional info you have!!!
