Possibly. The Bible talks about certain homosexual acts as being sinful, but "being gay" requires clarification.

I'm skeptical toward almost everything, not just science.
Depends on what you attribute to global warming.
Did you know that the pollution added to the sky from commercial airplane traffic has actually slowed global warming and if not for that we would be worse off than we are.
Personally I believe sex education should be done by the child's parents but I have no objection to public sex education.
The Bible says nothing about contraceptives, so Christians don't care who uses them and there so no scripture that dooms people to hell, let alone for using a condom.
The permafrost is melting and under that is organic material that will begin to put out green house gases at a rate that will make the green house gases mankind puts out look like a drop in the bucket. That is why it is so important to stop global warming now because once global warming reaches that point, the change will be irreversible.

Not just frozen but flash frozen, no slow freezing could possibly account for the drastically sudden drop in temperatures that has been estimated on the basis of cellular studies, were as low as 150 degrees below zero F. (–101° C.). Plus if it was so cold that Mammoths froze to death then why has grass been found in their stomachs?

If as the Bible says, before the flood there was a type of heavy cloud cover, that cloud cover would have allowed a evening of temperatures world wide and would have allowed animals to live at the poles. But with those covering clouds being dropped quickly on the earth, it might have caused a massive drop in temperatures and thus the poles could have been flash frozen.

In any case I not saying this is the way it happened but just a way it could have happened, as I mentioned there are other theories.

I've been puzzled by an incident in Exodus involving an attempt by God to kill Moses (Exodus 24): 'At a camping place on the way to Egypt, the Lord met Moses and tried to kill him. Then Ziprah (Mrs. Moses) took a sharp stone, cut the foreskin off her son and touched Moses' feet with it. Because of the rite of circumcision, she said to Moses, you are a husband of blood to me. And so the Lord spared Moses' life." My questions are:Why did Gid attempt to kill Moses, his prophet? If God tried to kill Moses, why wasn't he successful? And is menstral blood kinda like kryptonite where God is concerned?

Pretty Good, the Bible calls the law a tutor that leads to the Christ, the relevance is that very law that you call arbitrary and call the person who wrote it a anal retentive fussbudget was intended to help lead the Israelites to the Christ so even these “minor” laws had reasons.

This what I found on the subject:

The clothing of the priests was notably exempt from the prohibition of a garment of two sorts of thread. Exodus 28:6, 8, 15 and 39:29 prescribe that various pieces be made of linen and colored wool interwoven. . . . This suggests that the general prohibition was grounded on the taboo character of such a mixture, pertaining exclusively to the realm of the sacred.

Thus in a way that posed no harm or hardship to the people who followed it, the Israelites were reminded to respect what is sacred.

The mixing of different seeds in sowing was not permitted, though seeds of different kinds could be sown, each kind in separate places in the same field. (Le 19:19; Isa 28:25) This may have been to keep the Israelites mindful of their separateness and distinctness as God’s people, under his Kingship. If an Israelite violated this law, mixing two sorts of seeds, the entire produce of his field or vineyard became as something “devoted.” It was therefore forfeited to the sanctuary.—De 22:9; compare Le 27:28; Nu 18:14.

Again, in away the posed no harm or hardship, the Israelites were reminded of their distinctness as God’s people.

In both cases these things would be reminders that would keep them prepared for the coming of the Christ.

Also when Ezekiel enacted the effects of the siege. To denote famine, he subsisted on just over eight ounces of food and about a pint of water a day. His bread (an unlawful mixture of wheat, barley, broad beans, lentils, millet, and spelt baked over dung) was unclean. (Leviticus 19:19) This action showed that Jerusalem’s residents would suffer great privation.

This would seem to indicate that the mixing of grain represents famine and poverty. But God promised that if the Israelites would obey his commandment they would have plenty, so a mixing of grains in a time of plenty would be like telling God we don’t think you are providing enough, thus it would be like when the Israelites complained about the manna in the wilderness.

So you seem to be saying the whole thing was largely symbolic, to serve as reminders of the distinctiveness of the Jews, their differentiation from the gentiles, the bountifulness of the Lord, and the specialness of the priestly class. Is that it? Did the Jews know this?

"Why did God attempt to kill Moses, his prophet?"
He did not, it was probably Moses' son that was it danger.

"If God tried to kill Moses, why wasn't he successful?"
It was the fast actions of Zipporah that saved the life of her child.

"And is menstral blood kinda like kryptonite where God is concerned?"
What? This has got to be a joke.

The law had a many purposes, the things you mention only being part of them.

It is difficult to know what the Israelites knew but from their actions toward the law, it would appear that many of them had thoughts similar to what you said before about the law.

Not including the bible of course.
Take your pick, I'm having a hard time finding one.

No I didn't know that, could you offer a reputable link?
Preferably not American airlines, or any of it's subsidiaries.

