It would seem to imply that John the baptist was the greatest man to ever live, greater than even Jesus?

    Matthew

11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

You need to read deeper than that. It is not saying what you think he is.
What this passage tells us, is with John the Baptist heralds change. The change in era between the old Covenant and the new Covenant. Even the lowest member of the new Covenant is greater than the greatest one of the old Covenant.

"Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist"

What other passages are you citing?

Only 144,000 celibate men will be saved. (Those who were not "defiled with women.")
Or are the 144,000 men that are "not defiled by women" homosexuals? Are only gay men to be saved?

    Revelation

14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. (14:14)
"The hundred and forty and four thousand ... which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins."

14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

But the next line says that even the lowest of men who follow the new Covenant are greater than John for he was the last and greatest of the old Covenant.

the Jehovah Witness answer here is that 144,000 WJ will be saved and the rest with die on earth and wont go to hell since they dont believe in hell! even though JW bible HAS hell passages they still ignore it...

what the real answer here is that 144,000 Pure Jews that have no blood mixed with "gentiles" will be saved.... How do I know its Jews well I believe before or after the passage u quoted it gives u a break down of the names of the 12 tribes of Isreal that are the 144,000.

By the way, it's not only this group of people who will enter heaven. Those are specific Jews from each of tribes who will be saved. These are the 144,000. During the End times, evangelists will convert many Jews to Christianity. It says no-where that only these people will be saved. This is a purely Jehovah's Witness belief.

    How are you interpreting that?

From what I can understand it states that the lowliest person in heaven (I guess there is no equality even in heaven?) is greater than the then living(supposedly) John.

    Leviticus

12:8 And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

What is the significance of two turtles or two pigeons in relation to being a substitute for a lamb?

Was it in a way that anybody but you could understand? Or for that matter even understand you were trying to answer his questions? ;)
Why does it pain me?

The death of my Mother, Brother and Sister, pained me.

Nothing on this Forum has ever pained me, upset me or even bothered me and would I venture to say that nothing in the future will do so either.

For the most part I find the comments amusing, some I have even found intriguing but pained, no.

Why, are you pained by the comments that have been made?

As for "the obvious absurdities that are presented by the contradictions put forth in the bible and the contradictions that are fabricated to uphold them", that is what people like you say to denigrate the Bible but when pressed can't come up with any. Something easy to say but hard to prove.

    Check out this thread;

if after reading it you have a contradiction that wasn't covered just post it. :D

I already gave an example but now you'll say; I'm just trying to "dodge the question" and seeing as you'll never look it up for yourself.
These are not direct quotes from the bible but they are direct quotes from you:

You are getting away from Bible question and now are just trying to prove the Bible contradictory, there is a thread for that and this is not it.

Actually no, the Jehovah Witness believe that the opportunity to go to heaven was only opened up after Adam and Eve sinned and then only for a few and for a specific reason, to be priests and kings with Jesus in heaven but the majority of mankind will live, not die, here on a restored Paradise Earth forever, which is God's original purpose for mankind.

As for Hell, JW's believe in Hell but by definition, it is the common grave of mankind not as some believe, a place where Satan will torment them with fire forever.

The actual quote is: But if she cannot afford enough for a sheep, she must then take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and one for a sin offering, and the priest must make atonement for her, and she must be clean. (Leviticus 12:8)

And so it is not two turtles but two turtledoves.

There is no particular significance to them but were allowed as a substitute for the sheep because they were plentiful and thus inexpensive, thus the poor were not excluded from the sacrifices because they could afford a sheep.
