Monarchs...I saw them migrating once when I was a kid. I remember it as being pretty spectacular.

 

They are dwindling fast too... Wonder if future kids will only see photos and not the real thing.

That's a nice thought, but the reality is the Monarchs will fade away... Mismanagement of herbicides is gonna do it, killing off the milkweed plant is going to kill off the Monarch butterfly.

 

I have a few milk weeds....next year I may plant ome too...they also like the apple trees

 

im planning on planting some, i dont know if the monarchs come here, but i can propagate and give away seeds

 

migration is a weird concept ,...i only see them living here .....or theyre gone ...i never see things that are just passing thru lol


saw a bunch of sandhill cranes last week,,they nest on an island near a family members house ....always come in low for landings at dusk and then make a racket so everyone knows theyre home

Milkweed is the only plant the eggs are laid on and the only plant the larva will eat... Around here they are spraying roadsides as well as farmers fields and the milkweed plant is getting harder to find.

 

Been trying to get a 455 motor off a buddy for my car.he finally gave it to me today.i pulled the motor a month ago,been sitting in my garage since.looked at it when i got home,its a fuckin 400.

i remember being kid around here and we have tennisball baseball. very often almost seemed like we played ball everyday.. losing the balls and getting the dog to find them was always fun. i had the only dog that would find balls too. other friends had hunting dogs they never let out the pen. can only remember how noisy they were and how badly they stunk. was a cement pen and they was out there all year round. a big black lab and a beagle .. I think the dogs names we BeeBee and Kemo they had another black lab, I think the names were the same. I never see any the people I grew up with .. just a very few for the amount of people that lived here at the time. just as the baseball teams were full of people we could never have a kids game like that in the lots here today. just not enough kids.. sometimes the kids play toss the football here but not very much that either.

 

I got drafted to a bad team this year...glad we won last year because it aint gonna happen this time.
