Actually... They were already dead. There's probably 6-8 cord of standing deadwood here, plus all it's kindling. If I can get to it.

Hahaha. Yea don't kill it. They probably smell.
First place I lived in that had them...back when I didn't know what they were I would kill them and yea, they smelled but kept killing them...and wondered for a while why there kept being More and More and More and MORE.... of them. Duh, finally found out they can smell that months later and think all their friends live there.. kinda like "go into that house!!!"--- Now I just flush them. Better yet I took out the window AC's by Mid Aug--- none were in it... last year when waited til mid Sept there were tons of them in them.

Anyways what I'm wondering is.... do you think "they" (who ever they are, someone, anyone) is doing anything about them yet... meaning trying to get rid of them?

Anyways I haven't seen the green ones. My mom saw a new, strange looking bee like thing in her car though the other week.

    Btw, Larry....hahaha. :D

"They" imported them, why would they want to get rid of them.

I think the green ones are native....

Well, you make it seem like they purposely imported them and article you posted said accidentally imported them.

Dunno why "they'd" want to get rid of them.... saw article in Time couple weeks to a month ago though about invasive species throughout the U.S. and stinkbugs were talked about, amongst other animals... for the stinkbugs article was saying they are costing a lot of money in crop damage. So I've been hoping that if no one was motivated to look for a predator for them (since they have no natural ones) and try to get rid of them because they are super annoying ...that hopefully they would be looking to do so by now because of the crop damage??

nothing likes to eat them. they dont digest well in certain carnivores, making animals sick, birds have only recently taken a liking to them. but the harsh cold is the best to kill them.. but I know it was 20below outside last year and here are the stinkbugs walking around in my bathroom.

I trap them in coffee containers with a few drops of insecticide in there.

I've always wondered... when they hide around houses all winter long, what do they EAT? Can they just eat in the summer? Cause they don't eat food like ants do.

I've got this thing for "imported" bugs, mostly because of the Ash Borer but there are many many more... Some times it's intentional, sometimes not. But it usually comes down to cash in somebody's pocket is more important than proper management of shipping products or raw materials. I take that as "intentional". Same with imported plants that become invasive. Trying to bring "natural predators" over here to deal with it is not helping the situation, it just makes it worse...

Anyways... Erin's excitement for the afternoon. Baby snake in the greatroom...

Gloves and a small box. Thing is probably much happier outside. Between screaming bird (Erin hates snakes) and weirded out cat, outside must be bliss.
