Burning Man/ Local Burns and Black Rock City

my mom is an artist and wants to take me this year. i dont think she knows what shes getting herself into. what should i do to make this as fun and comfortalbe for both of us (our first time, if it happens) as possiible?

There's a burning man in the Seattle area www.massive.twiinster.com. I think you'd had to bought tickets awhile back, but there's always next year. I'm very excited.

 

i went to a festival in england last week and watched a film about burning man.
looks fucking hardcore. how much is it??? i seen someone selling a ticket in the vegan shop today but it had no price, im gonna try n get there next yr if at all possible.
theres loads of tekno heads there aint there???

I'm anxious - a completely self-reliant week in this desert:

 

I'm jealous. Take LOTS of water! Like 2 1/2 gallons a day was what they were saying at the local one.

 

The other day I was eating breakfast in small cafe with my friend...the guys at the table next to us were talking about BM. Prior to that, I had never heard of BM. So I came home and did some research...it looks sweet! I hope everyone that is going takes a little time to make a post about their experience when they get back! Where did BM actually start at, in the very begining?

 

Oh wow...I didn't realize it had started alredy...I thought it started today for some reason. I look forward to hearing about it when people come back!

I have a friend that has gone for several years and my nephew went last year. I asked for a souvenire that didnt have to be paid for. He brought me back a vial of playa dust mixed with ashes from the burn

and Quixotes Cabaret..the Brits there were fantastic! huge boobs!\
After the 2nd day you finally get over the hump and start enjoying all BRC has to offer...not sure how many people died..lots of humping going on...hurrah for the water trucks...my stankin ass needed a shower

My husband and I are thinking about going to the Burning Man Festival this summer. Has anyone ever been there? Is it worth the trip from Ohio?
