What he seems to be saying is that this hate and agression does not solely stems from islam. There still have to be circumstances to trigger such groups to commit such atrocities. When there is no reason at all it is unlikely such terrorist groups appear just because they took notice of the islamic doctrines. Action --> reaction. That's how things work.
