Made it to the Middle East. Got a gorgeous apartment (although expensive as hell), car shopping, playing hockey a few times a week, wife is loving the pool. Things are good.

Hey fine friends!

I'm off work today...will not lie.
They work the shit outta me, and I'm not going anywhere or putting on anything over my gown but the sweat pants I'll slide on over my lower side to walk in the yard. lol I've eaten 2 firecrackers, took a valium and have had a shot of amaretto.

It took 15 minutes, if not a bit longer to get this posted. The endless twirling circle. Isn't it just damn GREAT I have patience?! :cuss: lol

apparently the soup kitchen here tried to buy a new space downtown, but the owners accepted an offer 40k lower because they didn't want "those people" around.

 

On another note: I've been reading a (awful sorta) book by Michael Crichton and Richard Preston called "Micro".

What do y'all think of this book, those that have read it?

This nano technology has the potential to be devastating, I think...just like the food and pesticide "cooperation" is what I'm thinking of. :yikes: (Monsanto or as I call is Santano is one main example)

I'm glad I live in a backwoods "rural" (the country) area. You'd have to go to a lot of trouble to get to me.

That type of thinking is sooo typical, and just infuriates me. There are probably a million reasons, in their eyes, this shouldn't be allowed...the ability for a hungry person to get food.

How a person in their heart can deny this to another human being is what is beyond me.

soup kitchen people aren't too bright, are they.............should have used a realtor that didn't know who the buyer is and just said its an investment property

isn't there tons of places downtown like every other downtown in Ontario?

 

lots of places. but not lots of places that are the right size and setup for food service. and the downtown here is fairly small, just a few city blocks.

Just to play the "devil's advocate" here for a minute...if the soup kitchen people used a realtor, wouldn't they have had to give the realtor a cut, a percentage or whatever?

Perhaps that is what they were thinking about.

I don't know...I guess I wanted to dream that Canada would be more forward thinking about this...feeding the hungry...than the US.
