I also can't smoke pot, and edibles tend to have strange psychoactive effects. That said though, CBD wasn't all that exciting I thought. Maybe that's the point though.

Now I'm taking something for anxiety, and I was telling a clinician today I doubt it's strong enough to work effectively.

    Pros: it appears pretty harmless.
Cons: there's scant empirical evidence that it's any more efficacious than a placebo.

Our lifestyle choices are mostly what promotes these ailments. They're a part of the human psyche and can surface under physiologically stressful conditions. CBD (and THC) can help mitigate but doesn't correct the underlying causes.

My suggestion is contact a shop. Preferably call a brick & mortar store which you could visit, but I've heard of people getting it mailed to them. Ask for someone with CBD knowledge who can tell you what to look for, how brands may vary, and what would seem a good starting point for you. Some of those folks have seen a lot and have studied up, others may be just working a counter and not so well versed in the details.

This article touches on some aspects you may find interesting, the knowledge of which puts you in a better position to have a productive conversation with sales reps:

There are deeper details worth considering such as concentration, the manner in which it was extracted, the balance of cannabinoids it may also contain, the carrier in which it's delivered, and probably other factors they may be able to inform you about.