My bad I lumped you in with these morons, my apologies,

YAOUNDE, March 17 (Reuters) - Pope Benedict on Tuesday reaffirmed the Roman Catholic Church's opposition to the use of condoms in the fight against AIDS as he started a visit to Africa, where more than 25 million people have died from the disease in recent decades.http://www.reuters.com/article/homepageCrisis/idUSLH936617._CH_.2400

There is no proof that the current warming is caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from human activity. Ice core records from the past 650,000 years show that temperature increases have preceded—not resulted from—increases in CO2 by hundreds of years, suggesting that the warming of the oceans is an important source of the rise in atmospheric CO2.

The best evidence supporting natural causes of temperature fluctuations are the changes in cloudiness, which correspond strongly with regular variations in solar activity. The current warming could be part of a natural cycle of climate warming and cooling that’s been traced back almost a million years. It accounts for the Medieval Warm Period around 1100 A.D., when the Vikings settled Greenland and grew crops, and the Little Ice Age, from about 1400 to 1850 A.D., which brought severe winters and cold summers to Europe, with failed harvests, starvation, disease, and general misery.

Of course it will be nice to have cleaner burning engines for our cars and industry that does not fill the air with smog and clean renewable sources of energy(nuclear) to make our lives easier but as for this Global Warming is an imminent threat to our planet Al Gore propaganda bullshit, don't believe the hype.

I wonder when he will once again run for president and how many hippies will entrust him with there vote based only on his pseudo care for the environment and spread of disinformation?

I was very skeptical towards the Bible at one time.
It's been said that the weather we've been having is due to Global Warming and the weather has been doing in a few lately.
Depends on what you think about PBS, I think it was Nova.
Like you say some people are just morons, that's why I tend to put quotation marks around the word "Christian" a lot, because Jesus said there would those who call themselves "Christian" who he would not call Christian.
You don't have to believe Monkeyboy's doctored science any more, he is no longer the president.

I haven't seen "An Inconvenient Truth" but I do watch PBS and read Scientific American and Discover and most of what I've read says; look out a hard rain is going to fall.

Don't worry I won't vote for him. Personally I'd be surprised if we make it another four years so I don't think he'll get the chance.

So you believe the human race is doomed?

Because in my opinion we are far more advanced than in any other point in history, we are able to understand and often cure many diseases, racial bigotry seems to be diminishing in many parts of the world, we are constantly piling on new information about our origins and place in the cosmos and in many parts of the world human life is treated with far more respect than say 200 years ago.

When I think of threats to civilization a vague theory of global warming which in the 70's told of a imminent ice age and has now been retooled into some kind of global warming omen of fear is not what comes to my mind.

What comes to my mind are religious fundamentalists from many walks of life who believe that they know what god wants of the world, and through there idiotic bronze aged dogma will find more than enough justification to attempt to topple civilization and replace it with there own twisted theocracy, twisting scientific advancement to suit there own ends of apocalyptic prophecy that permeates nearly all monotheistic religions.

So after that spiel I have a question regarding your bible, was it the same interpretation of gods word your parents had read if they also were believers?

Why is it religion seems past down from generation to generation through bloodline?

So why does the Bible say God tried to kill Moses? Where did you get the idea that it wasn't Moses God was after. I quoted the passage. (Exodus 4:24-26)It says God tried to kill Moses. And why would Moses' son be in danger from God? This is a kid, right? Did the kid do anything wrong? I agree it's strange that God would try to kill his prophet, but that's what the Bible says, so it must be right. Where did you get the idea it was the child whose life was at stake? And if Zipporah' fast actions save him from God, what does that say about God's omnipotence? As for the joke, (and I apologize for the typo re menstrual and the use of that term instead of circumcision blood; it was late), it appears that by performing this rapid surgery, Zipporah was able to ward off an attack by God. As you say "it was the fast actions of Zipporah that saved" ..whoever. From whom? Think about the implications of that. If God wanted to kill anyone, wouldn't that person be dead meat? And speaking of jokes, can you imagine that scene? If Monty Python ever does a version of the Bible, they've got to include this.

Some commentators believe God was upset with Moses for failing to circumcise his son on the eighth day in accordance with the Abrahamic Covenant. Still, there is nothing in Scripture that prescribes the death penalty for such an offense, and to say it seems harsh and unjust would be an understatement. Zipporah apparently appeased God by carrying our the requirement properly. I seriously doubt that God wanted Moses dead. I think the point of the passage is, once again, to emphasize the importance of following the law in meticulous detail, and acceptance of the injustice of harsh punishment for deviation. These requirements were very important in preserving the national identity of a people who justifiably believed that their nationhood was under assault from gentiles. Did it actually happen? I personally doubt it, and don't think it's important to my faith whether or not it did.

Sorry, I've never heard of the gospels of Judas and Mary, so I guess that might answer your question.
