Hopefully if you ever return to the UK, you will get around to visiting one of the theaters that I designed LOL.
I really liked the sites. There was this one museum exhibit that I thought was particularly cool. It was called "Their Mortal Remains". It had everything about Pink Floyd. I'm actually not their biggest fan (I like "Meddle" though Pink Floyd - Meddle (1971) - YouTube) but my parents really enjoyed that, and just getting to be together with them for that was nice. Also, there was a hotel cafe by the Thames I think it was (I'm sure it must have been) near the Tower of London that served a fish platter. Well, I didn't know until our food arrived, but a fish platter had fresh sashimi and all kinds of good stuff on it. It was really good, and I was surprised. That wasn't what I was expecting. We saw Windsor Castle and got to go inside and everything, and admire the grounds. They have a fabulous garden. We went to Buckingham Palace, but man it was crowded! You couldn't get a photograph it was so packed. I really liked the Tower of London too. Also the Victoria & Albert Museum was amazing. So was the Natural History Museum, though by that time I was tired of Museums. So it was a good trip! They also have a fabulous transit system of buses and trains that get you around without having to drive at all. I imagine that often the trains are probably faster than travel by car!
It doesn't matter what YOU classify it as. It's a part of Europe, and that's a fact. Anyways, Spain. Spain is beautiful and the people are very nice. Guys are dark and handsome. Food is good. I love it there. I've been there 3 times, and I defnitely want to go back there again in 2018.
I never hear much about Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania. The architecture looks lovely and medieval from my Google images search, I was expecting to see more Soviet influence. I've heard horrible things about Belarus but nothing about these old Soviet blocs. Anyone ever visited? I'm curious about them. I like the idea of visiting countries that don't have a ton of tourists. Crowds can really ruin a place
Yes, they are very underestimated. I am very interested in Lithuania. I didn't know until a year ago that Lithuanian population is mostly Catholic. Not that it matters...but it's up there close to orthodox/pravoslav and protestand countries. So you know,...fun(ish) fact. Plus we always think of the three Baltic countries as a similar group.
If you go, my only 2 cents is that St. Petersberg is supposed to be the crime capital of Russia. So maybe make sure you know a little about the places you are going to before you go there
I probably wont go, at least on a cruise. That particular method of travel doesnt appeal to me, it seems like you spend too much time on the boat and not enough time exploring on foot. Although European cruises would be better than spending days in the middle of the ocean on a Caribbean cruise But I would like to visit St. Petersburg and Russia one day. I didn't realize it had a reputation for being a high crime city
It is. Parts of Moscow aren't very safe either. It's a shame really. Such a beautiful country, so much history. Now...so much corruption and criminal. It does suck when people don't do their assigned jobs in a right and professional matter.
I love the Visegrad Group countries. Culturally and historically, we belong with them. It's a shame EU is the main focus and ultimate goal of politicians. Wait, is this too off topic for this forum
