    I was curious what the bible has to say in relation to the ancient super continent known as Pangaea?

    I thought I did. Let me be more explicit. The priest who wrote Leviticus (not God or Moses) was an anal retentive fussbudget who liked to "keep 'em separated.

    Job 41 (New International Version)

    Job 41

    1 "Can you pull in the leviathan [a] with a fishhook
    or tie down his tongue with a rope?

    2 Can you put a cord through his nose
    or pierce his jaw with a hook?

    3 Will he keep begging you for mercy?
    Will he speak to you with gentle words?

    4 Will he make an agreement with you
    for you to take him as your slave for life?

    5 Can you make a pet of him like a bird
    or put him on a leash for your girls?

    6 Will traders barter for him?
    Will they divide him up among the merchants?

    7 Can you fill his hide with harpoons
    or his head with fishing spears?

    8 If you lay a hand on him,
    you will remember the struggle and never do it again!

    9 Any hope of subduing him is false;
    the mere sight of him is overpowering.

    10 No one is fierce enough to rouse him.
    Who then is able to stand against me?

    11 Who has a claim against me that I must pay?
    Everything under heaven belongs to me.

    12 "I will not fail to speak of his limbs,
    his strength and his graceful form.

    13 Who can strip off his outer coat?
    Who would approach him with a bridle?

    14 Who dares open the doors of his mouth,
    ringed about with his fearsome teeth?

    15 His back has rows of shields
    tightly sealed together;

    16 each is so close to the next
    that no air can pass between.

    17 They are joined fast to one another;
    they cling together and cannot be parted.

    18 His snorting throws out flashes of light;
    his eyes are like the rays of dawn.

    19 Firebrands stream from his mouth;
    sparks of fire shoot out.

    20 Smoke pours from his nostrils
    as from a boiling pot over a fire of reeds.

    21 His breath sets coals ablaze,
    and flames dart from his mouth.

    22 Strength resides in his neck;
    dismay goes before him.

    23 The folds of his flesh are tightly joined;
    they are firm and immovable.

    24 His chest is hard as rock,
    hard as a lower millstone.

    25 When he rises up, the mighty are terrified;
    they retreat before his thrashing.

    26 The sword that reaches him has no effect,
    nor does the spear or the dart or the javelin.

    27 Iron he treats like straw
    and bronze like rotten wood.

    28 Arrows do not make him flee;
    slingstones are like chaff to him.

    29 A club seems to him but a piece of straw;
    he laughs at the rattling of the lance.

    30 His undersides are jagged potsherds,
    leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge.

    31 He makes the depths churn like a boiling caldron
    and stirs up the sea like a pot of ointment.

    32 Behind him he leaves a glistening wake;
    one would think the deep had white hair.

    33 Nothing on earth is his equal—
    a creature without fear.

    34 He looks down on all that are haughty;
    he is king over all that are proud."

    The question was; What do you consider the purpose of the Mosaic Law to be?

    And you say your answer is "The priest who wrote Leviticus (not God or Moses) was an anal retentive fussbudget who liked to "keep 'em separated."

    Is that really your answer to the question?

    I remember hearing somewhere that Eden was Pangaea.

    I have no clue but such beliefs are not based on what the Bible says.

    Nothing Bible based but finding frozen Woolly Mammoths with their stomach still filled with grass would be consistent with the flood account.

    Of dinosaurs? I really don't understand why, there seems to be plenty of evidence that they at one time existed.

    Thanks for the history lesson.

    While I appreciate the lives saved, it is just a drop in the bucket compared to the 6 billion lives that hang in the balance as we speak. While mankind was saving the millions you speak of, mankind's industrial revolution was dooming 6 billion with global warming and that not even to mention the pollution that's killing the oceans, then you mention curing cancer but the cure may very well be stopping the rampant pollution all around us.

    Sure it would be great if a cure were found for AIDS but it hasn't and we've known how to prevent the spread of AIDS almost from the time it was discovered but since that time AIDS has come to be called the biggest plague of the 20th century. The thing is without promiscuous sex, AIDS would not be a problem. Please note I didn't say sex was the problem and yes, sex is very enjoyable but I said promiscuous sex is the problem.

    I never said mankind is doing nothing, but all mankind is trying to do now, is too little too late. Global Warming is almost on the tipping point now and governments are getting together and discussing how to cut back on green house gases 10, 20, 30 years from now and some the nations that are now the biggest contributors to green house gases aren't even meeting to talk about it. That's just Global Warming.

    You continue to call the destruction of the planet "progress", when are you going to awake up and smell the coffee. Yes, come on "one brilliant answer" because mankind doesn't have time for an answer to "evolve" over the next million years.

    We better hope that there is a God and that he's waiting in the wings with a miracle, because at the speed mankind is fixing the problems we'll all be dead before mankind even gets around to agreeing there is a problem.

    Ill-informed? Okay how do we get STD's, by sitting on toilet seats? Last time I looked two people in a monogamous relationship in which neither started with a STD have an almost zero chance of getting a STD. That's kind of why they are called Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

    No.

    There is no fixing False Christianity and True Christianity doesn't need fixing.

    Because instead of answering questions in this thread, it seems most people only want to ask them.

    Most of the Woolly Mammoth find appear to have been flash frozen. So some massive and very quick climate change would have been involved, the flood would fit that but other theories have but put forth.

    For someone who is notorious for his skepticism towards science you sure do eat this global warming propaganda up.

    How many deaths have been cause by global warming again?

    Volcano's have been theorized to release more harmful gas into the atmosphere than anything regulated by man.

    You know you bring up a great point, the spread of non biased sexual education into the prevention of STD's would be an excellent way to curb the rate of infection until a cure is found.

    Also the introduction of contraceptives such as condoms to people who are at a higher risk to infection such as Africans in particular could save millions of lives, to bad the Christian's got to them first and have already begun to brainwash the people with there ignorant dogma into believing it is preferable to contract aids than to wear a condom and be doomed to hell.

    Your basing that on what exactly?

    Uh, what?

    Most Woolly mammoth lived in cold tundras, perhaps that would be a more likely explanation as to why they are sometimes found preserved frozen in permafrost than say, a world wide flood.

    I mean wouldn't a large flood displace the bodies and encourage deterioration of the specimen from ancient aquatic scavengers?

    Oh, THAT question. The Mosaic law was a covenant between Israel and God to govern the Hebrews in the promised land, so that Israel could fulfill her destiny without contamination by gentiles until the coming of the Messiah. How is this relevant?
