Depends on what you mean. The first part of the Bible was written about 1513 B.C.E. and the last of the Bible was written about 98 C.E. so if you're asking about the completed Bible that would have to be 98 C.E.

There's nothing wrong with it. God tells us to rejoice in our good works.

Never the less, if someone was doing as you say, Just putting in the hours, so to speak, Jesus would see that in their hearts at their judgment. On the same token. If you do things in a way such as it seems obvious that you're trying to con your way in. You could still get in. Cuz Jesus might see that you we're truly sincere. Like I said. Jesus sees what's in our heart. God hears our thoughts.

You can't con your way into Heaven.

When we help a friend, guess who's watching? When we cry, guess who's watching? When we're in need, guess who's watching? When we steal, guess who's watching? When we masturbate, guess who's watching? HE KNOWS.......

We must accumulate good works. Because the only thing we can take into Heaven with us is our good works. And we may rejoice in our good works.

Well God is it's author. It was written down by about 40 different people. The Bible was not discovered, it's been handed down from generation to generation up to today.

    Why a book?

Why not a large mountain in the shape of a double helix with "commandments" written around it in indestructible type face?

Why pass its most precious lessons down through a bible that is full of human error and human bias?

    Why not something "miraculous?"

The survival of the Bible itself is miraculous.

If you are talking about Jesus, Jesus is not almighty God. Or are you asking why Jesus came to Earth.

What color was Jesus' skin? I would be so upset if he was an uppity negro :( It's easier for me to subscribe to the WHITE JESUS belief.

Way to racist you big douche.

Personally I'd always thought that if Jesus was real he would have an olive pigmentation. I made a shirt about that back when I was in a Private Catholic School (a.k.a HELLLLLLLL). Needless to say, they were not happy :hat:

He also said repeatedly that you have to eat him (cf. John 6:51-55)

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.

Afterward, many of Jesus' disciples couldn't accept the teaching that Jesus was the True Bread from Heaven that one must eat (the verb used in Greek is clearly a literal eating), and they went on their way.

Am not saying that you cant do good deeds...I know jesus makes us help out others but my point is that you can just do good deeds and naver read the bible and expect to just go to heaven.
